Guzman represents the Dominican Republic with an overall record of 33-1-1 with 20 knockouts and will seek to redeem himself after suffering the only loss of his career so far against Russian Khabib Allakhverdiev for the WBA Super Lightweight Title on November 30 of last year. Before that fight, Guzman’s record in world title fights had been an impressive 7-1-1 with 2 KO’s.
Mosquera is currently ranked sixth in the WBA rankings and boasts a 32-2-1 career record with 17 knockouts on his resumé. The Puerto Caimito, Panama native had been arrested for driving under the influence in July of 2011m but he has bounced back since then and is undefeated with eight wins in the same number of fights since his return to the ring in February 2012.
Only one of these two fighters will be crowned champion on “Boxeo Telemundo”, home to the best Latin boxers.
