Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Cult missed out on the fruit flavoured drink, I see…just barely…

    …the Sharks would offer the producers about 1.5 cents for 100% control…

    …and the scripts that would have saved it were in Al Capone’s vault :(

  • John A

    Poor Cult was never given a chance by viewers. I didnt watch but it was good of the CW to even air its final episodes.

  • John A

    I always hate a 2 hour Dateline when its just 1 case the 2 hours. Too long and dragged out. Better when its 2 seperate cases.

  • Finta

    I watched the first episode of Cult and liked it, but I saw the ratings the next day and didn’t wanna get into a new show for it to be canceled. But yeah, it was pretty nice of the CW to air all it’s episodes despite the fact that it rates lower than most reruns of other originals.

  • Theoacme

    @John A: It was good for Warners and CBS to let the CW exist through the rest of Cult’s final episodes…

    @FLOP Detector: I don’t recall authorizing a hop! (Seriously, even Blind Peter could tell Cult was a flop, no detector needed…)

    …and Tom Selleck skews older and older – those numbers are okay for TNT, not so much even for CBS :p

  • John A

    Also terrible for The Following. FOX should air 2 Bones Episodes instead or a Kitchen Nightmares repeat at 9pm. No point even to repeat yet anyway.

  • LisaM

    Who cares about a finale of a low-rated show that is not coming back? Cult was dead a long tome ago.

  • r0ckmypants

    @LisaM – “Who cares about a finale of a low-rated show that is not coming back?”

    People who like talking about TV ratings.

  • Andrew

    I’m glad CW burned off the remaining episodes of Cult, even though I don’t watch anything on CW. It’s not like Carrie Diaries repeats are going to get a better rating on Friday night. Now I wish ABC would burn off the remaining unaired B in Apt 23 episodes somewhere on their schedule, either in the vacated Family Tools spot, or on Saturday night, or even late night. Somewhere!

  • Shepherd

    Cult was down in viewers for both hours, but didn’t hit 0.0 (at least for now); pretty easy to predict.

    Last week it lost about 200k (~25%) of its viewers after it was adjusted so while I still think 0.0 is a very remote possibility, if it falls to ~250-300k viewers it will have come pretty close. Too bad we’ll never know just how close it came.

  • Alan

    At least Cult did okay, haters must be dying.

  • John A

    So do Nikita and Spn Repeats air again next Friday?

  • Jon

    @ alan….a 0.1 with is ok? What world are you living in? Those are historically low numbers for any show on any newtork, cable or broadcast. There were probably more people watching public access television than that.

  • rehabber

    I have 6 eps of Cult left on my DVR and would like to find out if there was an ending to the show, before I go to the trouble of finishing it. Please just a yes or no would be great..
    pepk at earthlink.net
    thanks

  • Liam

    0.1 lowest rated network TV series finale rating ever. Beat out 90120.

    I think Cult has set ,any records for network TV ratings wise.

  • CBSviewer

    @ John A

    So do Nikita and Spn Repeats air again next Friday

    Nope. Supernatural will only repeat on Wednesday and Nikita is not scheduled.

  • jay

    John A…the CW will air repeat episodes of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and “Perfect Score” next Friday and repeat Monday’s “iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party” the next Friday. “America’s Next Top Model” will return with new episodes on Aug. 2.

  • John A

    @CBSViewer and @Jay Ok thanks.

  • Charlie

    @rehabber

    I was reading the comments on getglue yesterday,they all seemed so pissed about the ending so I’m pretty sure It’s a cliff hanger not a proper one….

  • rehabber

    @Charlie, thanks
