Off Their Rockers

NBC has canceled the low rated prank series Betty White's Off Their Rockers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show's final original episode aired Tuesday night, garnering a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating, up from the previous week's series  low of 0.8. The entire season averaged a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, not much worse than some of NBC's single-camera scripted comedies. However, it was one of the least DVR'd shows on television, while its "cult" comedies like Community have a passionate fanbase and rise significantly in Live + 7 ratings.

I watched this in its first season, but didn’t watch much this past season. It just wasn’t priority television, and was obvious schedule spackle that didn’t really mesh with anything. It was fun while it lasted, but it wore thin too soon I think.

So what’s left for an official announcement, Fashion Star and Celebrity Apprentice? Or has CA already been renewed? I heard that Trump made an offer to Paula Deen to appear on the show next season, so that makes me think it was already renewed and I just missed. If Paula Deen accepts, though, and Trump manages to get some other relatively big names, ratings could shoot right back up.

Betty White’s Off their FLOPpers lol

That show was absolute GARBAGE tv. The pranks were absurd and not funny.

I feel NBC could of kept it as filler when its mediocre new comedies fail. Also it could of simply been kept for the Summer Schedule. If it is able to garner at least a 1.0 that should be acceptable. If NBC feels the competition is too tough during the middle of the week, put Off Their Rockers on the weekend behind Dateline NBC. The audience should be compatible. What about trying it on Saturday?

Love me some Betty White but this prankster show was boring to me. I loved the concept of Seniors and pranks however it didn’t turn out too funny most of the time.

    Poor scheduling? REALLY?

I always thought it weird that NBC would cancel a great show like Harry’s Law, with millions of viewers (but skewed too old to matter) yet would air a show like this…
Love Betty White, hated this foolish show…

    @Chris L

I see his point. A random hiatus for a few months and then airing the last three episodes in summer (one of which was just a “best of” episode”) seems like silly scheduling to me.

This show was about as useless as the Hollywood Reporter web-site is,

Too bad, some good laughs each week.

  • THE Cancellation Bear!

This was ok, once, but we have enough prank/Candid Camera rip-offs, and who really wants to see old geezers doing it. PLUS, it really didnt have much of Betty in it. Thats ok, Ive pretty much had my fill of Ms White, esp when she “came out” and revealed herself to be just another old lib!

It’s about time! Not funny at all and not visually appealing whatsoever!

Don’t let the door hit you on the way!

I would not be surprised if Betty White is Leno’s first guest on his new late-night show on FOX. Both reminisce on how they were dumped on NBC

    Agh..I know…Bye Flopetty White!!!

  • Why Watch

This show was just bad, an embarrassment for Bette White

  • Alan Perry

Never should have been picked up for a season to start with… Bad bad show.

  • Psac

It was a cute show, good filler. But not something we’d go out of our way to see.

  • scifi

Omg, if NBC cancels 1.5 shows, Siberia is dead…

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

This show’s repeats were almost identical to new episodes. It
Also got a 1.8 repeat rating on New Year’s Day when NBC ran a marathon

  • Restless

    Well, that’s a shame.
