Due to the nature of live sports programming the ratings for ABC (NBA Finals) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

ABC was number 1 in adults 18-49 and with Total Viewers.

On ABC, game one of the NBA Finals scored a preliminary 4.9 adults 18-49 rating. Last year's game earned a 6.9 adults 18-49 rating, but expect this number to change in the finals.  Jimmy Kimmel Game Night earned a preliminary 2.1 adults 18-49 rating while the NBA Countdown garnered a preliminary 2.5 among adults 18-49.

On FOX, Hell’s Kitchen was even with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating down. Does Someone Have to Go? scored a 1.2, up two tenths from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

On NBC, Save Me earned a 0.7 at 8PM and  8:30PM, both up from last week's 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. Hannibal garnered a 0.9, down a tenth from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

wow am suprised hannibal fell only a tenth expected it to more more with game 1 as a competition

  • senor chang

whoa WHOA WHOA no Hannibal not okay

  • KarenM

I knew Hannibal wasn’t going to rise in the numbers. It just can’t find a damn audience plus with the NBA Finals and the premiere of Graceland. It’s sooo good. How disappointing. I’m glad NBC’s giving it another chance but I’d like to see it moved.

  • Mary

I’m ready to give up on Hannibal after this year anyway. I started watching because of Hugh Dancy but I don’t watch the show. It bores me. I don’t like seeing Will go crazy. Also, I wish the show would focus on the actual crime solving. To me, this show is a less interesting version of Criminal Minds.

  • KarenM

Who’s watching reruns of Elementary? I wish Hannibal could beat this show. It’s so much better than Elementary.

  • Mary

    Oops–edit. I mean I don’t like the show. Not I don’t watch.

  • KarenM

@Mary, it’s much better than that crap CM. Yes, Will’s illness is getting farfetched and there are a few plotholes but what’s better acting and visually then this show? Certainly not CM.

  • Mary

@Karen. I don’t like unique visuals in movies or TV. I think it’s the director just trying to show off. I enjoy story elements. Fancy visuals just don’t add anything to me. If anything, they annoy me since I want the focus to be on the characters and story.

  • Dennis

    Ya Hannibal is loosing focus….

Not as good as I thought

  • KarenM

Whatever…Hannibal is your thing or it isn’t. I can nitpick every show to death.

  • rob60990

NBA finals Game 1 preliminary rating was a 5.6. That 4.9 should adjust up to over a 6. Will still be down from last year but ABC can’t complain.

  • Juan

For the people who watched the game on ABC, did they show commercials for their fall shows

  • Alice

I’m a huge fan of CM and Hannibal, I do think Hannibal’s a lot better in nearly every respect, but clearly attracting an audience isn’t one of them. Hopefully NBC won’t go back on their renewal… It does shoot up hugely w/ dvr but I know that doesn’t matter to advertisers.

  • Jared

I’m all about networks giving new shows a second chance but Hannibal is NEVER going to get a big enough audience to warrant multiple seasons on NBC. Hannibal has cable written all over it.

  • FLOP Detector

    FLOPbal strikes again.

    And NBC renewed this crap.

If Flopbal was a CW show, it would be the 3rd most-watched show tied with Arrow. What a shame, all the other renewed shows this season on CBS, ABC, FOX and NBC would be the number 1 show on CW

  • Alice in Wonderland

Wish Body of Proof was on NBC, it clearly would have gotten a season 4 if a show with 3 million and a 0.9 rating can get renewed. Loving Save Me. So glad it rose. :)

  • KarenM

@Jared, too good for network TV. And the only show I watch on NBC. In fact, most nights I don’t even watch cable. I’m watching less and less TV all around. Hannibal’s the best network TV show I’ve seen in a long time.

  • Dennis

Hannibal just isn’t as good as alot of people make it out to be tbh…

  • FLOP Detector

Worst flop of 2012: Made in Jersey

    Worst flop of 2013: Cult

Worst flop of 2014: obviously Hannibal
