“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 – THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST IMPORTANT TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS – AND HOUSEHOLDS ON JULY 14
“FACE THE NATION” IS UP +15% IN VIEWERS, +33% IN ADULTS 25-54 AND +11% IN HOUSEHOLDS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – and households on Sunday, July 14. The CBS broadcast posted 3.09m viewers, 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 and 2.1/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 66% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +15% in viewers (from 2.69m), +33% in adults 25-54 (from 0.6/03) and +11% in households (from 1.9/05).
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers, adults 25-54 and households. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +9% in viewers (3.15m from 2.90m), +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/03 from 0.7/03) and +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) compared to last year.
On the broadcast, CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassmann reported on the George Zimmerman “not guilty” verdict, and interviewed Daryl Parks, an attorney representing the family of Trayvon Martin. Bob Schieffer interviewed Ben Jealous, president of the NAACP, Michael Eric Dyson of Georgetown University, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) and Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA). Schieffer also hosted a political roundtable with Peggy Noonan, columnist at The Wall Street Journal, John Harris, editor-in-chief of Politico, David Sanger, chief Washington correspondent at The New York Times, and Bobby Ghosh, TIME international editor.
