I have watched GH for over 30+ years started watching it with my Grandma in her living room. I stopped DVR when Steve left. I watch KeMo on ytube. This show has become unbearable. I was so tired of the OLTL characters being ramped down our throats and now they are back as different characters that I still could care less about. More Vets and less of Ron’s pets.

They need to hire him some writing help and ASAP before it’s too late. Whatever happened to Charles Pratt????

Such a slapp in the face to bring back Franco and now Ron is going to redeem him.

I now have starting DVR Days that show is soooo good still miss Peter (BO)

  • Melanie P.

Guess I am one of the very few that is enjoying GH right now. I think Franco being back is great because Port Charles really doesn’t have a true villian right now that the entire town hates. Anyways, I just think Roger Howarth is a terrific actor. Can’t wait to see Michael, Carly, Sonny and Morgan’s reactions when they find out Kiki is a Quartermaine and Franco’s daughter. This will be interesting!! I have also been enjoying Y&R and B&B also. The tribute to Jeanne Cooper was wonderful and am glad they got big numbers for that.

Congrats to DAYS OF OUR LIVES in hitting highs all around the board. I staryed rewatching this soap again 3 months ago, but didn’t start thoroughly enjoying this show until 2 months ago when chloe/daniel/jennifer storyline ended.

Since then days has been on fire. I love eileen davidson as kristen dimera, will and sonny, the drama around rafe and many others too.

congratulations to all soaps for rising in viewers!!!! Nice to see they’re all up healthily from last year, such nice gains. Long live the soap genre.

  • Melanie P.

@Im cee, they did come back as characters tied to GH’s past. Franco and Kiki are tied to the Quartermaines. Don’t really care much for Dr. Clay since right now he’s not doing nothing for me. Funny when the former OLTL characters first came to GH people, were complaining they had nothing to do with any GH characters, now they have come back as GH characters and people still complain. Oh well, ain’t gonna please everybody.

  • Greg

I am happy to see that the Jeanne Cooper tribute did so well. I thought it was very well done and appropriate. While Y&R has some weak storylines in areas, I think it is much better than it was a year or so ago. It takes time to turn things around and I think they are doing a good job overall.

CBS seems proud of the show and I think that says a lot. Has any other network ever done a tribute to an actor or actress like Y&R did with Jeanne?

I feel like they are listening to fans who do not want to lose the Chancellor connection and will somehow build a story around Jill, Cane and possibly Tucker. I am only a fan of Jill, but open to see where they will take it.

Let’s cheer on the positive things going on at Y&R!

  • Sophie

I’m loving GH now. At first when they brought the OLTL actors, I didn’t like them. Then they grew on me, then they left and I didn’t like the characters they were playing. But they are so good I’m already waiting for more. GH will come back. In the last year Days has beat GH 3 times. Gh came way back this past year. I have to watch everyday, can’t miss it! Days getting rid of John shouuld hurt there ratings. I don’t like the way Days treats there vets! Or the way NBC treats people.
NBC ratings in general have gone way down. Days is the only thing bringing in ratings.

    Great news! Long live soaps!

It warms my heart to see all soaps up. Massive rise for DOOL this week, which has been sensational. I hope they can keep the momentum. Slightly concerned about what the tennis preemptions will do, but we will see next week. BBs year on year comparison is amazing up half million. I have had the opportunity to watch YR consistently for the last week and liked what I saw. Jeanne Coopers tribute was very fitting. Watched GH for the first time in ages-nice to see the Qs back, can’t comment on the new characters. I found the writing and pace a bit manic and rushed for my taste but not completely awful. Good to see less of Sonny and the mob which is why I left five years ago. Not enough to tempt me back yet.

Both B&B and Y&R lucked out that Monday ratings were excluded from the weekly tally, as both soaps had their lowest rated day on Monday. I don’t know if Friday ratings are an indication of performance for the next week, but both Y&R and GH had their lowest numbers of the week on Friday (not counting Monday). While not the best day, the Friday numbers for “Days” and B&B were better than the day before (and the day before that in B&B’s case).

