Deadline reports that ABC has ordered "limited series" The Assets based on the book Circle of Treason: A CIA Account of Traitor Aldrich Ames and the Men He Betrayed. Ames was an American mole who leaked information to the USSR. The book recounts the CIA's efforts to identify and capture him. The series is slated to air in 2014.

ABC, we already have The Americans. Thank you.

This doesnt feel like a ABC show at all.

Does anyone know what they mean by 2014 are we talking this coming winter or next fall?

  • KevinSW

I think this might be for summer…it seems the success of Under The Dome and the decent showing of Mistresses, Camp and Rookie Blue might spark even more Summer programming which i welcome hahah

    Probably next summer.

ABC the official network of the Red Scare. Because their last Red Scare drama “Pan Am” soared.

@jt the 2013 TV season ends Sept 1ish. Starting with the first premier in September it’s considered the 2014 season.

  • Ekras

Addendum to above: considering how late it is in the year for premiers my guess would be mid-season which would actually be early 2014. It’s REALLY late to be announcing something for the fall and ABC already put out their fall schedule.

i am very very SCARED that they might replace my favourite show Mistresses with this crap.renew Mistresses!!

    Is this scripted or unscripted?

It sounds scripted, but it’s being made by an ABC News company…

  • CBSviewer

Considering it’s a limited Series it will probably air during Summer.

Mistresses aint comin back, and yes, we have The Americans-once again, youre a day late and a dollar short, ABC!

ABC orders another “limited series, “.ie a quickly greenlit, high concept, highly serialized, quickly cancelled attempt at another Lost. They claim “limited” so they can put it up at Emmys as a “mini-series” but if they strike gold was really intended to run 7 years.

‘The Assets’ will taste like ‘New Coke’ compared to ‘The Americans’ ‘Classic Coke’
