NEW YORK, NY – July 22, 2013 – NBC’s “Dateline” will air A Dateline Special: The Little Prince tonight at 10p ET/9p Central.  Prince William and Kate Middleton have welcomed the royal baby into the world, the third in line to the British monarch. Hosted by Natalie Morales, Dateline’s The Little Prince will provide viewers with an intimate look inside the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as this modern royal family brings their son home.  Hear from friends, learn the latest details about the couple’s future plans as a family, and see rare childhood images of William and Harry.

The primetime special is part of NBC News’ coverage of the royal birth which has included reports from Natalie Morales and Dr. Nancy Snyderman on “TODAY,” Chris Jansing, Jim Maceda and Kate Snow on “NBC Nightly News,” and London-based Correspondents Martin Fletcher, Ben Fogle, Michelle Kosinski and Keir Simmons.

I’m betting that was an easy decision :)

  • Maslany

What does this mean for Siberia? Will it pushed back to 11pm, or will the episode not be shown until next week?

  • tim_m

Seriously? Give me a break. Millions of women have babies every day. Does that make the news? Who cares if she’s a princess. She’s not our princess.

  • r0ckmypants

Because we haven’t heard enough about this yet. How do you turn three words (“It’s a boy”) into an hour-long special?

  • Maslany

I hope it gets lower ratings than Siberia just to prove a point…

  • r0ckmypants

@Maslany – According to the Siberia Facebook page, tonight’s episode will air next week; I suppose that means the entire run gets pushed back a week, unless NBC doubles up the finale.

  • cimmer

Hmm, and what, if anything, will the Royal birth mean for Under the Dome?

  • Neil

Betting Odds on the name of the Prince

    George 200
    James 400
    Alexander 800
    Louis 1100
    Henry 1200
    Arthur 1200
    Albert 1400
    Philip 1200
    Benjamin 2200
    Richard 2000
    Alfred 3300

    Stupid nbc

  • CrimTV

ffs i’m sorry but I have had it, here in the UK we’ve had news broadcasts from 6AM until 11PM on this, interruptions of regular television just for some reporter to keep saying “there’s no news”, “there’s no news”.

  • CBSviewer

Seriously NBC ??? America doesn’t care about it !

  • tim_m

She had a baby, its a boy. What more is there to report? Seriously! Why do we have to stick our noses into the lives of so many people just cause they’re famous or whatever.

  • Benjamin Elliott

They will have to double up or not air all the episodes. The Blacklist is getting the timeslot on September 23, the start of the fall season. I’m sure there’ll be at least one weekday hour in August where a new Siberia would beat the scheduled rerun, so hopefully NBC will fit them all in.

  • Samunto

The interest is much bigger than you naysayers think. And then Siberia isn’t rating that high. Plus NBC always scores with news items.

It’s good news. Nice easy news. There’s enough bad depressing news going around and good news is always welcome. Cheers.

  • cc

I’d rather see Siberia. It’d be nice to see this Dateline get O viewers.

  • romo

We beat them in 1776ish na na na na na

  • Sack

Tonight’s episode of Mistresses is gonna be so intense!

  • NBC Fan

    I don’t care. I don’t watch Siberia and I won’t be watching this.

NBC will air the episode scheduled to run tonight next week and is pushing everything back. Presumably they will air the resulting “leftover” episode at some point so the series can conclude on time. even if the network is forced to resort to the dreaded Saturday burn-off.

It’s a boy, Mrs. Walker, it’s a boy. Could they perhaps name the kid Tommy?

    ;-) :-)
