New York, NY – July 23, 2013 – Golden Globe® winner and two-time Academy Award® nominee John Travolta makes this rare guest star return to television on TV Land’s new original sitcom “Kirstie.” During this guest star appearance, Travolta and his former on-screen flame, series star and executive producer Kirstie Alley, will be teaming up for an unforgettable reunion. The duo is best remembered for their on-screen romance in the hit movie franchise “Look Who’s Talking.”  Set to shoot early next month, Travolta will play a stagehand on “Maddie’s” (Kirstie Alley) Broadway show. After a one-night stand together, Maddie is surprised to find that her fling refuses to be flung. “Kirstie” will debut on TV Land on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, and Travolta’s episode will air later in the season.
Regarding his guest role, Travolta expressed, “I'm excited about working with Kirstie again, in addition to such terrific talent on the show. It’s always a treat to be surrounded by people you respect so much both personally and professionally.”
The show centers around Broadway star “Madison Banks” (Alley) whose life turns upside down when “Arlo” (Eric Petersen), the son she gave up at birth, suddenly appears, hoping to connect after his adoptive parents have died. Rhea Perlman (“Cheers”) stars as Maddie’s assistant and best friend alongside Michael Richards (“Seinfeld”) as Maddie’s outlandish driver.
“Kirstie” is written and executive produced by Marco Pennette and is also executive produced by Kirstie Alley and Jason Weinberg. Larry W. Jones and Keith Cox serve as executive producers for TV Land.

It was not mentioned that Kirstie and John lived together for quite a while in real life.

Did I read this right that the show is called “Kirstie” but she is playing a character not named Kirstie? Have other shows done that? Seems a bit weird.

I loved the first two movies of the Look Who’s Talking Franchise.

Kirstie Alley and John Travolta havr undeniably great chemistry together in the movies and when appearing on TV as themselves as well.

My only question is if her character is Madison Banks then why is the show titled Kirstie?

I’m assuming Tom Cruise is the next guest star. These cult members are cray cray.
