ooga-booga…I’m just glad it’s over. Negrodamus predicted the winner months ago. It was the television network.

You tinfoil hat conspiracists that think the series was fixed defy logic. If it was fixed for the Heat to win, then why did the Spurs shoot far more free throws? Obviously, the refs weren’t in on it. Players making millions of dollars a year with many more millions in endorsements up in the air obviously can’t be bought.

Miami won because they made the shots, while the Spurs didn’t. Pretty simple if you have any common sense. Unlike baseball where there is no salary cap, basketball teams’ salaries are capped. Players like LeBron and D-Wade actually took pretty big pay CUTS to play for the Heat.

But I bet the ratings from WEWS in my area were abysmal because of it being LeBurn and the Miami Cheat.

I guess a lot of folks like to watch gangbangers play rugby round ball. Sure wish we could see a basketball game that is played within the rules. IE, where fouling, traveling, etc. are considered fouls. I wonder how many of these guys could dunk a ball if they couldn’t take 3 + steps. Oh well.

  • Blackclouds

Frankly, these are great ratings for a league that is predominantly black. You would’ve thought that Lebron was President Obama with the hatred and vitriol that is being spewed. Haters eating crow just like when Obama get reelected. Deal with it. Nobody cares about the NHL. It’s nothing but a sport of thugs who are allowed to fight and act like backward douchebags. The people who watch it are thugs too.

  • josetoyou

It is just a damn game, played by people who should have been janitors.
I don’t get the obsession with following “professional” sports in this country.
I have never bought a ticket, and will never do so.
There is a sucker born every minute, and most are uneducated and working minimum wage jobs, if working at all…

@LOL, some of you all saying the game was “fixed” in Miami’s favor, are just full of it!! It is just a game people, sore losers much? This was a wonderful series and congrats to the Heat for the repeat and to the Spurs for playing a great series and making it very exciting. The Spurs had several chances to win and close it out in Game 6, but they messed up, so deal with it!! If you don’t like the NBA, or the Heat for that matter, that is just fine, but to come on here and talk a bunch of BS is just a total waste of time. People just want to complain for the sake of complaining, how sad.

People saying it was fixed. How can it be fix? Did you watch game 6? Spurs had a 5 point lead with 28 seconds to go. Did they fix it so Ginobili and Leonard can miss two crucial free-throws at the end. Did they also fix it so the ball can bounce towards Bosh to grab the rebound and pass it to Allen for the tie. Come-on.

  • JR

I was definitely rooting against the Heat, but all of these conspiracy theorist saying the game was fixed are just pathetic. The Spurs ran out of gas, and should have won in the Game 6. It’s as simple as that. All of the vaguely racist comments referring to the players as gang bangers or thugs are also sad, but not surprising. The Spurs are one of the classiest teams in the NBA, and while I’m not a fan, Lebron and the rest of the guys on the Heat also seem like decent guys. But I guess since the majority of players are black, and come from humble beginnings they therefore must be gang members, apparently.

Ignore the trolls. If you don’t like the NBA, just don’t watch. How simple is that?

Lebron, cabron, take that trophy and shove it were the sun don’t shine

It’s poor writing to raise a question thanks to a one ended comparison. You report this was the second highest rated program of its kind, but fail to include the broadcast that was number one. I forgive you this time. I’m sure it won’t happen again.

ahhh my hockey fans! .. what to do what to do ……looks like you hating basketball because blacks are playing and loving hockey because you deem it white just isn’t working out for you – is it?

Those tall black men (and truth be told, latin, white and asian men too) are getting paaaaidd!! and u can’t do a darn thing about it – can u? how it sticks in your craws to see the adulation attention and coverage that the NBA gets – while hockey, your sole sports vehicle for venting racial bile (golf is gone Tiger killed it, Williams sisters killed Tennis too) – hockey is just ignored and struggling ..nay … desperate and begging for some love within these great USA.

Hey lets hope the rest of the NHL playoff games break 7.5million this season OK (see I’m not just critical but encouraging too). Maybe then it could really give the “Inside the NBA program” (that airs at midnight usually) a run for its money. :)

Unbelievable comments here. Alot of racism but that’s to be expected when something involving minorities captures the nation. I guess white racists will never be smart enough to figure out the appeal of the nba and sports in general. I’m sure ABC smiled at these numbers. Its not an nfl rating but no sport can compare to the popularity of the nfl. I also didn’t know Tim Duncan and Tony Parker were “gangbangers”. Smh at this ignorance..
