UNIVISION REACHES NEARLY 10 MILLION VIEWERS AND RANKS AS THE NO. 1 NETWORK FOR THE NIGHT AMONG ADULTS 18-49 and ADULTS 18-34 WITH BROADCAST OF “PREMIOS JUVENTUD”

“Premios Juventud” and Univision No. 1 Most Social Program and Network for the Night


MIAMI – JULY 19, 2013 – The 10th annual edition of the “Premios Juventud” youth awards show, which showcased a vibrant array of show-stopping performances including an incredible opening by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull, helped Univision rank as the No. 1 Broadcast Network among Adults 18-49 last night, and for the sixth consecutive year among Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34.  In the July sweep-to-date, Univision is beating all broadcast and cable networks among Adults 18-49 and 18-34 in primetime.

 

The three-hour broadcast reached nearly 10 million Total Viewers 2+ who tuned in to all or part of the live event, with an average audience of nearly 5 million viewers, making Univision the No. 2 network in that demo, ahead of ABC, NBC and FOX.

 

This year’s “Premios Juventud” also attracted more U.S. Hispanic viewers in the demographic groups of Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34 than the combined audience of the latest editions of the “American Music Awards,” “Billboard Music Awards” and “Golden Globe Awards.”

The Thursday, July 18 broadcast of “Premios Juventud” on Univision:

 

·         Averaged 2.6 million Adults 18-49, 1.4 million Adults 18-34 and 1.9 million Persons 12-34.

 

·         Drove Univision to strong advantages over its closest competitors:

o   Adults 18-49 (+24% Adv. vs. CBS)

o   Adults 18-34 (+52% Adv. vs. FOX)

o   Persons 12-34 (+71% Adv. vs. FOX)

 

·         Was the No. 1 program on all of broadcast television among Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34, out-delivering first-run episodes of  ABC’s “Motive,” “Wipeout” and "Rookie Blue,"   CBS’ “Big Brother,” NBC’s “The Winner Is…” and FOX’s “Hell’s Kitchen.”

 

·         Was the No. 2 program on all of broadcast television among Adults 18-49 and among the top 5 with Viewers 2+.

 

·         Over-delivered the 2012 edition of “Premios Juventud” by double-digit margins among:

 

o   Total Viewers 2+ (+21%)

o   Adults 18-49 (+25%)

o   Adults 18-34 (+14%)

o   Persons 12-34 (+18%).

·         In Miami among Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49
