True-Blood-Season-Six

The True Blood sixth season premiere was Sunday's top cable program with a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating, down from last year's 2.9 premiere rating. Your predictions were too optimistic. Sprint Cup  racing coverage came in second with a 1.2  adults 18-49 rating.

We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our principal source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in the top 100.

The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search for specific shows.

    John A. deserves no less than an icepick through the heart for dissing Mad Men while worrying over the fates of the dreadful Falling Skies and Client List.

  • Marsinvestigations1@gmail.com

    If THE KILLING holds at a .4 I think it will return. It has a deal with Netflix and apparently FOX wanted more episodes for international licensing. AMC can’t expect it to reach big numbers at this point but matching season 2 numbers should be enough for another season.

  • michael

    hey, whats about OWN? sunday at 9pm and 10pm??

  • Evan

    The show I have a feeling won’t be able to maintain its .4 because last season dipped into .3 area a few times in the middle of the season then bounced back to a .5. Also last year it hit .6 a few times. So I dont think the show will be able to survive if it just gets .4′s and then a few .3′s.The show needs to start hitting .5′s and MAYBE reach a .6 hopefully. I love the show and I’m nervous and really want it to do well.

  • Parker

    I do not think the 8pm timeslot works for the Housewives, especially during the summer, since its still light out. HUT levels must be low. They should move RHONJ to 9 or 10pm. It did well there. RHOA did well at 8pm, because it primarily aired in the winter, when HUT levels at 8pm are good.

    Why do people still ask Nick questions? I haven’t seen him on this site in months.

  • Sketch

    Nick popped in two weeks ago. I imagine he’s busy but people are holding out hope he’ll post again.

    Why are the ratings for “The Borgias” never listed? The show drew 800,000 viewers a couple of weeks ago. It seems on par with some of these reality shows listed above that have similar viewership, however they are listed.

  • Bryan

    @DisneyNick – Not sure where you got those #s, but they are wrong. Even Nick’s press releases shows that Sam & Cat had 2.8 million viewers on Saturday 6/15

  • LM

    @Bryan — do you have the real numbers?

  • Ram510

    I wish Mad Men was higher, it was a great episode

    Veep hasn’t been as good as the previous season

    I don’t know what happened to The client list? The second hour was entertaining, but it hasn’t been even remotely watchable for a couple months now.

    I’m sure Falling Skies will bounce back some

  • Melanie P.

    @bravod, As far as the RHONJ, Why does everyone act like Teresa Guidice is so innocent? Like her language or behavior hasn’t been repulsive, let alone her husband’s and her children act like spoiled brats who are disrespectful to the other adults on the show. Hypocritical she never takes any responsibility for anything she has done or said to offend anyone, yet some act like she is always being wronged and the other housewives are to blame, Unbelievable!! I like that Melissa stands up to her and won’t take any crap, neither will Jacqueline or Caroline. Kathy is cool. Everybody don’t need to be yelling and acting like fools just to get attention. I suggest they should lighten it up some and have fun again like they did a couple of seasons ago. Constant bickering week after week does get old. This season was filmed a few months ago, so according to most of the cast, everyone is in a good place now. So maybe for season 6, will be a little more fun again.

    HBO has to be happy right now… not only did it win the night, but it destroyed everything else going against it (which is even more important)…

    As for The Killing getting another year. At 1.36 mil and 0.4 that’s usually wishful thinking. But if Netflix continues to support it financially and makes it practically free then sure they’ll give it another spin. (Only because their reality crap is failing and they need additional programming already with MM and BB’s end impending). So who knows? (Other than the money people). If not, then there’s no way it comes back. Remember, this was supposed to be their “comeback” season of sorts. New case to generate new interest…. simply matching numbers from season 2(which weren’t good enough to make the AMC axe without Netflix assistance) isn’t anywhere in the realm of being acceptable. AMC has to be disappointed.

  • reallypeople

    And probably the best thing about the list:

    True Blood: Live from the Set (basically a 15 minute Q&A) 2.25 mil 1.2 demo
    Keeping Up with the Kardashians 2.13 mil 1.1 demo

    Maybe the world is finally coming to its senses.

  • James

    @Juan
    I’m not sure what your trying to say other than the typical GoT is a fantasy series so that must mean its fans are losers with no lives. Both GoT and True Blood went up against the NBA Finals and your point about the repeat ratings doesn’t make sense because all throughout the season the GoT 11pm repeat would get 1m+ and a .5 or .6 demo. While True Blood may be cheaper is doesn’t change the fact the GoT is the most profitable show HBO has despite it’s big budget due to international sales , merchandise, and huge DVD sales. With that said I enjoy True Blood and hope its ratings go back up.

  • reallypeople

    @James

    Not that it matters because both GoT and TB are HBO cash cows with no end impending… but, GoT’s profitability stems from being completely owned by HBO unlike TB. As for merchandising/DVD sales, TB still holds the edge. International sales is trickier to track down, but I believe it is advantage GoT. But as I mentioned before, both are vital to HBO retaining their subscribers (which is what HBO cares about) and are what HBO hopes to duplicate. Honestly, they’d love to have at least one if not two more on GoT or TB’s levels.

  • Jeffk

    @Juan

    Hahaha someone can’t accept the fact that GoT overcame True Blood as HBO’s second most-watched drama ever.

    Doesn’t seem like you even watch GoT if you said that it appeals mostly to LotR fanbase. They could not be any more different. I know a lot of hardcore GoT fans (of which I am one) who could care less about LotR, and vice versa.

  • Jeffk

    That was a great episode of True Blood, certainly the best in a LONG LONG time. I have high hopes for this season. Here’s hoping the ratings pick up a bit :D

  • Fox

    @ Renz -

    Somewhat doubtful that the Daytime Emmy’s attracted 5 million viewers. Last year the first-run, live broadcast on HLN only got 912,000 viewers. (The subsequent reruns added-in boosted the total to something like 2 million viewers.) So my guess would be that it’s not listed here, because the original broadcast didn’t make the Top 100.
