    @Joseph
    With “Once Upon A Time In Wonderland” not premiering until October 10th, could ABC decide to run the entire season on 22 to 26 consecutive weeks (depending on the number of episodes to be produced) without pre-emptions or reruns??

    It will probably have less than 20 episodes and be replaced by another drama in the spring. Also, no, because they won’t air it on Thanksgiving or around Christmas.

    Fox did this with the later seasons of “24?.

    FOX also delayed the premiere until January in order to avoid interruptions.

    Regarding the failures, with ratings where the are now, there is little point in yanking a failing series. Look at 666 Park Ave – ABC would have been probably better off just letting it finish out its run on Sunday night. Even at a 1.1, what replaced it did not do much better.

  • Kissan

    Here are my predictions for the premieres:

    OUAT-10 million viewers and a 2.8-3.2

    Revenge-9 million viewers and a 2.7-3.0

    Betrayal-6 million viewers and a 2.1-2.5

    DWTS-16 million viewers and a 3.0-3.3

    Castle-10 million viewers and a 2.0-2.3

    SHIELD-12 million viewers and a 4.5-4.8

    The Goldbergs-8 million viewers and a 3.0-3.3

    Trophy Wife-8 million viewers and a 2.8-3.2

    Lucky 7-6 million viewers and a 1.8-2.1

    The Middle-8 million viewers and a 2.5-2.8

    Back In The Game-6 million viewers and a 2.3-2.6

    Modern Family-13 million viewers and a 5.5-6.0

    Super Fun Night-8 million viewers and a 3.0-3.2

    Nashville-9 million viewers and a 2.9-3.2

    OUATIW-8 million viewers and a 2.8-3.0

    Grey’s Anatomy-10 million viewers and a 3.9-4.2

    Scandal-9 million viewers and a 3.3-3.6

    Last Man Standing-7 million viewers and a 1.8-2.0

    The Neighbors-5 million viewers and a 1.4-1.6

    Any thoughts?

    @Kissan I tthink you’re too optimisc about some shows

  • david

    Interesting how they are spreading out the premeers through out september and half of octoberr.

  • Justin121

    @Kissan,

    way too optimistic about all of the returnning shows.

    Take 0.5 out of everything except for Castle.

    Scandal and The Middle will top at the lower end of your predictions.

    Modern Family will be 1.0-1.5 lower.

    I think you’re spot-on on the new shows except for Lucky 7 (too low) and Wonderland (too high).

  • Kissan

    @Justin121

    OUAT and Revenge just had down seasons this year because of the award shows and many preemptions. I think they’re gonna go back up to their original numbers if they air some episodes uninterrupted and if the writing gets better. OUAT can probably go back up to high 2’s and low 3’s and Revenge can go back up to mid and high 2’s. DWTS hit a 3.3 in March and it went up against CW,FOX and NBC competition, and since there’s no result show and it’s only going up against Bones and Sleepy Hollow I think it can go back up to at least a 3.1 and Castle will remain in the low 2’s since it’s going up against REAL competition now. I’m sorry but Lucky 7 is doomed it’s going up against three established shows and two of them have good lead ins. Chicago Fire can get like 8 million viewers all by itself without The Voice and it’s definitely gonna get more demo and POI might be one or two tenths down but it still dominates in viewers and SOA also has a good fan base and plus Lucky 7 has an unproven comedy as a lead in. The Middle and MF are gonna be in syndication this year(I think it’s MF) and they’re gonna have their 100th episodes so they can go up. OUATIW should already have a fan base because of OUAT and TVD was currently hitting lows at the end of last season and I know TBBT will still dominate but I looked on a website and it said TBBT had the worst overall ending to a otherwise solid season so that could possibly lose a little bit of viewers.

    My predictions:

    Castle – 2.3
    S.H.I.E.L.D. – 4.2 (People are too optimistic with these one. It will skew very young as Arrow)

    Trophy Wife – 2.8
    Lucky 7 – 2.5
    The Middle – 2.2
    Back in the Game – 2.0
    Modern Family – 4.5
    Super Fun Night – 2.9
    Nashville – 2.6
    OUATIW – 2.5
    Grey’s Anatomy – 3.3
    Scandal – 3.2
    Last Man Standing – 1.7
    The Neighbors – 1.6
    Shark Tank – 2.2
    OUAT – 2.8

    I LIKE YOUR COMMENT

    Maybe ABC does think that that extra will help Scandal gain some extra viewers through netflix and BET reruns. Plus OUATIW starting late is smart because they will be able to promote the hell out of it during the original OUAT just like the CA is doing with The Originals premiering the week after The Vampire Diaires premieres.
