I don’t care what anybody says about PLL I think quality wise it’s the best ABC Family has plus those ratings aren’t too shabby either.

  • Deano

What Bunheads has in it’s favor is critical recognition (ABCFAM loves that after being just the pregnant teen network for so long) and a true genius of a show creator who they would like to keep a relationship with.
What Lying Game has in it’s favor is a really devoted following.
What Switched has is steadiness, plus being very PC and approved of by deaf groups, etc. But now The Fosters has that, too. It’s gotten the same kinds of press and will get all those kinds of awards.
Bunheads and Switched are produced by ABCFAM, The Lying Game I do not believe is so. I think The Lying Game really hit it’s stride but might be too little, too late if the deadline is July – they can only hold the actors for so long before letting them get other types of work. Usually this network only picks up two or three series, and it already picked up Chasing Life and the PLL spinoff.

  • Brandy

On a Lying Game note,Tyler Christopher(Dan Whitehorse) is now under contract with General Hospital.Rumors say he will do both, but this may not be a good sign.Adrian Pasdar also is on Burn Notice.

  • jmk

curious as to why ABC Family doesn’t have original programming on Thursdays. Only Mon-Wed.

  • Nikki

Yeah but Adrians character on TLG looked pretty dead to me.. so im sure they had a plan. And to be honest TLG probably wont be back.. the actors are really good on that show. Alex is incredible at what she does.. shes going to do bigger things anyways. But ill be sad to see it go. And on another note if dans character was to go on say a road trip to clear his head after his wife died they could pull off him doing both.

And on a Bunheads note, they do like ASP and im guessing they want to stay in good terms with her. And the show itself has got some really good press.. so im sure the network liked to see that. But either way newither show deserves to be canceled its just all about the money. I guess.

  • Brandy

@JMK, I dont think they can afford to.They only progrsm Wed during summer.

  • DonJ1973

I predict Pretty Little Liars will run at least 7 seasons.

Beyond that, the girls will start to get noticeably older looking, specifically Troian Bellisario.

  • DonJ1973

The Lying Game is dead. It’s been way too long now for them to greenlight the back half of season 2. Plus, I think people are moving to other jobs.

Blair Redford recently guest starred on Switched at Birth playing the character he played in season 1. I could see him coming back as a recurring character.

  • Tony JJ

Why do people have a problem with ABC Family repeating Twisted so much. That’s the beauty of cable and that’s why cable shows can grow because people can catch up and watch when they repeat them. It’s a luxury that broadcast networks can’t do. Jersey Shore started with a million viewers and went on to hit 9 million. True blood started with a million and hit a high of 5 or 6 million. Walking Dead grew into a powerhouse most likely because of marathons and repeats.

  • Dave

    @Tony JJ

Because apparently ABCF never did that with the faltering Lying Game and Bunheads.

Twisted is the first show that I ever stuck around for after watching PLL and I think it’s pretty good so far. I could see the show becoming a staple series for the network if it continues to produce interesting episodes. The cast(especially the main 3) is well rounded and the kids can actually act.

ABCF tried with the TLG but isn’t working and Bunheads has already fallen under one million so that cancellation should go without mentioning.

  • Tom

“What Bunheads has in it’s favor is critical recognition….”

There’s no doubt that. ABCF knows how special Bunheads is which probably explains why the show hasn’t been formally cancelled. However, audiences simply haven’t felt the same way. That’s why Bunheads finished its run with five consecutive 0.4 rated programs. Worse, none of these were seen by much more than a million viewers. If Bunheads couldn’t attract a respectable audience late last season, why would it do any better in the future? It’s heartbreaking to say, but ABCF shouldn’t be too hard pressed to come up with any number of shows that could easily get better ratings.

  • Ray

Great for Pretty Little Liars!! Really hope they keep Mona working with the Liars I enjoy her more when she is good well as good as Mona can be..lol

  • Jenny

I’m not sure Twisted is doing all that well. It’s still at 53%, and abc family aired the repeat a bajillion times. Wouldn’t be shocked to see it drop. Not seeing much positive buzz.

  • Alan

The Fosters (9:00) – ABC Family
    1.250 million viewers, #22; 0.598 million adults 18-49 (0.5 rating), #17

I would consider it dead, unless it bounces back next week. 1.25/0.5 is not good for a third episode of a new show. Maybe if it keeps dropping, they will save The Lying Game.

  • zilla-rilla

pretty little liars wins two weeks in a row. I must say, I LOVE THIS.

  • Grant

@Brandy/Nikki you 2 are Awesome. As a HUGE T.L.G. fan it getting canceled would be one of the biggest heart breaks in t.v. I’ve ever had. (it NEEDS an ending in the very least)

  • Kate

The Lying Game has been treated pretty badly by ABCF, so I’ve kind of stopped holding out for a miracle renewal. There are too many shows going on/in production for the latter half of this year and early 2014 that I can’t really see where TLG would fit anymore.

  • NotSo

Alan. The Fosters numbers were adjusted up to 1.33 Million. And it was up against The Voice Finale. I predict a big bounce back next week.
