Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Proof that Neilson Viewers shouldn’t decide the ratings… Big Brother!?!?!

    — – these are the “chosen” ones to decide what America is watching?!

  • Rex

    @rgxx You’re one to talk. You’re a Revolution fan.

  • John A

    I read The Lying Game was cancelled on another site? Is it true?

  • Mary

    @SJ

    that doesn’t help those of us in the US who like the show. If they’re not renewed in the US, we’d have to wait until they’re made available on DVD and/or Netflix.

  • SJ

    @Mary

    You can find them online, it’s not that hard…

  • Maslany

    Another ratings website pinned Whodunnit at 3.1 viewers, not 3.55. Is this a mistake on their part, or was the 3.55 from Celebrity Wife Swap accidentally carried over onto Whodunnit?

  • LovingLostGirl

    My husband and I are enjoying Crossing Lines, which of course means it will be cancelled. Just like Harry’s Law and Awake (cancelled) and Saving Hope (not on US TV). I wish the networks would give new shows longer than one season to catch on with viewers.

  • Andy

    Best Big Brother episode ever! Amanda verbally bitch slaps Aaryn across the face

  • Melanie P.

    @Andy, yes I loved that too! She most certainly put Aaryn in her place.

  • Linda

    Crossing Lines is a very good show, I hate that it isn’t doing better in the ratings. I am so tired of reality shows & reruns!

  • chris

    aaryn must be the most hated big brother cast member ever….trust me,ive seen all of them…

  • Cerebro (the real one)

    To whomever has hijacked my screen name for the last three posts, please go away. Those comments weren’t mine. Thank you.

  • CBSviewer

    @ Cerebro (the real one)

    Don’t worry. The one who stole your screen name is not very smart.

    @ Cerebro (the false one)

    Get a life !

  • E.S.

    More people were interested in seeing obnoxious Andy Dick on “Celebrity Wife Swap” than ’80s pop star Tiffany? Do we deserve this?

  • Melissa

    Ugh, is it September yet?

  • Jonathan

    Love Whodunnit!

  • SMG4E

    Awesome for Whodunnit! It’s actually a great, original show and at this rate it’s looking at a second season.

  • Wally

    I love crossing lines. I’m tired of New York cop shows, la cop shows and FBI cop shows. Crossing lines is different enough to regenerate my love of police proceduals . New rules, new laws, new equipment, and new scenery what more could you ask for.

  • pll fan

    i don’t care for whodunnit. seems like everyone on the show is simply acting. just seems very fake.

  • Russell

    I am really loving Crossing Lines too. It is really fast paced and the characters and story lines are getting into a great groove. If you haven’t watched this – give it a chance. I really love the gorgeous settings and William Fitchner profiling.
