Under the Dome

No summer series has been more highly anticipated than Under the Dome. Based on a bestselling Stephen King novel, executive produced by A-list showrunner Neal Baer and with a cast that includes Dean Norris, Rachelle Lefevre and Britt Robertson, this is one summer show that isn't debuting after the official end of the season because of a lack of network confidence. It's intended to be a big event. So how big do you think its premiere tonight will be?  Make your predictions below.

  • Samunto

CBS struggled to get a 2.0 in the time slot last season i simply don’t see how this could rate high.

    1.6 it is!

  • DJB

I think it will do pretty good. I really enjoyed the book, and I’m looking forward to it!

  • Dennis

1.5 with around 8 or 9 million viewers.

    I’ll be watching for sure

  • gerry

premiere around 2.0 and drop a bit next week.

  • rob60990

seriously with this poll? It’ll be lucky to crack a 1.5. 1.2 is my guess.

  • Fred

Looks like a really good summer series. Reviews are above average.
2.5 for premiere. Not sure about thereafter.
Caught Devious Maids. Good summer sudsy drama. ABC should have picked it up.
    Would have worked with Mistresses.

  • Andy

It’s on the wrong network to score really well. It also has a rough timeslot for CBS. 1.7 is what I’m guessing. I’d love for it to crack a 2.

  • John A

2.0. Ill probably check it out.

  • Wright

3.0….I’m an optomist. Plus it’s Stephen King and Steven Spielberg.

  • Californiadgd

    2.1-2.2, I can’t wait! :)

  • gigi

no matter how it rates, it already brought giant benefits by being sold to 200+ countries ;) personally I feel it will outrate H5-O.

  • Survivor Fan

1.9, narrowly beating The Winner Is for the #1 new show premiere.

  • Anna Bones Clarkwood

Is this a ‘limited/mini series’ type show? Meaning, not multiple seasons?

I have yet to read the book but even so, that doesn’t mean the show couldn’t outlive the book, as long as not everything in the book is destroyed in the end, that is.

  • Jay

    Wow, people are very optimistic…

  • Hubert R.

    @Anna,
yes, the show was said in all trailers to be a mini-series summer event. so I don’t expect future seasons ;)

  • MARSEPH

I’m usually iffy with summer shows, especially scripted but this show IMO could of debuted in the fall (ya it sounds that solid).

    2.9/11 million

  • Dan S

I feel comfortable in saying 2.5-2.6 for its premiere. There’s a lot of good buzz & good reviews for this show. CBS has said that if it does well there open to bringing it back again next summer. It has relatively light competition so I feel CBS has a winner.

  • Dennis

    Ehh I don’t think it’s limited….

One of the stars of the following, Natalie Zea has signed on to appear from episode 9 onwards, and for season 2 if it gets picked up

  • hanp

Is it just me or I don’t think its highly promoted. But then again, I havent been watching CBS (or the other network) since the regular TV season ended.

  • SJ

    2.6 at least.
