“GMA” has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in all 35 weeks of the season.  In fact, the ABC morning newscast has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for more than 9 months (the last 41 weeks – since w/o 8/13/12).  Further, “GMA’s” 41 consecutive weeks at the top stand as its longest stretch at No. 1 in more than 21 years – since before the 1991-92 season; Nielsen’s electronic database started on September of 1991.

In Adults 25-54, “GMA” has ranked No. 1 in 29 of 35 weeks, representing the program’s highest number of No. 1 finishes in a season in the key adult news demo in 20 years – since 1992-93.  In Adults 18-49, “GMA” claimed its 16th week at No. 1 this season, matching its most No. 1 finishes in 19 years – since 1993-94.

Building on its success, “GMA” saw across the board gains year-to-year (4.671 million, 1.801 million and 1.357 million, respectively, on w/o 5/28/12) in Total Viewers (+14%), Adults 25-54 (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%), improving year to year in overall viewers in all 35 weeks this season.  In contrast, “Today” (-7%/-14%/-14%) has not only seen losses year to year in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 in all 35 weeks of the season, it has turned in losses for the last 41 weeks, starting with the week following the 2012 Summer Olympics (since w/o 8/13/12).
