Popular 16-Year-Old Texan Takes the Crown as Fourth Season Wraps in Climactic Live Telecast

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — June 18, 2013 — NBC’s “The Voice” crowned Danielle Bradbery as the winner in tonight’s season finale, earning her the grand prize of a recording contract with Universal Music Group.

Bradbery, from Team Blake, beat out fellow finalists Michelle Chamuel and the Swon Brothers — all of whom performed on the telecast along with several other top musical acts.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher were the season-four coaches of the hit musical competition series.

Bradbery is a 16-year-old country artist from Texas who has never had a vocal lesson. With natural talent, her cousin encouraged her to start singing, and she soon had her first performance at a church festival. Bradbery cites Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride as her musical influences. Follow her on Twitter: @dbradbery.

“The Voice” ranked as the No. 1 reality show of the 2012-13 season, knocking “American Idol” out of the top spot for the first time in 10 years. The current cycle of “The Voice” ranked No. 1 in its timeslot in the 18-49 demo with every regular Monday and Tuesday telecast this cycle (excludes recaps).

“The Voice” returns for its fifth cycle in the fall.

“The Voice” is a presentation of Mark Burnett’s One Three Inc., Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who executive-produces along with Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Stijn Bakkers and Lee Metzger.

So how many wins is that for Blake? And who else has won? If I remember correctly, from what I heat Blake has 3 winners and Adam has 1?

I like the show in the Beginning if I have spare time but Don’t follow the show until the end. It would be nice to see The Voice bring a known artist to the industry like American Idol has done with Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry as a non-winner, Adam Lambert a runner up, Philip Philips had a hit song with home, Jordin Sparks, Kellie Pickler, and many more have all had moderate to plenty of success. Now it seems like the shows are all about celeb panels, somebody winning and barely hearing anything about the winner post music reality competition show!!

The Voice doesn’t produce superstars because all the truly talented people audition for Idol.

Cassadee will be a star and she is more talented than almost anyone I’ve heard that won american idol. Danielle is a phenomenal talent and will definitely be a star too if handled properly.

Either way I would rather watch a show where I enjoy the judges frankly. American Idol has been around a lot longer than the voice so to pass judgement so soon is a bit much.

    NBA Finals-12.3
    The Voice-9.7
    America’s Got Talent-7.4

The thing with “The Voice” is… it’s a good show, but at the end of the day they do not have a savvy team to promote the Winner’s career, like Idol does. Whenever someone wins Idol, they have a team that make sure their song gets exposure, that they go on talk-shows to perform it, etc

The winner of “The Voice” is technically signed to a label but has very little support behind them, and they don’t know to strike when the iron is hot

Oh, boy! I’m so excited to not remember who she is in 6 months!

I think four cycles of The Voice (or any show) is enough evidence to judge its merits and compare it to other shows.

The very first winner on this show (THE VOICE) sold 10,000 copies…before that he was an independent artist and sold 100,000 copies of his CD…

The VOICE did nothing to help his career!

Now I like THE VOICE show better than IDOL, but the winners on THE VOICE are not even SELLING as much as the runners-up on IDOL when they come out with their solo CD’s

That’s why I have little interest in The Voice. With maybe the exception of Blake, these “coaches” have nothing to do with their “team” after the cameras been turned off.

Look at Cassadee though from last season. Her single sold something like close to 160,000 copies in its first week of distribution. That was before the single even went to radio play. It went to radio just two weeks ago. I’m no expert but I’d say that’s a pretty good start.
