BIG BROTHER will unleash two new twists into the stylish, redesigned house this summer that will influence the strategic landscape of the game when it premieres on Wednesday, June 26 (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  Julie Chen is the host.

The first twist is a series’ first: instead of two Houseguests being nominated each week for eviction, as in past seasons, contestants will nominate three in this summer’s edition. This process will be further explained during the season premiere.

The second twist will allow BIG BROTHER viewers to play a crucial role in the game by casting votes for the Houseguest they feel is playing the best game.  The Houseguest who receives the most votes will be anointed that week’s, “Big Brother MVP.”  The full scope of the MVP’s secret power will be revealed during the season premiere.

America will start casting their votes for this season’s first “Big Brother MVP” before the Houseguests even enter the game, beginning with a pre-premiere vote starting Thursday, June 20, following CBS’s cast announcement of the new Houseguests.  Fans can visit http://www.cbs.com/big_brother/ to cast their vote.

“The Big Brother MVP will force the houseguests to rethink their strategies.  With America rewarding good game play, it doesn't pay to be a floater this summer,” said Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, Executive Producers of BIG BROTHER.

This season, the Houseguests will enjoy a stylish BIG BROTHER house with mid-century modern chic décor. The living room features a stacked stone fireplace filled with concrete balls and LED lighting and an eight foot brass starburst; the redesigned kitchen sits below a giant gold world map; the plush, spa-like bathroom is lined with cedar wood; and the bedrooms include an architect’s studio vibe and a crayon-colored room featuring Los Angeles landmarks.

The Head of Household suite is entirely black and white, including an aquarium of Koi flown in from Asia to bring good fortune.

The mid-century style of the BIG BROTHER house continues on host Julie Chen’s newly remodeled set.  The multi-story front of the house features a new high-gloss stage, a lighted runway and a massive 103 inch plasma screen, as well as several other screens, for Julie to monitor and communicate with the Houseguests.

Following the premiere on Wednesday, June 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), BIG BROTHER will be broadcast three nights weekly – Sundays (8:00 - 9:00 PM, ET/PT, beginning June 30), Tuesdays  (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, beginning July 2) and the LIVE eviction show hosted by Julie Chen will be broadcast on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT, beginning July 3).

BIG BROTHER follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 65 cameras and 98 microphones recording their every move, 24 hours a day.  Each week, the Houseguests will vote someone out of the house.  At the end, the last remaining House Guest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.

BIG BROTHER is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol U.S.A.

  • Mike

Wasn’t this MVP thing done in “The Glass House”?

  • hanp

Looking forward to this. I just hope they don’t bring previous HGs.

  • Rob R

No word yet on which veterans will return. We know some will.

  • Ccemerson

I presume this is still not shown in HD ??? Ugggggh Still Love this show regardless

  • DryedMangoez

And it’s still not in HD. Insanity.

  • Setheriel

I believe it was already announced, no returning house guests, all new cast this summer.

  • TV Addict

Ahhh!!! Too many changes, or I guess, three many changes?
    This will definitely be interesting.

  • Rockyy_

BB twist seems really bad_ but I hope theirs no old HG returns because I will probably stop watching . And CBS please can you put BB in HD damn its been 15 yrs no HD

  • Chris

They’ve already said no returning houseguests, and that there will be 16 new houseguests to start. Sounds like more could be added?

Also, when are they going to get it together and go HD? Surely they have the budget for it. Come on BB.

  • Rob R

They must not have the budget. There would have to be 50 HD cameras instead of the typical talk show or news show or soap opera which would have only 3 or 4.

  • Lake

Is the twist that there is more than one token black or gay person?

  • Tim

Big bore. Here’s a twist: putting this show to pasture.

  • Bob

I love this show so much!!!! So exciting.

  • Fakeem

LOL @ Lake… but that’s normal for tv aimed at “middle america”.
The View really broke ground by having 2 black hostsa the same time.
Hell, the Bachelor even said they would never have a “black” bachelor.
BB is in the middle of the pack as far as racism goes.

  • Frost

I don’t care if its HD as long as its widescreen. One Life To Life was in fake HD, aka 480i SD widescreen. I just want a picture to fit my tv, it’s distracting.

  • john

I personally do not want to see these people picking zits and applying deodorant in HD. You have to be some kind of weirdo to want that.

  • mike

    It,s getting old

  • Annie Orhan

Let me guess how many people from older shows are they gonna bring back this time one, two, half the cast……

I’m so sick of them bringing back people that have already had a chance…….

  • ronnie

Please do not bring old players back I do not enjoy watching them again and again they had there day now lets move on
