TNT Orders Fourth Season of Epic Series Falling Skies,

Basic Cable's #1 Summer Drama with Key Adult Demos

Noah Wyle Stars in Series from DreamWorks Television

TNT has ordered a fourth season of Falling Skies, the epic drama produced by DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg and starring Noah Wyle. Currently airing Sundays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), Falling Skies is averaging 5.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery and ranks as basic cable's #1 scripted series with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the summer-to-date. TNT plans to launch the 10-episode fourth season in summer 2014.

Falling Skies tells the extraordinary tale of life and survival in the wake of a catastrophic alien invasion. Wyle plays Tom Mason, a college professor who becomes an unlikely resistance leader after a massive invasion by an alien force. The series also stars Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho, Colin Cunningham and Sarah Carter. Among the guest stars this season on Falling Skies are Gloria Reuben, Robert Sean Leonard, Stephen Collins and Doug Jones.

Falling Skies premiered in summer 2011 and ranked as basic cable’s #1 new series of the year. The series returned with strong numbers last year, averaging 5.6 million viewers in Live + 7 and ranking as basic cable's #1 summer drama with adults 25-54.

In addition to Spielberg, season 3 of Falling Skies is executive-produced by DreamWorks Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, along with Remi Aubuchon and Greg Beeman.

No surprise. I hope they go back to basics with the show. They need to leave Charleston as this season has not been great (so far).

  • The End

    Boom, that was fast :)

  • Pat

Good for the show! It has had good ratings for TNT all season across the board.

Rizzoli and Isles and Major Crimes should be renewed shortly for new seasons too. Perception, probably will be, but a few more episodes will need to be aired first to see how it holds up.

Franklin & Bash, King & Maxwell, The Hero and 72 Hours all appear to be in some trouble (or ALOT) of trouble.

  • Dennis

I’m really bored with this show….

season 3 is definitly its worst so far..very poor

  • Brian

I’m not thrilled with the alien baby storyline. A little too cheezy.

  • Dennis

@Brian I agree.. and the volm are just ridiculous( look ridiculous, sound ridiculous)

  • The End

Why so negative? They’re just not important to the story yet.

  • Dennis

    @The End

Because I’m very dissapointed with this show….

I loved it in season 1 when everyone else seemed to hate it and want it to fail…it got a bit better in season 2, and now halfway through season 3, it’s been pretty awful…thinking of calling it quits.

First one of my shows this year thats been renewed and I honestly couldnt care less

  • The End

While I respect your opinion, just stick with it. I bet in 5 weeks time, you’ll be singing praise of the Volm.

  • John A

Great news. Thanks for not letting us wait TNT like you did so long with Dallas.

  • lostboy

Never thought I would agree with Dennis. I hate this show S1 was total crap and a rip off of V, Red Dawn and Jericho. Pretty awful writing, acting and it has been renewed for a 4th Season. Man Revolution will definietly get 5 seasons on NBC.

  • DeeAgeaux

Season 1 was the worst by far.

Same show. Every week. Running away. Making cheezy references to the American Revolutionary War.

    Season 2 much better.

Season 3 just got started and we don’t know where it is going quite yet.

    Unlike Season 1.

  • Raul

Yes! It’s television most epic series. Season 3 is okay ur could be better, hate what there doing to Anne and the baby

  • The Famous Gary C

Looking forward to next season !!!!!

  • steve

“Falling Skies” isn’t nearly as good as many scifi shows cancelled in recent years. It’s too bad that a show like this gets three times the viewers as far superior shows like Stargate Universe and Caprica received.

  • Fake Me Out

I had a lot of issues with S1, thought S2 was much better all around but so far this year I’m kinda left “meh” … storyline isn’t doing much for me, don’t have many things to gripe about and the young actors are far above where they were S1 … hope they’re taking a slow route to a big finish.

  • Dan

Good Rizzoli & Isles and Falling Skies are hits, Major Crimes and Perception are doing OK and will probably get third seasons, Dallas is returning next year and F&B and King & Maxwell may be in trouble but I think 1 of the two will be given another chance.

  • The End

@as far superior shows like Stargate Universe and Caprica received.

I genuinely lol’d when I saw this. Kudos Sir, great joke.

  • Felipe Nikita

this season has been awful, sorry

  • DiegoC

    I miss V. =/
