DOOF MEETS DARTH IN AN EPIC ODE TO STAR WARS FROM

THE HIT ANIMATED SERIES "Phineas and Ferb"

- Special Event Episode to be presented Next Year on Disney Channel and Disney XD -

An epic ode to Star Wars from the creators of Disney's animated comedy "Phineas and Ferb" is in production -- the one hour event episode will premiere next year on Disney Channel and Disney XD. It places the characters of "Phineas and Ferb" in the same space and time as the world of Star Wars, all with the brilliant comedic perspective that has made the global hit "Phineas and Ferb" the #1 animated TV series for Kids 6-11 in primetime and Tweens across total day for the past five years.

The announcement was made today by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, creators and executive producers of "Phineas and Ferb" and ardent Star Wars fans, at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Povenmire said, "May The 'Ferb' Be With You and with all of us who for decades have dreamt of a chance to work with the great characters and stories of Star Wars."

The event episode's story begins a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away – in summer. Phineas and Ferb are living happily on Tatooine, just one moisture farm over from Luke Skywalker. They love simply hanging out and creating new adventures under the twin suns but find themselves thrust into a global rebellion when the plans for blowing up the Death Star accidentally fall into their hands.

Now that fate has suddenly pulled them into the fight for freedom, they must go in search of a pilot who can take them to the rebels so they can hand over the plans.  Complicating matters, Candace has a Stormtrooper-like intent on "busting rebels" and chases Phineas and Ferb across the galaxy in hopes of retrieving the Death Star plans.

Meanwhile, back on the Death Star, Darth Enshmirtz, a low level Darth, has created a Force-powered "Sith-inator" that he plans to use against the Rebel Alliance.  Agent P, working undercover for the Rebellion, is dispatched to stop him, but quickly gets trapped in carbonite. Then, things take a startling turn when Ferb is accidentally hit by the full blast of Dr. Darth Enschmirtz’s "inator" and becomes….an evil Sith.

The Voice cast includes: Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Ferb Fletcher, Caroline Rhea as mom Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Richard O'Brien as dad Lawrence Fletcher, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Alyson Stoner as Isabella, Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet, Bobby Gaylor as Buford, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh as Major Monogram and Emmy Award-winning Dan Povenmire as Darth Enshmirtz.

"Phineas and Ferb" is a production of Disney Television Animation.

  • Jake

I knew this would happen. This is disgusting.

  • Nathan

    Wow..this is really stupid.

  • Jon23812

Bart Simpsons: Uh oh! Another cheap cartoon crossover.

  • Twist Of Fate

    Wow…Disney just wow…

  • Johnny

Fist of all most of you need to calm down, it is not a crossover, it’s just an special episode of phineas and ferb which feature Darth Vader, it’s not like the marvel one, it’s just like fairly odd parents with dark laser or the Simpson’s where Darth Vader has been featured many times, all you Disney and Nickelodeon fans need to know that they are doing this from a marketing point of view, most children know what a lightsaber is but has no clue what the story of star wars is, Disney is just getting more kids to know what star wars is and also to sell more products, it’s not like they are doing a crossover with phineas with the clone wars, just calm down

  • Nathan

    @Johnny
The plot still sounds stupid. This cartoon, along with many other cartoons, has overstayed its welcome, in my opinion. Seasons 1 and 2 were perfect, can’t say the same about the rest.

  • Ren

It’s depressing that now this show has passed its best Disney is making it piggyback on more successful franchises in order to extend its lifespan instead letting it end on a high note.

I thought they were making a feature film? What happened to that? Is it cancelled?

  • Tacoma

Spongbob should have been dead a long time ago as well

  • Jon23812

@Johnny, Star Wars was recently released of DVD and Blu Ray in 2011. I sure people bought them and showed it to their children. Kids don’t need a “manufactured crossover” to know what Star Wars is.

@Ren, Yeah, it’s been cancelled, sadly.

  • johnny

Just because it was on DVD doesn’t mean all kids watched it

  • linda

I agree with Johnny, Disney bought star wars and they want people and kids to know it’s there’s now and what way to promote it by featuring in in there most popular kids show on their channel, yes phineas and ferb hasn’t got ratings dynamite but phineas and ferb is popular sales wise and yes I know because I did an intern in Disney and know that phineas it a huge market, I bet that if Viacom bought lucasfilm and wanted to promote it I bet Darth Vader would be skipping in the bottom of the sea with Spongbob and Patrick.

  • jodie

Some people want to see, I went to Comic-Con and when he announced it, the crowd went wild in happiness, clearly people are going to like it and I am one of them

  • nicole

@ren, do you know how much cartoon network would have to pay Disney/abc, to continue showing the clone wars on cartoon network? Let me just say, they would go bankrupt or would have to cancelled popular shows such as adventure time and regular show to save some pennies. It was a smart move for CN to cancel it. Plus if Disney bought all of the episodes of clone wars and remove it from CN, the fans will go mad and be emotional. So I think it’s good that Disney channel didn’t take the clone wars

  • Jon23812

@Nicole, Ren wasn’t talking about Clone Wars, she was talking about the Phineas & Ferb movie that was suppose to come out this year, which was cancelled.

  • nicole

@Jon23812 the phineas and ferb movie was not cancelled it got pushed back so thor 2 can premiere in 2013 instead, it will premiere in 2014

  • s9o

@Nicole: Nope, Thor 2 had the 7/26 date, then PnF went to that day with Thor 2 for 11/8, then PnF was delayed (with all the cartoon movies this Summer).
