It’s been the most consistently entertaining of the competition-based reality shows, but the ratings continue to drop each season. The last few seasons haven’t been as good, as they’ve casted too many contemporary dancers with zero personality. But this season looks like it could be better.

But Nigel’s star at Fox has to be dropping faster than a rock, after the Idol fiasco this year. Fox already took away the SYTYCD results show last year, and I’m guessing if the ratings slide continues this season, this may be it for the show. It’s too bad.

Personally I can’t figure out how a guy like Nigel could have blown it so bad with Idol. It was clear to everyone what Idol’s problems have been the last few seasons, but he just refused to fix any of them. Just continued on with the same crap, endlessly stupid audition episodes, and live shows featuring exciting themes like the music of Englebert Humperdink. And now his screwups there are threatening SYTYCD’s future.

@steve I know, last season Cyrus was a breath of fresh air. now this season looks more diverse, i hope its not too late. Idol will get better, Simon fuller looks like he’ll fix it all. I hope ratings dont fall any more, hope it levels at 1.9 and up and fox renews dance for another season
