Very disappointed with tvgn not airing The young and the restless at 9:00 pm central time like soap net did. This is the only time that works for me. Now I just read about what is happening on the show : (((

I have been watching this soap for over 40 years and i can’t believe that you would take it off the soap network. You are going to lose ratings and your show will go down hill. This is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen. You should strongly consider putting your show back on the soap network if you don’t want your show to lose ratings and to be never watched again and now one will have a job anymore.

Soapnet as a I understand it is disappearing and becoming something else. It’s owned by ABC Disney I think and I believe I read it will be more kids programming. Let’s face it ABC cancelled all but GH, so far, so they really don’t need Soapnet any more. The haunchos there that came to power never seemed to want to do soap genre programming any more.

Thank goodness CBS cares about it’s soap and the Y&R fans, enough to buy a 50% interest in TVGN which is on a lot of cable/satellite receivers already. A week after buying in with Lion’s Gate, they launched the Y&R same day repeats so fans could see it somewhere in the evening. I’m not a fan of watching it on the computer either. I do wish it repeated in more timeslots however. But our CBS local station seems to always breakin for news so I’m happy. BTW TVGN is no longer a small inset screen. Looks like other channel programming. And Lion’s Gate their partner in TVGN will be running movies from their huge inventory. I think it’s the best deal we could get. I think Soapnet was said to pull the plug either this summer or come fall.

Did you guys get to see the specials that they did for Y&R fans during opening week? Very enjoyable. Right now they are rerunning the 1 hr special “Y&R On Set: InFANity”.

BTW the news of Soapnet’s demise came out maybe around the time that AMC and OLTL were cancelled. It’s been out in the press for some time. Talked about on the soap Boards as well for some time. Sorry so many people apparently got blindsided by Soapnet’s demise and winding down. Really don’t know what will happen to GH. I’m thinking they will end it. Have no idea how the new AMC and OLTL are doing over at Hulu. I did not make the move to watching it there when they managed to resuscitate it online. Maybe some of you aren’t aware of that either. Hulu viewing is free with commercials, other they have a subscription plan. A number of the old cast joined on. Do a web search for hulu.com if you were a fan of the shows and might want to follow it there.

Soapnet existed to show reruns of ABC’s soaps, not CBS’s soaps, their competitor. I’m hoping now that CBS has made this investment in a Cable station that it will also bring on board the daily episodes of Bold & Beautiful. That gets interrupted frequently too as it airs around lunchtime.

People who think CBS dumped Soapnet are so mistaken…..it cost CBS a pretty penny to buy into this investment just for our viewing pleasure of CBS programming and keep our loyalty to their shows.

BTW I also got cable back when to watch Soapnet and see Another World and my other soaps when Soapnet first hit the cable channels so understand how it feels suddenly losing your favorite soap. I still miss Another World, a show NBC no longer wanted to be part of.
