TNT Orders Fourth Season of Epic Series Falling Skies,

Basic Cable's #1 Summer Drama with Key Adult Demos

Noah Wyle Stars in Series from DreamWorks Television

And Executive Producer Steven Spielberg

TNT has ordered a fourth season of Falling Skies, the epic drama produced by DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg and starring Noah Wyle. Currently airing Sundays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), Falling Skies is averaging 5.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery and ranks as basic cable's #1 scripted series with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the summer-to-date. TNT plans to launch the 10-episode fourth season in summer 2014.

Falling Skies tells the extraordinary tale of life and survival in the wake of a catastrophic alien invasion. Wyle plays Tom Mason, a college professor who becomes an unlikely resistance leader after a massive invasion by an alien force. The series also stars Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho, Colin Cunningham and Sarah Carter. Among the guest stars this season on Falling Skies are Gloria Reuben, Robert Sean Leonard, Stephen Collins and Doug Jones.

Falling Skies premiered in summer 2011 and ranked as basic cable’s #1 new series of the year. The series returned with strong numbers last year, averaging 5.6 million viewers in Live + 7 and ranking as basic cable's #1 summer drama with adults 25-54.

In addition to Spielberg, season 3 of Falling Skies is executive-produced by DreamWorks Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, along with Remi Aubuchon and Greg Beeman.

    For being so highly rated on TNT = demos, they sure don’t give it love with 15 episode seasons. Ten just doesn’t cut it.

  • TV Addict

    I love Falling Skies no matter what and I am incredibly happy that it got renewed.
    I hope it goes on for a bunch of seasons, but still manages to have a proper ending when the time comes.

    TNT RENEWAL PREDICTIONS:

    Falling Skies= RENEWED
    Major Crimes=RENEWED
    Rizzoli & Isles=RENEWED
    Perception=UNSURE (leaning towards RENEWED)
    King & Maxwell=CANCELLED
    Franklin & Bash=UNSURE (leaning towards CANCELLED)

    TNT has alot of promising new shows coming out this Late 2013/2014 and they will have to make room for them. The Last Ship seems like an obvious companion show to Falling Skies. Legends actually looks decent. Lost Angels looks very promising. Interesting move, TNT. I like how your straying away from procedurals.

  • CCV

    The writing seemed to be improving in the second season, but it’s gone back to mostly mediocre. Pope and the crazy scientist–dude from House–are the only interesting characters. No one else on the show has any kind of personality. But it’s TNT, don’t expect much better.

  • Oliver

    It would probably be in trouble if TNT wasn’t struggling so much.

  • Ram510

    It’s too bad V wasnt saved

    @DenverDean

    The show wraps just before Christmas every year. More than 10 episodes wouldn’t fit the production schedule.

  • james

    anyone else think this show is like the alien version of the walking dead?

    not saying it copied or anything, just similar and both very good!

  • KarenM

    Too bad because this season’s really bad.

  • KarenM

    @The End, name calling? Very immature of you. I’m trashing the show because this season’s horrid. I actually stopped watching it once the baby talked. Maybe you like brain-dead shows like this. I don’t.

  • AppleStinx

    Be careful with the name-calling, or TVbtN may close this section to commenters. :wink:

  • The End

    Someones copying my name, which can be verified by the admin here as I’ve used the same IP address here for years.

    I’ve never insulted anyone here, someone is trying to get me banned.

  • The End

    @KarenM

    Ugh sorry, I have some kind of weird stalker copying my name on here. That wasn’t me who aimed those horrible comments at you, if an admin is around they can verify that our IP addresses are different, and if they check other topics I’ve commented on over the years, with the same IP address no less this can be verified quite quickly.

    Not sure why someone felt the need to do that to be honest. I only have my opinion on stuff I’ve heard and nothing more prior to this weirdo copying my name.

  • simsalabim

    That crapfest is renewed, so will be the boring crime dramas. The only gritty good show that was on TNT was cancelled. I’m done with that station for now, nothing worth my time, ’cause it seems the DON’T know drama at all.

  • The End

    Any chance of Admin intervention on this topic please? Could you look at the IP address of the guy who copied my name, starting from ‘The End is Dead’ to the 2 following comments below.

  • The End

    The 2 above comments are likely the same troll copying my name here.

  • USAmerica1st

    This show has definitely gotten better; they are ‘pulling out the stops’, which is good considering the fact that shows like The Event, V, and TerraNova did not and got eaten by the Cancellation Bear early on.

  • Holly

    @The End,

    I’d recommend getting a gravatar to distinguish you from the copycat. Instructions are right above the comment box.

  • The End

    Seriously, where is an admin when you need one? I have some irritating basement dweller copying my name here. Your own website rules state that ghosting someones name is against the rules, so why haven’t you IP banned the troll doing this?

  • The End

    @Holly

    Too much effort with very little gain. There’s nothing stopping the troll from copying the picture I use and continuing this. Robert and Bill need to switch to something like Disqus so people have to have accounts here, it’ll reduce the trolls significantly.

    Anyway I’m not going to bother with this topic until someone bothers to come along and sort this out.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.
