Due to the nature of live sports programming the ratings for ABC (NBA Finals) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

ABC was number 1 in adults 18-49 and with Total Viewers.

On ABC, game one of the NBA Finals scored a preliminary 4.9 adults 18-49 rating. Last year's game earned a 6.9 adults 18-49 rating, but expect this number to change in the finals.  Jimmy Kimmel Game Night earned a preliminary 2.1 adults 18-49 rating while the NBA Countdown garnered a preliminary 2.5 among adults 18-49.

On FOX, Hell’s Kitchen was even with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating down. Does Someone Have to Go? scored a 1.2, up two tenths from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

On NBC, Save Me earned a 0.7 at 8PM and  8:30PM, both up from last week's 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. Hannibal garnered a 0.9, down a tenth from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    NCIS is not “crap”

Otherwise, 20 MILLION people wouldn’t watch it

Um total viewers or 18-49 ratings don’t decide which shows are good or bad. For example, The Vampire Diaries is an amazing show but gets usually around 2-3 million viewers and a 1.0-1.4 rating. Whereas Two and Half Men (in my opinion) is really bad, but gets above 10 million viewers weekly and over a 3.0 rating.

Something went wrong with my last comment!

why are there so many shows about serial killers on TV when, in fact,in reality, these people are quite rare? I find the fact people like to watch shows about serial killers more disturbing than the show itself.

  • The End

    @Otherwise, 20 MILLION people wouldn’t watch it

We don’t know if 20 million actual people watch it. When talking about ratings, it’s best to refer to them as ‘viewers’.

That’s great for you, but doesn’t make it more interesting for me. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter if I watch or not since I’m not a Nielsen family, but I also can’t blame any viewers who’ve stopped watching because the show bores them. I liked the show but it’s boring me too now.

And the only character I think is 100% fascinating is Gillian Anderson’s and her role is little more than a cameo. Maybe that’s why it’s so interesting.

What are they talking about!!!?? Hannibal is a horrible show!!!

Hannibal is disgusting, too much gore. Forget about eating something while watching the show, uugh! It’s so graphic you want to throw up every five minutes.

The only good actors are Mads and Lawrence Fishburn. Mr. Claire Danes is a terrible actor, his face looks like he always has stomachache and his shaky voice it’s just annoying.

I cannot believe NBC renewed them! Not only the show is terrible, it doesn’t pull good numbers. Are the actors working for free or what?

Vampire Diaries is FAR from an “amazing show” in my opinion…

it’s just teen crap. in my opinion of course ;)

  • Dennis

    @The End

    True, True…

I mean my dog Tom Selleck is a big NCIS fan, I leave the tv on and he sits in front of it… He’s a big Gibbs fan

theCroup – “Now they just make Will seem like a complete idiot and everyone else around him the same. Like seriously, they entire FBI sees the guy sweating and looking like a TB patient and don’t think “hey, I know your doctor said there’s no physical problem, but maybe a second opinion would be good? (…) He’s just an outsmarted victim like everyone else. So why expend the effort to keep watching a show about these two when their dynamic is so boring?”

Nice summary of why I stopped watching.

At the end of day, investment in this show hinges on getting emotionally invested in Will Graham’s relationship with Lecter. If you’re sold on that, you’ll keep watching. If you aren’t (I wasn’t) it doesn’t matter how excellent all other aspects of production are, the show will do nothing for you.

I loved the work on mise en scene, I loved Mikkelsen’s acting and the moody atmosphere. Couldn’t get into Graham-Lecter at all. Boring, heartless.

Like theCroup, by the time I gave up on the show, I half hoped they’d chosen to focus on Crawford-Lecter instead. Interesting stuff going on there with Bella Crawford and the dead trainee.

  • Mark2

Hannibal has already been renewed for another season. It had low ratings because of the NBA game and it went head to head with the premier of Graceland.

Don’t worry, they’ll double those rating numbers when the Live DVR ratings come out

  • CC

CW is not rolling in high ratings! Bring back Reba and Smallville???

  • Loki

    BatB is a joke :-)

  • Jon

Remind me why NBC renewed Hannibal. Wow those ratings are just pitiful.

  • Pepper

Hannibal will be two seasons and done, unless a cable network picks it up. It’s just not finding its audience on NBC.

  • Jo

I hope Save Me Makes it, it’s not great but it’s kind of cute. I like it, they renewed Hannibal and Save Me beats it.

  • Andy

Save Me is a decent little show. Different and quirky.
