True blood At Last

True Blood was Sunday's top cable program with a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, up from last week's 2.2. Keeping Up with the Kardashians came in second with a 1.3 up from last week's 1.1.

We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our principal source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in the top 100.

The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search for specific shows.

    I agree with the previous comments about RHONJ. The entire Gorga’s v. Guidice’s storyline is so played out. It is time for a cast shake-up. I’d keep Tre and Caroline. The rest would have to go.

  • Juan

    @TE, Bingo! That’s the avg cost for a run of the mill crime related movie on Lifetime. Something like the Lacy Peterson movies are an exception.

    @Sam, nonsense. The only thing that will stop True Blood from an 8th season is the producers deciding to end it next yr. The stupid reasons you offered do not overshadow the fact it’s the top adult female draw for any scripted show on HBO right now & that demog is most important to HBO.

  • The End

    @Juan

    $2 million is also the average for an average cable show too. Granted the budget increases marginally with every season but very few start with massive budgets breaking $3 million +.(Granted some long running shows start off low but break the $3 million barrier and end up being cancelled not long afterwards when their ratings no longer justify their existence).

  • samurai99

    @Juan

    hbo does not care if a shows viewers are male or female. They care if the show is getting viewers, and true blood is losing theirs. the show is done after next year, guaranteed.

  • Juan

    @Sam, you’re being stupid again. HBO cares most about the people who decide whether to get/keep the channel in their homes. That’s the adult female population.

    True Blood’s S5 finale out drew GoT’s on the night. That puts it’s cum for that ep in the 13m range. That’s a measure of HBO fans of the show at season’s end. Only stupid people would fail to see the importance there. If it ends after next season it’s because the producers have grown tired of it. Even so, HBO will do market research before hand to ascertain how severe an effect it’s an end might have on subscriptions.

  • joethehobo

    Okay, I’m just joining in, but @Juan you don’t actually think True Blood gets 13 million viewers, right?

  • Coffee Steve

    Falling skies moving on up, cool!

  • Raul

    FALLING SKIES and DEVIOUS MAIDS!

  • samurai99

    @Juan

    True blood hasn’t gotten 13 million viewers since 2010. And you can quit pretending hbo cares most about getting women to watch Eric northman get naked, we all know it isn’t’t true.

  • Juan

    @Hobo, Lombardo confirmed in a Feb, 2011 interview that S3 of True Blood avg’d 13.5 mil viewers. That season avg’d 4.97 mil for it’s premiere hr. Last season avg’d 4.67 mil for it’s premiere hr. Unless you are too stupid to do simple arithmetic it should be obvious that when an ep of True Blood draws over 6 mil on the night it draws around 13 mil cumulatively.

  • reallypeople

    @Juan said… “Even so, HBO will do market research before hand to ascertain how severe an effect it’s an end might have on subscriptions.”

    I can save HBO a lot of time and money… it’ll have a hugely negative impact. HBO right now is bookmarked by two shows: GoT and TB with one mid-level performer: Boardwalk Empire and two shows on the comedy side that they hope to build upon: Veep and Girls. So far, the Girls experiment has failed as the viewership dropped and it looks like it might be too hipster to become the next SATC.

    If you take away one of the bookmarks, there’s nothing to replace them with and people will walk away. Some out of disgust (of course) of seeing their “only reason” for watching HBO go away but others because it’s not worth the subscription fee for basically one show. If HBO had three to four equal stellar performers then they could let one go and hope to absorb the loss in developing a new show that can attain those levels or through their existing roster. Dropping either of the bookends isn’t a luxury HBO has right now and looking into the future, I don’t see it happening in at least the next couple of years. It’s much more likely that The Newsroom drops out and/or Boardwalk Empire, which seems to be in the Breaking Bad spot. Because I think it’s easier for HBO to develop a stable of those caliber performers.

    Everything Alan Ball says in this interview suggests True Blood isn’t going to end any time soon. He even leaves open the possibility of returning to the helm. In the Feb, 2011 interview Lombardo stated they took a chance on True Blood because they were eager to work with Ball. Needless to say he has a leg up on the competition pitching his new productions before HBO.

  • The End

    @Juan
    @True Blood isn’t going to end any time soon

    With respect, Showrunners have no control over their shows renewal chances. If the ratings don’t justify renewal, any show can be cancelled. However I’ll give it to you that the show will likely hit 8 seasons. Don’t know beyond that though.

  • Juan

    @End, with all due respect, read the interview. They hold Allan Ball in great esteem. Comparing him to showrunners in general doesn’t do him justice.

    www haaretz com life-after-tony-soprano-1.342711 :
    We did know that we had Alan Ball as our partner, and what we really were betting on was his artistry, his talent and his vision and that was the right bet.

    “True Blood,” Alan Ball’s sexy vampire series – now being rerun on Yes Sci-Fi – is the first series Lombardo and Plepler took under their wing.

    There is a ton of information in that interview as to how these two think.

  • samurai99

    @Juan

    Quit lying. Job posted numbers last month showing true blood season three only averaged 13 million viewers, and hasn’t done better since. Search for the vulture article ‘game of thrones hbo’s biggest hit since the sopranos’ to find it.

    Alan ball doesn’t even work on true blood anymore, so you can quit pretending his opinion means anything.

  • agoodboy

    It is about time Bravo gave Teresa her own show instead of building the whole NJ show around her and in return she return the ratings. I hope she is paid well . . .

  • huldu

    Best season of Falling Skies, but obviously has flaws.

    True Blood, it started very weak but seems to be okay now but they’re really milking the “fame” right now.

    Dexter, first episode wasn’t bad but now it’s just feeling very desperate. I’m glad it’s the last season. Just a shame to see them ruin shows like this(and True Blood).

  • The End

    Noah Wyle gave me his autograph! HOT!!

  • Juan

    @Sam, you’re being stupid again. Alan Ball owns the production company that produces True Blood. An interview with the two heads of HBO trumps your crap Vulture chart which has their name (not HBO’s) stamped on it. But of course, you’re too stupid to understand that. So you will continue to post crap remarks & I will continue to post these two links. Eventually you will grow tired of your juvenile behavior.
