GH is lucky to get those numbers. I am a huge GH fan but the writing for the franco storyline has gotten stupid and ridiculous to me at least. But the rest of the show im enjoying. I watched B&B today and it was really good. It has stepped up it’s game as far as im concerned. Looks like days has lost its momentum. I watched days for about 3 weeks but got bored by the end. Y&R has always been a snoozefest for me but i have always felt that way. Overall decent week for soaps!

AMC is on fire! AMC always has and will be my favorite soap and it is not letting me down! Writing is superb. I am catching up on OLTL and its doing good as well. I’m personally enjoying the online soaps more than the network ones…

It completely baffles me as to how GH is actually going up since it has become the “Tanko” show. People actually are finding this crap thrown together and shoved down our throats by ReRon Carlivati entertaining?? Oh well, I guess it’s true when they say that car wrecks draw crowds. But I think fatigue will seriously set in if GH’s history continues to be trashed any longer. It saddens me to see how far this iconic show has fallen in quality.

  • Sean

GO GH!!!! This show is ON FIRE! Maura West & Kelly Monaco are KILLING Their scenes DAILY! GH is Crushing The View! WAKE UP ABC…THIS IS YOUR MONEY-MAKER! GO GH!

  • Deidra

    I agree Sean GO GH.

  • Joe S

I have to say very surprised at the rise in GH. Considering the overall unhappiness at least with the people who post on boards, etc it surprises me. I guess there are people enjoying what the show has become. Sadly this sends the message to the train wreck that is Cartini that there is nothing wrong with the show. That means probably won’t see any changes coming anytime soon. The only way that will happen is when numbers hit rock bottom. Any increase over one year ago will signal to them and to ABC that there are no issues.

It will be interesting to see when we get to the fall and winter months(the months when GH last year hit highs) how it performs compared to one year ago. But we are still a couple months off before that.

In regard to Days not surprised at the drops. Days continuous focus on Sami/EJ is what is hurting it in my opinion. Sadly right now I’d say it is the better show than GH but the ratings speak differently.

general hospital is not crushing the view the view avergages over 3 million viewers a week but how is the view doing in key demographics is it still ahead of the talk and the chew

  • jupiter3765

and do you think angry soap fans are hurting abc with their boycotting

  • Nick

Would you look at that, it’s front-running Sean!

Funny, when GH is up for a week, even ever so slightly, Sean comes on here like a full-blown rah-rah cheerleader with his “GO GH!”, “GH is ON FIRE!” nonsense. (Yeah, GH is “ON FIRE” all right. The heart and soul of the show is being burned down and gutted by those two hacks in charge.)

But whenever GH is down for a week, which has been a lot recently, Sean goes into the witness protection program like a coward. Memo to Sean: If you’re going to brag when the show goes up (and this seems to be nothing to brag about for GH), then how about actually showing up and commenting when the numbers are down? You’re the equivalent of a sports fan who only shows up and boasts about your team when the team wins a few games here and there, but then the moment the team goes on a lengthy losing streak and hits some adversity, you’re nowhere to be found as a fan expressing concern about the state of your team.

BTW, GH may be “crushing” (LOL) The View in your imagination, but not in reality it’s not. And unless you’re an ABC/Disney executive or stockholder (I certainly am not), you have no clue how much of a “money maker” GH is for ABC or if it is. We on the outside don’t have access to that financial data. We only see the raw ratings numbers and have no idea how that translates to ad revenue for the network.

Is this a site to discuss our soaps or bash commenters. Sean hasn’t hated on any soap he is supporting his. Your post Nick shows no support of any of the soaps. Now to not sound like a hypocrite, good for GH though I do think the re-writes for Todd and Starr were not well thought out. Shout outs to all the other soaps as well.

  • Mike

Glad to see B&B up. They built on that big Friday gain into this week.

I wonder if the Phyllis story will help Y&R rebound for next weeks ratings.

“how is the view doing in key demographics is it still ahead of the talk and the chew”

The View only pulled a 0.7 in W18-49, tying The Talk.

“and do you think angry soap fans are hurting abc with their boycotting”

You have asked this question multiple times and no there is no proof it is. ABC had a successful 2011-2012 season after the soaps were cancelled.

“The heart and soul of the show is being burned down and gutted by those two hacks in charge.”

The heart and soul of GH officially died in 2007 when Alan, Emily & Georgie were all killed off the same year.

I can understand some people’s frustration with the currnet storylines on GH. However, I am enjoying it. Yes, some parts may be stupid, but hey, that always happens in the world of soaps, and at the same time no one is forcing me to watch either. I am also liking how on the B&B they got straight to Wyatt being Bill’s son and Liam’s half brother. Thank goodness that didn’t get dragged out for a year. I hope on Y&R, they don’t drag out the fact that Nick really is Summer’s dad because Sharon switched the paternity test. Phyllis is coming out of her coma, so I hope she can say something, but I don’t expect it to happen soon.

  • Anon

@Nick can you calm down? Sean is happy that GH is doing well so just calm the heck down. I personally lost interest as soon as they found Lulu but I’m glad it’s continuing to do well because I catch a scene or two every now and then.

  • Joe S

@Nick seriously Sean isn’t on here attacking anyone or even another show. He chooses to come and post a positive thought. Well a lot of us don’t like what is happening, he definitely has the right to like it. Just because he may not come here and post on the weeks when it is down shouldn’t be an issue.

If he were attacking people I could see being upset.

I still cannot figure out what there is to like about GH, but if someone is enjoying it then more power to them. Just not for me right now.

  • Bex

I love how GH fans come out with the ‘on fire’ comments, yet when they are down the same people are no where to be found. GH is only on fire until it goes back to it’s usual numbers, which we know happens frequently. If the show wen’t up with the Todd fiasco, I’m guessing it will continue to be the Toddco show.

  • Sean

@TJ & @Anon You guys are so smart! Anyways GH IS Crushing The View..cuz Ad Revenues are based off of yhe MOST IMPORTANT 18-49! And if you compare #s ..GH is Doing AMAZING! GO GH!

  • Sean

Thanks Joe! GH has SO much to love about it! Acting is INCREDIBLE. hope you tune back in!

  • MikeB

Days will continue a downward spiral until they get rid of those new “nothing characters” like JJ and that Theresa. One rule of daytime, make characters appealing, you can be bad, but appealing at the same time. Look at Nicole, and EJ, and Sami, and Victor and Stefano. The JJ and Theresa thing needs to go quick, and be replaced by something more substantive. I have been watching Days since 1974, and right now it is good except for this.

  • robert sprague

gh is far from being on fire I have watch gh for over 30 years and im not liking it now the whole franco thing the britt Patrick Sabrina thing all non sence. gh is up when the vets are on it not the crap frank and ron are writting.

  • Joe S

@Bex While I can respect you dislike GH, your attacking their positive posts makes you look just as bad as some of the crazies we have had on this board in the past.

People saying GH is on fire is an opinion that they have a right to just liek you have a right to yours. They didn’t attack you so no need to attack them, just my opinion.

I wish people would stick to discuss the ratings and the shows here instead 95% of the time this thread turns into lets bash the other person because they like or dislike a show.

I personally am not liking GH at all right now. I don’t like that it is the Franco show, doesn’t mean I am going to attack someone for liking it
