Under the Dome. The only thing on broadcast worth watching on Monday night during the Summer.

  • lilkunta

what show is “l a complex;”?.

I need for MISTRESSES to get better ratings. I really do like the show.

I watched “mindy prokect”… It isnt funny. But its great to see an Indian and a woman and a dark indian(india has caste system) and a avg size woman dong great things, leading a show.

I can’t believe Love & Hip Hop Atlanta beat everything in the demo except for UTD.

  • BoSox Juan

Until CBS announces a renewal for UTD, everything else is speculation including Comic-Con. If the story was written to conclude after ep 13, it’s not a simple task. CBS has to be convinced the story can effectively continue.

I personally think the odds are good. They can just ignore this summer’s ending & offer a movie during May sweeps of 2014 that has an alternative ending that provides the segway into offering UTD as a true series. UTD S2 then would premiere last wk of Jul sweeps & conclude first wk of Nov sweeps with 14-16 ep.

Both Revolution & UTD are taps into TWDs successful formula of human vs human drama in an apocalyptic setting. Both TWD & UTD also understand there is no need to offer a big picture view for the viewer. It’s better to keep that shrouded in mystery. Revolution didn’t.

  • Other than THAT Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

Ratings guarantee a season 2. Best to keep it a summer series. Shows like this on cable do better in the Summer.

Still good though Kings tends to overdo it with his hatred of the US military by making them look either as malevolent goons or idiots – usually both. Why would they drop a MOAB bomb (way too big to me mounted on a missile – sloppy writing there) on the Dome? The energy is too unfocused and had no chance of working. No way the military would do it – first they could try increasing amounts of C4 or some other high explosive charge working up to box cars full of the stuff buried in one small section of the Dome below ground level to direct the full force of the blast into the Dome.

At least they got rid of Kings other pet peeve the Christian minister, first by making him a meth head then finally by having him die at the hands of the defacto mayor. The 2 lesbians will likely be the ones to save the day. That would be typical King these days.

So CBS is more interested in artistic integrity than making money?

  • Michael1

If CBS doesn’t renew UTD, could another network make a play for it? It’s getting better ratings than most scripted shows.

  • BoSox Juan

I didn’t make that clear. If UTD’s producers (mainly Spielberg) desire a S2, then CBS will be only too happy to renew. That trusted, marquee talent sold UTD upfront for this yr so that’s a sure thing for a S2. That’s a no-brainer decision for CBS then. It’s more complicated if those producers are not on board for a S2.

  • BoSox Juan

Other, they chose a MOAB with high energy dispersal over a more focused energy weapon because they had no intent to destroy the dome. That is typical King. The military values the dome as an asset only they can study in hopes to find a military application. The intent of the MOAB was to weaken the field so it’s influence with the outside world would be hard to detect. They only acted after that influence had become public knowledge world over & tensions started to rise with China & Russia. They bused in the families beforehand because there was the possibility the energy dispersal of the MOAB could ignite the dome & burn everything under it.

We don’t know if the Christian minister is dead. We know his ear came in contact with the field but we didn’t see any signs of damage other than the blood. No charred flesh. This is not the original King story which turns out to be alien teens treating humans like ants, but I’m sure the core idea of the town being observed under the dome is still at the heart. That act did not go unnoticed by the observers.

“The CW should have taken over the rights and made a season 3 for The LA Complex”

The CW tried to acquire the rights to that hideous spectacle. Fortunately, the Canadian network that was airing the LAC was merciful enough to prevent that atrocity. BTW, the CW didn’t value the LAC for its ratings. It was a dirt cheap program that was making money online. IMO, it’s the worst program that’s been aired this century. Breaking Pointe may not have much audience appeal, but at least it doesn’t make viewers cringe to watch it.

i have watched all 180 episodes of Desperate Housewives and I find Mistresses to be much better with addictive intriguing storylines.it is the perfect replacement for DH.Abc should be content with its ratings since it is a summer show with lesser budget than 666 or last resort. It is a good quality show.it deserves a second season.i love it a lot.abc has already cancelled every single freshman drama except nashville which was getting only 1.6 inspite of being a fall show.if they cancel Mistresses people will lose faith in the network.so give us a second season.plus the cold war pilot sounds lame.

    @Tom

Shut up the L.A Complex was a great teen drama.

  • Tom

    @ Penny

I most certainly will not shut up; I will, however, put up:

    Entertainment Weekly, April 25, 2012:

“The CW’s new midseason effort, the imported sexy soap The L.A. Complex, set a new benchmark Tuesday night: According to network research analysts, The L.A. Complex is the lowest-rated in-season broadcast drama debut on record (tracking back to the start of the current ratings measurement system).”

Congratulations! It looks like you and a few deranged critics were the only ones who had enough fortitude to watch this debacle.

  • Mako

Amazing ratings for Under the Dome especially considering it’s summer and all shows generally have lower ratings during the summer months.

  • gerry

sucko for breaking pointe. i really like it, and completely forgot it was starting this week. i’m hoping that i’m not the only one, and they might see a slight bump next week. but doubtful.

i wish they would have started BP right at the end of the spring season when people were still in the mode of watching new programming week on week.

great number for UTD! The possibility of a second season has already been discussed, so its likely. summer is such a wasteland, please just keep it for summer, CBS.

I am not gay, and Mistresses still sucks!
