In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@ Flop Detector…..saying the NBA finals will beat the voice is a pretty obvious statement. No big revelation there. That is like saying the rain will fall from the sky. Duh!

  • rgxx

I gave up on the rest of The Voice this season – they all sound the same – they are all good but yet boring somehow…see you in the chair spinning episodes next season VOICE.

  • rgxx

FOX- cancel SYTYCD – it’s over…come up with something else – you’re upcoming elimination rounds are confusing now…END IT!

  • HalCapone

I guess this is the new normal when someone says CBS repeated well with a 1.1 and 1.0, respectively.

  • BxActor

    @Jay I agree 100% w/ the Country Voice. I completely called the finalists … It wasn’t hard to know what’s happening .

  • BxActor

Brooklyn DA OMG I knew it would be low when only 54 people checked into get glue :( wow

  • HalCapone

Shouldn’t The Voice be at least steady or rising as it reaches (thankfully) the finish line. I wouldn’t think The Voice demo follows the NBA. Can America finally be tiring of The Voice, along with every cheesy reality singing competition show? Oh please make it so!!!!!

  • CrimTV

NBC is premiering the spring cycle of The Voice on February 24, 2014!

    @ HalCapone

I guess this is the new normal when someone says CBS repeated well with a 1.1 and 1.0, respectively

Yes it is. Considering all CBS’s dramas repeat with 1.0-1.1 (Except CSI which got a 1.3).

    @ FLOP Detector

What are you talking about ? The Voice DID NOT air against NBA. It aired against Jimmy Kimmel and NBA Countdown.
America’s Got Talent was down only 0.1 against NBA. The Voice is down because it’s summer and two cycles is too much for the Show…

  • fourat sakka

the voice will be adjusted up

  • rgxx

Voice hitting lows – b/c it’s boring now – the contestants mostly sound the same or are all-country…

Country viewers & voters dominate these shows lately.

Last year – Blake’s contestant winner
This year on Voice: Country contestants left
X-Factor – Winner Country guy in the hat
Last year McCreepy country guy in A.I.

Too much country winners – getting tired of the same sound winning.

  • Fakeem

Seems to me that The Voice falls as the contestants dwindle because the fans of the singers voted out just stop watching.

After the show’s first cycle, they realized that the chair was the hook, so they figured a way to expand the chair use during the following cycle. If they could figure out out to use those chairs in other aspects of the show, the ratings might stabilize as the cycle continues, even though it may make the show look hokey.

  • Ram510

I don’t even watch on Tuesday anymore. Living on the west coast if rather just find out online who was voted off rather than wasting an hour to find out. So I’m not surprised the ratings keep going down each week.

I think they have really drug this portion of the competition out far too long. It should only take 3 weeks from the top 16-12 to get to the winner, not a month and a half. It doesn’t take that long to figure out which voice you like.

This part of the show has become tired and a chore to watch and that’s why I’ve stopped watching (plus there’s way better shows on cable now). But I’ll be back for the blind auditions and Christina and Cee lo

  • Mark

I was surprised to see the brothers make it through but not surprised to see Danielle make it cause she’s just likeable. People can complain all they want but it’s the viewers voting country through (assuming you believe the voting process) so obviously somebody likes it. I think the show doesn’t need 2 cycles in a year though and wish they would just go back to one.

  • rob60990

    “masterchef and the voice tie….”

    Tie where? On Mars?

“America’s Got Talent is doing way better than American Idol did this season.”

American Idol in its 12th season was pulling 4s and 5s for its audition episodes. Let that sink in.

  • Ram510

I think it’s funny how so many people now are saying this season of the Voice sucks when just a few weeks ago people were saying it was the best and threw a fit when it was announced Christina was coming back. People are have such a flip flop knee jerk reaction to things. This season has been great filled with alot of talent

  • Pepper

NBC’s reliance on the Voice was a very shortsighted strategy, and it’s going to greatly shorten the shelf life of the show as people are going to tire of it more quickly if it’s on twice a year. Couple that with the fact that singing competition shows are quickly becoming a relic of the past, and the Voice will be gone within a few years.

  • Sergio

So glad the low data from the voice, I just hate the people in the blake’s team..

  • Sergio

The voice did face NBA in the west coast!!!

  • Mike

So you think you can dance is nothing more than glorified gymnastics. I’ve seen better Floor Exercises from high schoolers. Dance or go over to the gym.
