True blood At Last

True Blood was Sunday's top cable program with a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, up from last week's 2.2. Keeping Up with the Kardashians came in second with a 1.3 up from last week's 1.1.

We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our principal source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in the top 100.

The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search for specific shows.

    @Tony JJ

    He seems to be obsessed with me, and I think he likely isn’t right in the head personally. He’s unable to let it go, even after being banned/having most of his posts removed. I thought this nonsense was over and done with personally, and then he appears today.. shrug.

    No doubt this will end with an admin intervening again and banning him again.

  • Juan

    Normally the bar is low for shows on premium networks because they are more concerned about attracting unique viewers. Donovan’s drawing about 1/2 as many viewers that matter as Dexter but if a good % of them don’t watch Dexter that would normally be a good thing for SHO. But Dexter is coming to an end. It’s more important for SHO to deliver a show likely to draw in most Dexter viewers. So far, Donovan’s not that show.

  • Skylar James

    @CAS: what’s so bad about Remi? Its a great international legitimate name! Better than John and Bill and Jack that are abundant in every show

  • Juan

    Did Newsroom follow True Blood? If so, failing to make the list is a bad sign. HBO should dump it after this season. Even on a premium network, a season premiere should still have to make this list to survive.

  • James C.

    I wonder if Lipstick Jungle, Cashmere Mafia, GCB and others would have succeeded on Lifetime?

  • Michael

    Devious Maids continue to grow week-to-week on Lifetime! Positive sign, the show is starting to find its audience! I wonder, what the show would have done on ABC during the Summer schedule.

  • The End

    @Michael

    I think the show would of flat lined personally. It seems to be a better fit for Cable and Lifetime. I caught the first episode not too long ago and don’t think it would survive on a non cable network during Summer.

    I think it’ll be renewed with these numbers.

  • JR

    @Juan

    Newsroom premieres this week. The finale of Family Tree aired after True Blood this past Sunday.

  • Dennis

    @Juan

    The Newsroom doesn’t premiere till THIS sunday.

    The killing will more then likely get a 4th season… The ratings are more or less in line with season 2, its relatively cheap because of the lucrative netflix deal its got, and this season is being alot more well received then last

  • reallypeople

    @Juan

    No, it did not. The Newsroom premieres this Sunday after True Blood.

    Also, there’s no reason to believe or think that The Killing is amazingly cheap or any less expensive than, say, Hell on Wheels… which burned down its entire set and cut cast to lower its cost. Certainly, with the addition of Ry Robbins and Peter Sarsgaard (and the additional promotion for this season/new case).. if anything the cost went up as well as the expectations. Even remaining “on par” is an extreme disappointment for both AMC and Netflix. It won’t be renewed unless Netflix increases its money dump, as it’s going to need to be even promoted harder next year with some other sort of trick casting to reign in viewership. AMC can fill anything in and reach those numbers besides its reality crap. And with MM ending next season, its right now rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Maybe it’ll get a miracle save… maybe it won’t…

  • reallypeople

    Also, I would like to point out to those who keep saying “it’s in line with season 2’s numbers so it will be renewed.” Wrong. It was cancelled by AMC with those numbers. (Which was the correct because they were replaceable and subpar for a cable show).

    It was saved by Netflix sharing cost. But with that (a lot of the cost savings went to promotion and casting) came the expectation that with increased visibility, a change in the structure (one case resolved in one year), and casting that the viewership would dramatically increase. Certainly, no one said “yay! let’s resurrect a cancelled show and invest resources into it so that it can, at best, do the same unacceptable numbers that axed it in the first place.” Seriously.

    If it survives (quality aside) it will take a unusual gesture of goodwill and stubbornness from those cost sharers (Netflix). Not outside the realm of possibility but the, lowly, ratings will not be the reason the renewal was justified.

  • Dennis

    @Reallypeople

    “if anything the cost went up as well as the expectations. Even remaining “on par” is an extreme disappointment for both AMC and Netflix”

    you really have no idea what AMC’s expectations were.

    They cancelled it after a decrease in viewership and bad reviews… who’s to say they arent breathing a sigh of relieve that it hasn’t fallen further then last year?

    And it will be cheaper then other shows because of the netflix deal.
    Netflix get to screen the season only 3 months after the season ends, and new episodes go up every monday morning on netflix uk.

    I’m going to say now, it will get a 4th season. It wont be announced till maybe late september or october though

  • Greg

    @Juan I think most people who watch Dexter watch another Showtime series. If Ray Donovan could keep these numbers all of season one, it would be a huge success for Showtime.

  • The End

    I think it’s safe to say that The Walking Deads success has upped expectations at AMC, not to a degree that other shows have to match it, but more to a degree that you can’t pull The Killing numbers and expect to be renewed for further seasons. Mad Men level numbers seems to be the level they’re happy with.

  • Dennis

    Also its very possible the Killing Season 3 average is better then season 2 when the season is finished

    The Killing Season 3 Episode 7: 1.6 Million Viewers 0.5
    The Killing Season 2 Episode 7: 1.3 Million Viewers 0.3

  • Sarah

    I wonder if family tree will get renewed?

  • Dennis

    @The End

    The thing is though,

    Nothing on AMC will ever rate as good as Walking Dead

  • reallypeople

    @Dennis

    Because NO network ever jumps for joy at a show remaining “on par” (which it is at best) and there’s no way to further reduce cost unless you remove a major component of the show (Joel or Mireille for example) and if you do that, then why keep it around? Sorry, but that question you asked is basic industry knowledge.

    Also I could say you have no knowledge that it’s cheaper based on the Netflix deal or the other show’s budgets… but that’s just needlessly argumentative, obvious, and beside the point.

    I appreciate your fan hope in certainty of season 4… and maybe it will get it, but it won’t be due to it being a rousing success or based on the subpar ratings that can be replaced easily by another show outside of the reality realm. And in many ways, AMC could get more mileage from starting fresh.

  • The End

    @Dennis

    I agree, though as said. A show pulling on or around 2 million, 0.7 onwards seems to be relatively safe on AMC. I would use Mad Men as a benchmark for renewal on AMC for regular shows.

  • Dennis

    @reallyhope

    The fact is, they cancelled a show…and decided to bring it back… the ratings were never going to take a jump.

    They got it cheaper, and its really not doing that bad…

    and I havent watched since season 1, so no, i’m not a fan.
