Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous

MTV has canceled its low rated comedy Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous. MTV told The Hollywood Reporter, "After careful consideration of many factors, we have ultimately decided not to move forward with an additional season of the series. We wish Bo, the cast and the entire production crew the very best."

The final three episodes of the series will air this week. The show consistently failed to crack our top 100 cable programs list, It premiered to 650,000 total Viewers. The audience for its most recent episodes have declined to about half of that number.

    Apparently he won’t be famous

  • John

this show was definitely the best show mtv has had in a long time. i think it was just too different for a lot of people and the episodes were never reaired for people to get a chance to catch up. very funny though sad to see it go.

  • Jacobo

I thought it was a dumb show.

  • Jason

I enjoyed the show. Wish it had done better.

  • Jenny

Never watched it, and barely saw it promoted. Did MTV pull the same crap with giving it no lead-in? Ala, Underemployed?

  • dust

Hey John, it wasn’t too different for me, it sucked.

  • psychic

Guess he’s not going to be famous.

  • Topper

Some people will say it got low ratings because it was too smart of a concept for MTV. Not the case. Just wasn’t that funny, character was annoying, no reason to root for him

  • Travis

I love Bo, hope he will have more success somewhere else.

  • Bitter Ringer Fan

Never even heard of it but with those numbers i’m not surprised i didn’t, I guess i wasn’t the only one.

  • Jared

Huge Flop. MTV can’t catch a break launching new series. Stop with these stupid comedies and try a drama. Teen Wolf is a hit and could use a companion series. Whats going on with the Scream pilot? Sounds like an ideal series for the network.

  • FLOP Detector

    ZACH STONE IS GONNA FLOP.

  • Fox

I’ve seen better projects on youtube.

  • Dan

Zach Stone is Gonna Be Cancelled. I wish MTV would bring back Inbetweeners, RJ Berger, IJWMPB, and Beavis and Butthead.

  • Donof

Great show, a little too smart and clever for the MTV crowd.

    Sara,

Could the site set up a “cancelled” tag?

I think it would be pretty interesting to see what ratings cancelled shows average/conclude on, for a variety of networks.

The “cancelled” tag would allow site visitors to do this analysis themselves.

    Thanks.

He started on you tube. His stand up comedy was funny to me. He has a special that’s available on Netflix. Some people will get it some will not. He’s very smart and his style of comedy shows it. Good luck Bo.

  • Topper

People “get it”, its just not funny.

  • Braedyn

This show was thoroughly entertaining. It WAS funny and it had its serious moments too. It was clever and witty. The showade you smile.

This show was hilarious! It had a smart cast with great acting talent. I mean they were all very believable. It really felt like a real reality/Youtube show. Except of course for Zach, because, who in life really has that much character? … cough*Toby Turner*cough… By the way did anyone else realize Biff from “Back to the Future” was the father? Yeah sure Zach was annoying at times and we all thought how can this kid be so idiotic, but at least the show was self aware in its own context. That alone accomplishes more than most other so-called “reality” TV shows on MTV. Who fool its audience to believe their shows are authentic and the real deal. Seriously, those shows are worse than soap operas with their over the top acting and dramatics. I especially loved when Zach was not aware of the cameras snooping on his personal life so that we can see Zachs true character shine without the psuedo persona that he displays for “America”. Remember Bo is playing a kid fresh out of high school dealing with his inner emotions and aspirations. I find that very relatable for myself and i would think most people out there. I honestly think though that the ending of the season was satisfactory albeit left on a dark note. Because again these are kids who don’t know what they are getting themselves into. It should not have been cancelled and left to run its course. That universe is believable as is and does not need to be added upon. This show is ahead of its time by a year or maybe two and I wish all the best for Bo and the crew who made this show possible.
