“CBS SUNDAY MORNING” POSTS DOUBLE-DIGIT PERCENTAGE INCREASES IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS COMPARED TO THE SAME WEEK IN 2012
CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD was the #1 Sunday morning news program with adults 25-54 – the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news – as well as viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for July 28, 2013.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING posted a 3.6/11 with 4.92m viewers and a 1.2/07 in adults 25-54. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +14% in viewers (from 4.31m), up +16% in households (from 3.1/09) and even in adults 25-54.
Television year-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +7% in adults 25-54 (1.5/07 from 1.4/07), and up +8% in both households (3.9/11 from 3.6/10) and viewers (5.53m from 5.12m) compared to last year.
Sunday’s broadcast featured CBS SUNDAY MORNING’s special edition dedicated to the pleasures of summer and was anchored by Lee Cowan from a mansion overlooking the Navesink River in Rumson, N.J. The broadcast included Cowan’s reports on hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as his profile of singer-songwriter Adam Levine. Also on the broadcast, Mo Rocca reported on the popularity in manscaping – the highly detailed grooming habits of some men, Rita Braver interviewed novelist Nora Roberts, and Tracy Smith looked at elaborate tree houses.