  • Harlee

YR’s tribute was outstanding and so well done and moving. By showcasing majority of present & past vets are where YR’s strongest features. I think YR will bring some viewers back because the writeout of Katherine’s death and the fallout that comes directly in the aftermath. This should be full umbrella story that affects many of vets. YR team, Sony, CBS has a real opportunity to give YR a huge push up in the future ratings if Katherine’s death and if playout in the correct manner could be stunning soap. It needs to be thoughtful & respectful to the audience and they will tune in…I’m anxious but excited and if pulled off Jeanne would love nothing better but Katherine bringing story from the grave….fly with the angels Jeanne.

im loving gh right now i wish all soaps the best theres so few left watch them all or your show could be off next i cant wait for it to pick up more and the more storyline the more we have to pick i dont like them all butt the storyline that hook me was lucky got kiddnapped and i did watch pc some two

Heather, you don’t even know what you are talking about. 90% of what you said has no truth to it. Get your facts straight before you start dissing something that has been considered groundbreaking for soaps…to make it on the internet!

AMC is doing much better than OLTL, but OLTL is also getting new headwriters which they really do need. I believe in Prospect Park, AMC and OLTL and I’ll keep watching. You naysayers can watch if you want….just stop bashing ’em!

  • Mike

Well to me there is no difference in being a naysayer and being one who is so over the top positive toward PP they can’t see that something is not right. I’m just waiting for one of you to go to Vatican City and request sainthood for Prospect Park.

Sorry but the company has done nothing and continues to do nothing to instill confidence in them. You can run around making rash decisions and expect people to think you know what you are doing. Everything Heather said that they have done is true.

You can add to it that they file a lawsuit against ABC over things that many of them happened over a year ago. I mean if they were bad enough to require a lawsuit then why in the world did not they not say something then. If ABC was in such big violation then why didn’t PP jump up and put a stop to it then.

I honestly believe that PP could put out on a contract and kill a bunch of people and you would find a way to say that it was okay.

I’m glad the shows are back esp. AMC and I do struggle to watch it when I can, but I am able to honestly see that something is wrong there. They really need to get their act together.

  • Mike

Maybe when the soap operas start getting viewership numbers so that they can fully finance the network off them then you can get your wish.

The reason that the networks show the sporting events and the like is simply because they bring in viewers. Even the dog shows that NBC and other networks pre-empt the soaps for get higher ratings. It was just like the Olympics pulled in those big numbers. And as long as that continues to happen then you can fully expect soaps to get preempted for basketball, tennis, etc. They are events that draw people to watch.

As far as news and stuff, face it — it’s been happening for years. And the minute that some executive at the network or affiliates decide that they are going to pass on this or that news event then it is going to be the one that some soap fan really wanted to see or hear about. And guess what they are going to call the network or affiliate and make some big deal about it.

You didn’t say it, but it has been said so many times. There are news networks and there are talk and food networks — put all those things over there. Soap fans need to remember there is also a soap opera network. Maybe they should send all the soaps over there. Lets just do away with the networks and become all specialty channels and be done with it.

The networks are not specialty networks. They serve a whole wide variety of fans. For every soap fan out there, they have a talk show or game show or a news fan to match it. They have to work to please all of them.

  • Jeff

Good for all the soaps. Let’s hope they all continue ratings inclines. Since the networks pretty much continue to lose ratings in primetime, any increase in daytime is a big deal.

  • robert

Good news for soap fans. Very pleased with Days turnaround.

  • lm cee

Melaine P it never bothered me when the OLTL characters first came on that they didn’t have any ties to PC. What bothered me is that they were crammed down our throats and were hogging air time from the vets. Now they are back on and they are still hogging up most of the air time because they are Ron’s pets.

I do not find GH entertaining any longer so I don’t watch. I am a huge Kelly Monoco fan and watch her scenes on Y tube. I think her acting is amazing.

GH doesn’t have any great couples. They have lost so many great actors in the last few months and now Bradford is on as recurring it’s just not the same GH that I loved to watch.

  • bizzarr1000

im really pulling for one life and amc

  • Kayla Rae

DOOL is rockin’ it for sure! I am blown away by just how superb this show is! Congrats, Days, on your well-deserved gains…keep it coming! And, I’m with you, 4HourGlass, NBC needs to stop preempting Days so much…it’s ridiculous. And I agree with you as well, Mike, that NBC needs to promote Days much more. Days continues to be the most superb soap on television!!!

  • Dee

GH is crap! I expect the ratings to plummet again really soon!
