ZACH JOHNSON AND STEVE STRICKER HEADLINE JOHN DEERE CLASSIC ON CBS SPORTS ON JULY 13 & 14
CBS Sports broadcasts third- and final-round coverage of the JOHN DEERE CLASSIC on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET; both days) live from TPC at Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
Last year Cedar Rapids, Iowa-native Zach Johnson won his home-area event by forcing a playoff with birdies on three of the last six holes before defeating Troy Matteson with another birdie on the second extra-hole. Johnson comes into this year’s John Deere Classic with 16 consecutive rounds in the 60s at TPC Deere Run dating back to the first round in 2009 and looks to defend his title against the likes of past JDC champions including Stricker (2009, 2010, 2011), Jonathan Byrd (2007), John Senden (2006) and Sean O’Hair (2005); past major champions including Louis Oosthuizen, Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover, Y.E. Yang, Trevor Immelman, David Duval, Todd Hamilton, Mike Weir and Davis Love III; as well as last year’s John Deere Classic runner-up Matteson, 2011 runner-up Kyle Stanley, Camilo Villegas, Nick Watney, K.J. Choi, Ken Duke, Charley Hoffman, Morgan Hoffmann, Jordan Spieth, Matt Jones, Scott Stallings, Brendon de Jonge, Charles Howell III, D.A. Points, Boo Weekley, Stuart Appelby, and last week’s Greenbrier Classic champion Jonas Blixt.
CBS Sports’ announce team of Bill Macatee and Ian Baker-Finch in the 18th tower, Peter Oosterhuis on the 17th hole, and David Feherty on the 16th hole, call the action.
