Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Loki

    Mark is a better chairman than Dawn. Yes Dawn put The CW on the map, but failed to take risks and kept premiering high school, teen drama shows and then people got tired of them.

  • The End

    @beached

    You must be new here. About 90 percent of discussions here are about CW shows on any average ratings release, when new episodes are airing even.

  • platypus Perry

    First of all I am commenting on Nikita from my own point of view, whether you tend to agree, disagree, or mock my timing on this matter is fine as well.

    Don’t you think we all know this is ”old” news from May at the CW upfronts. We are discussing about Nikita which is a FRIDAY show, Carrie Which is going to be a FRIDAY SHOW and rating comparisons from both shows on different nights which this is a TV NUMBERS WEBSITE. SO who cares if the news is old it is relevant you moron, not to mention I was replying to others debating about the Carrie versus Nikita Episode renewal.

    I Didn’t know there was a time frame on tv subjects or discussions.. Someone should give this Tom guy a pocket protector and nominate him as hall monitor of tvbythenumbers.com so he can tell us to not discuss any news that is over 3 weeks old :)

  • platypus Perry

    @ LOKI, although I agree that Carrie being renewed was a shocker or just plain dumb as some might say (just like Nikita last year) I still think Mark is a better president than Dawn. Hopefully this new tv seasons of shows will bring some more life into the CW.

    I like the fact that CW has ventured into different genres, it’s too bad CW didn’t do this two years ago when the network started it slow demise to where it currently stands..

    I’m giving Mark a good 4 or 5 years to clean up this mess. As much as I complain of the Carrie renewal atleast it was shipped to Fridays. I mean HOD and Beauty won’t look too pretty on Monday Nights but it will be an improvement that shows gains from a year to year standpoint, seeing how Carrie and 90210 hit major lows!!

  • Tom

    @ platypus Perry

    “Ignorant”; “moron”; “shocker or just plain dumb”. Wow, you should change your handle to “platy-pretentious”. And I’m sure that Mr. Pedowitz is gratified that you’ve magnanimously granted him 4 – 5 years to perform his magic.

    And, btw, stop restating the obvious. As a myriad of posters have already opined, it’s self-evident that Carrie was scheduled for a 13 episode run on Fridays to serve a schedule fodder. No one believes the show has great ratings or a rosy future. So, try to break with tradition and come up with something original for a change.

  • truth

    Jack and Loki aka Bondoel pathetic as usual :D

    DEATH TO NIKITA! :D

  • Michael

    Can someone tell me what these upfront sales include…

    Do they include sales to international markets?

    So they include the ad dollars per 30 second ad?

    What else??

  • SP

    4.78 million, not bad for Rock Center

  • Justin121

    Nikita repeat beat Nikita original :D

  • Gene

    Oh NBC, if only you’d been patient with Rock Center.

  • CrimTV

    @beached

    I live in the UK and I love The CW’s shows.

  • CrimTV

    The CW probably didn’t have enough money to launch ANOTHER show and as The Carrie Diaries is cheap they thought they might as well renew it.

  • Dan S

    I for 1 have gotten bored with H50 & won’t be following it to Fridays. There’s already Grimm & a relocated Raising Hope at 9pm so that’s more than enough to watch. They obviously have already started the budget cutting by dumping Grace Parks. I’ll stick with Blue Bloods but I hate to see how that’ll do with no more CSINY.

  • roly

    Lazy night nothing on free tv.

  • John A

    Ha Loki/Bondoel banned again. Surely Bondoel will go away for the summer.

  • Theoacme

    @Michael – the upfronts only cover US domestic ad sales, as far as I know.

  • Jack Bauer

    I HATE ABC :-(

  • Bern

    @Jack
    “I really hope the TCD Flop this fall because i really think the CW made a really stupid decision to cancel Nikita! I really can’t believe that people watch TCD over Nikita! The CW made a wrong decision in season 2 by moving Nikita to Fridays! I think that it will have done well if it was paired with arrow! Lets Hope the Nikita ratings improve which should get us at least 13 episodes! Fingers crossed! I would recommend watching Nikita to any One out there, its really one of the BEST shows i have ever Watched! Just catch up on the CW website and be ready for the Last 6 Episodes!”

    AGREED!!!
    Since Nikita will be a mid-season there’s zero chance for a 13 episodes. Plus it’s already the final season unless CW shocked us with a 13 real final episodes (which is unlikely) as long Maggie Q is up for it since she said she only wanted to do Nikita show for four seasons.

  • THE OLD MAN

    Have no idea what What Would You Do is.

    Agree w/Josh 2770 re: H50–finally caught the final 2 eps & couldn’t believe how bad & unbelievable the show has become! It won’t stand a chance against ST & Grimm next season.

  • CBSviewer

    @ The End

    Yes ! A 0.7 is quite good for a repeat on Friday. I’m more and more confident. Hawaii Five-0 will rate OK and it skews younger than Blue Bloods. My guess is that it’ll be Renewed for a fifth Season along with Blue Bloods (16-18 episodes).
    Then, there is two possibilities:
    1) Hawaii Five-0 is Renewed for sixth season while Blue Bloods is canceled; CBS uses Hawaii to launch a new Show at 10PM.
    2) Both of Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods get axed; CBS replaces them by underperforming Shows.
