I actually know Kay Alden is joining Y&R as part of the shakeup.

  • j

Days was interesting with Nick, now with JJ and Theresa its 2 brats.Casey Moss is a good actor but I find their story boring.Morgan on GH another teen story I find more interesting but the Franco character is so awful in looks and actingI can’t stand the sight of him thou I loved Roger on other soaps.Y&R and B&B continue to be in a class of their own.

  • Bizzarr1000

he signed a short term contract steve burton did

I post every week on here and I love GH.If only ABC would give it some publicity.Belle soaps get alot more and good for CBS.I have seen ads on Primetime.Keep it up CBS.Don’t want to see any soap loose veiwers. They all have fan base whether we watch that soap or not.am loving the online and watching on OWN hoping people will still watch reruns to get a network. We have many soap fans with no internet who are so happy to see them again.Bad thing is I don’t see any ads on them on major networks.TOLN and Own need to do this to let people know that have no clue.Hope next week there is no minus in any age group on all these wonderful soaps.Read about the tribute day for Jeanne Cooper in September.Glad CBS is honoring an ICON…

  • Eddie

Young and Restless is CRAZY for letting Michelle Stafford leave. She is a great actress and I can’t imagine anyone else playing Phyllis!

  • cc

Glad to see GH back up above Days. GH may not be perfect but they do have some fine actors. Pushing their GH vets to the backburner not a good thing though, especially after all the 50 anniversary touting.

As for the Franco show vs the Sami/EJ/Daniel show. At least RoHo is one helluva actor.

Mike…in regards to Kay Alden leaving B&B (if this is the “shocking writer change” story from many weeks ago, I’m not really “shocked” at the news…now, if Bradley Bell retired, I would be “shocked” by that), doesn’t that still leave Michael Minnis as co-head writer with Bell?

As far as “The Talk” vs. “The View”, personally, I prefer “The Talk” because – for the most part – they ignore political topics and focus more on pop culture or use a political topic to discuss something else (i.e. Anthony Weiner’s wife is “standing by her man”, would you do the same thing?). “The View” often times seems like a shouting match with all the women talking over each other to see if the person who talks the loudest wins the argument. Given the fact that “The View” airs earlier in the day (at 11:00 am, opposite “The Price Is Right” on CBS) when more people would likely be watching due to lunch breaks and whatnot, makes the accomplishments of “The Talk”, which airs later in the day, even more impressive.

I have not watched Y & R in months. I completely dislike everything about it stistically since the me regime . Today however I watched with my mother while on vacation and it was like old times. Has there been a writing change again? It had a Kay Alden feel to it? Are the rumors true that JFP is out or was today just a fluke?

  • Mike

Jay, Yes Michael Minis is still there. Kay Alden had just been there the longest of the two.

I agree about liking The Talk over The View. I have not been able to sit through an episode of The View in years. I used to watch it fairly often until the big fights when Rosie was there. I just got tired of the shouting matches…tuned out and never tuned back in.

As far as bringing up the actors. Every one of the 4 shows left on the networks has good actors. And all of them have bad.

And they all have their faves too as far as showcasing. It’s just like I read many times today when folks were bringing back up the Guza and Cartini fight. Many were saying they realized Ron C. has his faves just like Guza had his faves….it is just they prefer Ron C.’s favorite characters over Guza’s.

At least they are honest. You just have to decide in this day and age which air hogs you want to watch the most.

Personally I’ll take the airhogs on B&B and Y&R over those on Days or GH.

  • Mike

I just noticed that this last week The Talk won the time slot in Total Viewers

    The Talk 2,620,00
    GH 2,517,000
    DAYS 2,416,000

I included Days since in some areas on both coasts Days actually airs in the same time slot too. It does here.

