BB is slowly becoming a legitimate “hit” again this summer.

@gg what is this world coming to when networks give ignorant racists platforms to have legitimate hits? CBS #SHAMEONYOU

Omg, let go already. It’s not CBS’ fault that some houseguests in the house are racists, and there’s only really 3 left that are like that out of 13. So shame on you Michael, you probably don’t even watch it your just reading the stories that other people have posted and trying to act like some sort of saint. Also please don’t use hashtags outside of Twitter and Facebook, it’s stupid.

I never read these comments, but I would guess that I am not the first one to write this in here: Is it fair for the headlines for preliminary ratings to read that a show has dropped in the ratings, when the reality is that most of the time the final ratings (which come out only hours later),show that the ratings were adjusted back up to where the were the week before (thus there wasn’t a drop in the first place). It seems to me that this may be the writers way of manipulating viewers who only read the headlines…possibly for shows that the writers do not like. Why not just wait and publish a final rating only? Who needs that preliminary rating that is only a few hours before the final, anyhow? I for one can wait.

Big Brother is still a HIT!

Don’t worry, with America as the BBMVP, Aaryn is most likely going up as the third nominee.

Sad that Elissa didn’t win HOH or MVP :(

  • Andy

Not that I don’t think some of the increases is because of the racism, but Big Brother usually starts slow then picks up in late July and August. It’s just following that trend.

If TVBTN didn’t post prelim, most of their page views would go to competing sites. Which is mostly evident by the fact of how many comments each gets.

I do agree, this up & down business, esp when it’s only a tenth & often gets adjusted back to stay the same final to final, makes me crazy. I wish that if a show was adjusted they also do the comparison week to week. That could make it easy enough to not mislead. Also, if they compared prelim to prelim, instead of prelim to finals, that should help as well.

Headlines are what Search Engines Index & are what drive readers to the site, providing page views & thus hits to the ads. So, up & down, is the second best thing to include in them besides “Fringe” “Chuck” etc.

    **ratings conspiracy theory**

I like the way Dealine does it: Compare current preliminary to prior preliminary, and compare current final to prior finals.

Demo-wise, Hell’s Kitchen isn’t to far apart from Big Brother’s ratings.

Three tenths is pretty significant. Especially because they’ve essentially tied the last few weeks.

IMO, Elementary’s demo is too low considering it is following Big Brother which is very young skewing with its 2.4 demo. Elementary really should win the 10pm hour with at least a 1.4 demo.

    I for one can wait.

Please. Big Brother would still be a hit if it was pulling a 1.9 all summer. This is one of the most successful franchises on television, let alone for the summer, let alone in reality television. It could dip to a regular 1.5 and CBS would probably still renew it. Why? Not only is it cheap, but they have the live feed, the cable deal with TVGN, the social media buzz, and a 1.5 is still better than 95% of the rest of their summer lineup.

    With a 2.4, it’s a smash.

  • Nick

Also, I’m extremely impressed that Hell’s Kitchen has managed to remain this steady this week. It’s remarkable. This is like its 5th timeslot of the season, literally, and it’s pulled the same all season.

Big Brother and Elementary’s audiences do not mix

Glad Big Brother is going back up again in the ratings. It has been keeping me on the edge of my seat with these evictions!
