The Home Run Derby won the night with a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating.   Love & Hip Hop came in second with a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, matching last week's performance.

We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our primary source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in that list.

The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search for specific shows.

    @Rachel

While they have done many issues in few episodes, I don’t think they’re running through them. The teen pregnancy story with Jesus and Lexi is proving to be a multi-episode arc, Jude’s coming-of-age story about identity is also something that seems to be an arc meant to last for a while. It would be worse if it felt as though each episode was a sort of “issue of the week”, but it doesn’t. These are issues that a modern family has to tackle and they’re introducing them as they go along, devoting both time and care to them.

So I’m not worried in the slightest that they’ll “run out of ideas.” Simply because the show so far seems very true to life, and in life there are always issues to tackle. Some take longer than others and will work well as season-long arcs, others can be dealt with in everything from a single episode to a couple of episodes.

  • Lisa

@Rachel @Tom Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg, the creators, also mentioned that, if the show ran for awhile, Stef and Lena could foster more children as the older ones moved out of the house and went to college. They thought that the show could run for a long time.

  • Glue

The fosters is doing so well, thank god. I hoped this would catch on and clearly it did. The cast does an amazing job of capturing the essence of everything. Hopefully it continues doing this well! Also, it’s sad that Bunheads didn’t death on. I would have paired well with the fosters/switched lineup

  • John

The Fosters is going to canceled due to lack of sponsorship, the show only has one sponsor left for the show to continue?

  • PurpleDrazi

Oh John, you tried posting that crap last time and nobody fell for it.

It’s not true. Everybody knows it. Go away.

  • tj

Yea, I’m interested in how OLTL and AMC did on OWN

  • Billiam

@Lisa, no ABF show runs a “long time”.

I don’t think they are in any danger of “running out of ideas” but cramming in too many angles into so few episodes may overwhelm the viewers over time, especially if we miss one or two episodes. It would be hard to get caught back up. The shows makes me think of the reverse of a soap. While a soap can go on and on and you can pick it up without missing much. This show is the opposite.

The sad thing about the idea of keeping the show going by taking on more kids, more will have to happen to keep the show fresh. This has been tried with many other shows and the truth is that once we get used to a certain set of characters, we want to see those characters and not replacements. Of course, the nature of ABCF is that they will constantly be adding new audiences because the age of their viewers BUT if you are like my daughter, she is not willing to watch a show that has been on a while. She wants new shows, shows that she can watch from day one. This may be why ABF, on average, has shows that only last 2-3 years…

  • Billiam

@John, what we may not know could be that that particular sponsor may be paying for exclusive sponsorship of the show. As long as the network is making money from the show, sees future revenue potential and see that the Nielson viewers are actually viewing the commercials and not skipping over them, I don’t think the show would be cancelled. It seems to be growing each week, which is unusual for a new show. The arc is normally the other way.

Now, if ABCF did what they did with Bunheads and puts the show in the winter and make it compete with primetime broadcast networks, we may see its decline, just as we saw with Bunheads. It’s one thing to put a show in the summer on a network such as ABCF but quite another to compete with the broadcast networks at the peak of their seasons.

  • Stu

@Cyrax86 – I think that if TNT rarely cancels its freshman shows, it’s because they usually perform better than King & Maxwell. Perception, Dallas, Franklin and Bash, Rizzoli and Isles, Major Crimes, e.g. – all did a lot better than King & Maxwell in their inception seasons.

Memphis Beat, Leverage and HawthoRNe were all drawing bigger demos when they got canceled, so I’d be surprised if King & Maxwell makes it. Only Men of a Certain Age and Southland were kept around with low numbers, and that’s because of their award potential.

  • Nikki

Im sure a lot of you will disagree but i think Switched is getting a little tired. And im a fan of this show, but all the storys are recycled and all they show now is noone getting along, the girls changing boyfriends. Even katies accent has gotten sloppy. And the sign language too. I used to enjoy watching this.. but since its return the only good episode was the what if episode. The rest a little tired.. no wonder its slipped in ratings. I say maybe it gets a short 3rd season, but the ratings will fall low before that happens. And as for The Fosters i didnt want to like this show but i did, i mean the acting isnt great, but the stories are good and the way they play them out i enjoy.. but like someone else said if they change the core kids noone will watch anymore. But lets hope they figure out a way to keep everyone interested if it does stick around a while.

  • Cyrax86

@Stu, Memphis Beat & HawthoRNe were doing only marginally better in the demo in the last part of their runs and their cancellations were more or less anticipated, but that was two years ago. Also, I believe TNT goes with the 25-54 demo so we don’t have the exact numbers to know for sure. Before Monday Mornings, didn’t they cancel something called Heartland in 2007 in its freshman run? Can’t think of anything else.

  • Stu

@Cyrax86 – I don’t remember Heartland, but there was a Dylan McDermott show that looked terrible called Dark Blue, and I think it got a first season renewal with a relatively low demo, but I can’t recall exactly. Just that when they cancelled it after season 2, it was no surprise at all. It seems like averaging a .6 or less is a pretty good indicator, though, at least for most TNT shows.

  • Kenny McCormick

    @Flop Detector

Oh you think that’s funny, huh? Yeah, that’s REAL funny.

  • Theoacme

Thank God for Excel – King & Maxwell, yeah, I know, the demo is what counts (but no idea if it’s 18-49 or 25-54 that TNT is targeting for sure), but looking at just its competition in its time slot…

…it trails only Longmire and WWE in the total audience (and is 10th overall in the top 100)…

…and ignoring itself, the other shows in the list in its time slot added up to approximately 8.8 points in the demo, there were 13 other cable shows on the list at 10:00 pm.

Add broadcast, worth 4.5 demo points from the finals, and that’s a nice 13.3 demo point buzzsaw King & Maxwell has to deal with.

There were 8 cable shows ahead of King & Maxwell in the demo, and one of them was not Longmire (same 0.5 demo)…

  • david

good to see K and M up in total viewers. Switched at Birth and the Fosters fell a little bit but still doing good. I enjoyed them both. The Fosters is now one of my favorite shows.

  • someone

@Cyrax86 2009 drama Trust Me was also cancelled by TNT after its first season.

  • someone

Adding that Trust Me premiered in January, not in the summer.

  • Sid Kaminsky

I am cunfussed. Outside of Home Run Derby, the highest viedwership is Major Crimes. It is on at the same time as Love & hipHop Atlanta, yet is is way down thed list. WHY?
