SATURDAY’S “48 HOURS: LIVE TO TELL: BLACK WAVE” ENCORE WAS FIRST AT 8:00 P.M. IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS

Saturday’s 48 HOURS: “Live to Tell: Black Wave” (R) (S) (8:00-9:00 PM) was first viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for July 27, 2013. 48 HOURS posted a 2.2/05 with 3.10m viewers.
Saturday’s broadcast featured the story of a family adventure to sail around the globe that turned into a catastrophe at sea when a mother was forced to make an unthinkable choice.  Jean and John Silverwood and their four children were heading toward Australia aboard The Emerald Jane when it struck an underwater reef. As they tried to turn around, a wave broke the vessel’s 2,500-pound mast, sending it crashing down on John and pinning him to the deck. With John bleeding profusely and water pounding the boat, Jean faced a harrowing decision: abandon ship and save the children, or risk all of their lives to free her husband.
