LIFETIME’S DEVIOUS MAIDS REACHES
SERIES HIGH 2.9 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS

Fastest-Growing Drama in Network’s History Hits Highs in All Key Demos with 45% Jump in Total Viewers Since Premiere

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 29, 2013) – Lifetime’s all-new hit drama Devious Maids (#DeviousMaids) from executive producers Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, and starring Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes, continues to grow, having reached series highs across all key demographics in its sixth week on the air last night.  The network’s fastest-growing drama in its history and the number one ad-supported cable program among Women 18+ and Women 2+ in the Sunday 10:00pm ET/PT hour, Devious Maids yesterday averaged 2.9 million Total Viewers, a +45% jump vs. its June 23 premiere and +4% compared to last week, 1.4 million Adults 18-49 viewers (+69% and +8%), 1.3 million Adults 25-54 viewers (+50% and +18%), 1.1 million Women 18-49 viewers (+74% and +13%) and 1.0 million Women 25-54 viewers (+51% and +14%), according to Nielsen Research.

Devious Maids centers on a close-knit group of maids (Ortiz, Ramírez, Sánchez, Ganem and Reyes), bonded together by their jobs, life struggles and boss’ melodramatic “upstairs-downstairs” universe, that turns to one another for support after a fellow maid Flora (Paula Garcés) is brutally murdered at the home of her employers.  Devious Maids also stars Susan Lucci, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Mariana Klaveno, Grant Show, Matt Cedeño, Melinda Page Hamilton, Drew Van Acker, Brianna Brown and Brett Cullen.

Inspired by the hit telenovela, Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar, Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios.  The series was created by Marc Cherry and is executive produced by Cherry, Sabrina Wind, Eva Longoria, Paul McGuigan, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA’s Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.

  • Kissan

I loving this show right now. But how much demo did they get in A18-49?

  • Claudia

Its so soaperish that is so addicted…I loved it, last night was the first time since the show started that I watched it live couldnt wait for Monday its getting so juicy, specially Rosie and Mr Spence lol

  • QW

The 69 percent growth in the 18-49 demo from the premiere to episode 6 is amazing.

  • Matt

The show has gotten a lot better since the premiere. I also think its very wise they are finally using Lucci more and using her in advertisements as well. She has a huge fan base.

  • John A

So whats the demo? 1.1 or 1.2?

  • CS’ Revenge

I actually watched it for the first time last night and I thought it was really addictive like most soaps are.

  • CKO

The demo is most likely 1.1. It’s impossible to say for sure without the precise 18-49 figure.

  • taylor

This could of worked on ABC if they made the maids German or it alien or something besides Latinas . I also don’t get why it didn’t air on ABC in the first place I heard something being about that ABC doesn’t give a dam about Latinos but they aired ugly betty for 4 seasons ?

  • CKO

The pilot wasn’t great and that’s presumably why ABC passed on it. I bet they’re kicking themselves now, it has developed into a great show. It would have been perfect for their summer schedule.

  • Melissa

Should come out to a 1.1 A18-49 rating.

  • Juan

Love the show and yesterday’s episode was great. I hope it keeps increasing.

  • starship

It was the top worldwide trend on Twitter last night. It’s gaining momentum fast, I can see the ratings going up even more before the finale.

  • buttondiet

@starship I can too, Devious Maids definitely hasn’t peaked yet.

  • Funeral Dinner

It’s definitely a good thing ABC passed on the show, they would have never given it chance to gain this momentum!

  • Jared

I just recently caught up with Devious Maids and happened to watch last night live for the first time. I guess im not the only one.

  • Belle

If they would put as much into advertising DDD than it would have high ratings…I have not and will not watch this show..it looks stupid as crap…a night time soap is all it is!

  • Melanie P.

I caught some reruns of the show the other day and it is really good! Glad to hear it is doing well.

  • Chris Parker

AWESOME… I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW, congratulations on the gains.