  • Andy

I am liking GH. The Franco/Jason/brain tumor storyline is going to ‘redeem’ Franco as he’ll end up saving Danny. I am really liking the dynamic between Britt and Nik. I also this Maura West is playing Ava ‘purr’fectly catty. Sonny needs a front and center storyline and I am looking forward to the search for Luke and the possible reunion with Laura. I am still thinking a Robin appearance will be on the way soon and maybe a recasted ‘Jason’ will be back in Port Charles. There are things I don’t like. The show should just cut Brad, not a very good actor. The new Morgan has grown on me as has Dr.Silas. I am also liking that ELQ and the Quartermain’s are more involved. Wish list would be to have the Liz/AJ/Nik/Britt storyline heat up. A recasted Jason appear on the scene.Sonny needs a major storyline. Wrap-up the Maxie and Britt baby storylines, Get Maxie back with Spinelli. Pair up Carly and Sean. Alexis finds Sam’s father.

Good to see BB up which has quietly grown by nearly half a million in the last year. A bit surprised by DOOL, because I have been enjoying it. Although there has been a focus in Ejami, I’ve enjoyed seeing Adrienne more on front stage. I remember her agoraphobia storyline and Justin in the late 80’s. The new character Theresa reminds me of a young Julie Olsen, might Theresa become the new DOOL femme fatale of the twenty first century? With better writing she might.

My point is I welcome the new characters to Days, but they need to be more compelling: being related to the core families while smoking a bit of pot is not enough. Characters like JJ, Theresa and Abby need some depth to make us care instead of being just brats.

A decent exit storyline for Bo Brady and ANY storyline for Hope might help.

  • Mike

I am an old viewer of Days but haven’t watched in years.

What in the world is Days doing as far as having all these women in town without their husbands (i.e. Marlena, Hope and Kayla)

It just seems like on the outside it would be hard to constantly come up with excuses for where their husbands are.

  • Deshawn

I don’t care what people say gh is on fire I’m loving the storylines and now another vet is returning John Reilly my boy Sean donely people hate on gh when the ratings are down they knock the soap when the ratings go up they knock it people don’t want change grow up people stop being so negative I’m riding with gh no matter of you dont like it stop watching I know seven other people watch it and love it as well people are so negative it’s a shame

  • Mike

The John Reilly thing was proven to be a hoax. Some guy did it as a joke. The sites like Soap Opera Network that had it posted even took it down.

Being negative has nothing to do with growing up. Saying what you don’t like or don’t like about a show is part of life. People need to realize that not everyone is going to like the same thing. It’s part of life. If we all did life would be boring.

Folks who can’t handle someone saying they don’t like their show need to stay off the Internet. Because people are going to voice their opinions.

It’s funny that the people who cheer the loudest for being all positive and not saying anything negative are usually the ones most negative about everything else but their favorite show.

And telling people to stop watching that don’t like everything about your favorite show is the quickest way to get it cancelled. At least if a person cares enough to be negative they still care enough to watch. When they shut up and quit watching is when you have no chance to ever get them back. And every soap needs every viewer it can get right now.

  • GHFan

GH is not on fire right now. Sorry.

Until Franco & Kiki are off the show, it will not be able to top 50th Anniversary numbers. Other than those two, the show is decent. But RC still cannot write character development. Everything is plot points and I can’t invest my time in that, especially when the storyline is dropped out of nowhere.

I wish GH the best, but I won’t be watching until changes have been made.

  • PatF

Steve…how do you know she joining YR again? I’d love it…

  • Bizzarr1000

Jill killed off the Quartermaine’s. U cant blame frank for that i think we need more of bad guy sonny agan

  • Mike

I watched GH for over 30 years and I saw so many families and main characters written off. I never have understand this seeming obsession with blaming Guza and Jill for killing off the Quartermaines as if they were the only family to disappear from the show.

The Hardy’s and Baldwins were two of the longest families on the show and they were killed off long before the Quartermaines were. The Hardy’s extended into the Webbers who were the main core family of the show for many years and they too were wiped out.

To me too I never thought of GH as a family show. All the families through the years have had family components come and go. Even the Quartermaines never had that many family members fully on the show. The mainstays were Alan, Edward, Lila and Monica. Tracy was gone for years at a time. Cousins and Edwards illegitimate kids came and went from the 80s on.

There are so many Quartermaines out there floating around that the fans know and love there would never be any reason for any writer to have to create new ones.

  • Tim

I just watched fridays “Days of our lives”…..here comes Susan again, hopefully the devil will be back…love the show ,do not understand the rating or care anymore…Days is on fire……tim..
