-Friday's Ratings Via TV Media Insights
Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Can’t believe im saying this but im gonna miss Rock Center. It was a nice little news show.

Wow at The Following repeat being so low! It doesn’t mean anything but still.

  • sally

I watched Hawaii 50 and Blue Bloods

  • John A

CW and Fox close at 9pm.

  • CBSviewer

There is only 0.1 between Supernatural and The Following

  • Paleonut

Nice to see Supernatural repeating well on it’s second night of the week :-)

  • GARY

Nikita, the little engine that could!

  • peter

Nikita must be one of the serialized shows on TV that drops the least between new episodes and repeats.

  • david

Yah i am really goig to miss Rock Center too. I enjoyed it every Friday night for the last couple of months. They did alot of good reporting on there like the story last night about the people being payed 26 cense an hour by Goodwill. That is terrible they do that .

  • Ram510

No need for apologies, I think the half hour chart is better

  • FLOP detector

    The FLOPping

  • John A

I wonder how Nikita might have done as a Summer Series. Thats a good repeat rating.

  • A

Baseball was on the CW in NY, so Nikita is inflated.

  • Joseph

Very low viewing levels for a Friday night.

The triple-threat of movies (“Man Of Steel”, “Monsters U” and “World War Z”) earned over $68 million between them yesterday (Friday), according to Box Office Mojo.com.

And there were no sports playoffs to help viewing.

  • Joseph

Another factor cutting into ratings was the fact that severe weather resulted in a massive 0power outage in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area last night (June 21st).

Although not a major market, the blackout probably did cut network viewing levels by 100,000 to 200,000 persons.

  • Nick

    I hope What Would You Do isn’t cancelled… It’s a nice show.

  • colt13

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Rock Center be resurrected. People that cut back on cable want good reporting too.

  • John A

So what will air instead of Rock Center?

  • Danimals

They should really move Nikita from mid-season to summer, cause its repeat numbers are matching new episodes.

  • Ultima

    @John A
So what will air instead of Rock Center?

They have a news special next week, then Dateline moves to 9-11pm with summer drama repeats at 8pm.

  • Jacobo

    @Joseph
Plus the metro stations keep cutting in and out all night. I couldn’t watch WWYD. I know KARE lost transmission for awhile.
