Hannibal - Season 1

Tonight sees the finale of renewed crime drama Hannibal, one of the most divisive shows regularly discussed on TVBTN. Last week the show hit a new low 0.7 adults 18-49 rating against game 4 of the NBA Finals. Tonight, the competition is even more intense against Game 7.  Is another new low in store? Or will fans show up and help the series rebound? Cast your vote below and tell us why in the comments.

@ immortal , Southland. Which was then shopped to cable.

  • roly

Hope people give it a boost.

  • Seanmom

I don’t care how many other people watch it, as long as I get to. Although we might all get jammed up if the murder suspect ball player decides to crawl down the freeway in a white SUV tonight!

  • al

Wow, lots of people seem to think it’ll do 1.0 or better (it’s the minority, sure, but still 17% while the most voted option amounts to 25%).

That’d be a really huge boost if you consider how many people ditched it last week for game 4.

Anything below 0.6 and above 0.8 will surprise me.

    @ Immortal

Has there ever been one or more tv shows, that were first renewed (for example – for season 2), but then cancelled again (which would mean no season 2 after all), because of falling ratings towards the end of the running season

I don’t think so. Sometime when ratings fall networks try to move it to cable. If the Show is too low rated it will air on Saturday or during Summer.

    @ Immortal

Don’t worry it won’t happen to Hannibal. It’s too cheap for NBC to “un-renew” it :)

  • Immortal

    @ Alice and CBSviewer

thx so fare, Southland was quite interesting. Hannibal was kind of a good example for the situation regarding the ratings. I mean DVRs etc. can only do so much. Since “un-canceling” has happened quite a few times, I was interested, if the opposite exists. To “un-renew” a show is worse than just canceling it. ;-)

this show is the next Harry’s Law and Smash

it got a potty renewal won’t make it past season 2

  • Ch

    HAHA Oops meant ‘Pitty

  • DenverDean

Considering it was pre-empted for some lame PC reason earlier in the season, why wouldn’t NBC postpone this episode until next Thursday?

  • Bitter Ringer Fan

Seriously I wouldn’t judge NBC if they decide to “unrenew” the show and cancel it. The ratings are sad, even family tools is beating it now.

  • HV

    Parks and Recreation R 0.1
    Parks and Recreation R 0.1
    The Office R 0.2
    The Office R 0.2
    Hannibal 0.3

If this game wasn’t game 7, I would say 0.6. If there was no game at all, I would say 1.0.

  • brian

0.7. Predict it somehow holds steady against Game 7. If the Spurs managed to win out, it might have ended up higher than that.

  • tv_viewer

    My predictions:

Parks and Recreation 0.5 (8 pm and 8:30 pm repeat episodes)
The Office 0.5 (9 pm repeat episodes)
    Hannibal 0.7 (season 1 finale)

NBC aired two hours of Betty White shows and a Saturday Night Live special against Super Bowl 47. The Betty White repeats earned ratings from 0.3 to 0.5. The Saturday Night Live special garnered a 0.5 rating.

I made fun of Matthew Perry when his show Go On was beaten by Betty White’s Off Their Rockers several times in 2013.

Amy Poehler will probably save face and her show will at least match Betty’s ratings on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Office will probably do as well as it did against Game 4 last Thursday.

Last week Hannibal was clearly hurt by game 4 of the NBA finals but I believe the remaining fans will stick around and see the season finale.

  • Kenny

I love Hannibal, but at this point they would’ve been better off keeping Deception

  • Hardline_Pro

Just watched the season finale of Hannibal. I’m so glad that this show got renewed for Season 2. The ending was crazy!

  • Chris

If there was an option on the poll for “Not as high as a show this good deserves,” I’d vote for that. I’m so glad the money worked out and we’re getting another 13 episodes next year.

  • Hi

NBC at CW’s numbers… Oh boy

  • Lonnie

I’d say 28 million total viewers and a 11.6 Demo

  • CBSviewer

I’m a big fan of Hannibal but 21.55% think it will rate higher than a 1.0. Seriously ?
