Happy September! The new fall TV season will be here soon, and it's not to early to think about managing your DVRs.

Anything that's been announced that I missed, please let me know and I'll add it to the list.  If you see any errors, let me know about those too.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

If you'd like to see the night by night broadcast schedule grids including new and returning shows click here.

Note: mid-season shows (premiering after December) are deliberately not on this list.

    @rob60990

I’ve seen ads on CBS for the new comedies, granted I don’t watch CBS much in the summer, but Fox is putting the full court press for their new shows. At least on their sister stations (FX, FS1, FS2, FSNs, etc) anyway

  • Ryan

Whoops read that wrong. IN terms of NBC I haven’t seen much outside of MJFS and SSTW

  • Elijah

Do you guys think it is possible to get a syndication deal this year?

I remember NCIS LA, Hawaii Five 0, Modern Family, Glee, and some other shows got syndication deals like right after their first seasons.

  • Elijah

Woops I made a mistake I meant to say “Do you guys think it is possible for Elementary to get a syndication deal this year?”

  • Kissan

Now these are my predictions for the premieres:

    ABC

OUAT-3.0 and 9 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.5-2.8 and renewed)
Revenge-2.7 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.3-2.7 and renewed)
Betrayal-1.9 and 5 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.0-1.2 and cancelled)
DWTS-3.2 and 16 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.2-2.5 and renewed)
Castle-2.1 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.8-2.2 and renewed)
SHIELD-4.8 and 13 mill. viewers(steady at around 3.2-3.5 and renewed) Goldbergs-3.0 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.8-2.2 and cancelled)
Trophy Wife-3.3 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.3-2.6 and renewed)
Lucky 7-2.2 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.2-1.6 and cancelled)
The Middle-2.8 and and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.1-2.5 and renewed)
Back In The Game-2.4 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at 1.8-2.1 and renewed)
Modern Family-5.3 and 13 mill. viewers(steady at around 3.8-4.2 and renewed)
Super Fun Night-2.9 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at 2.0-2.2 and cancelled)
Nashville-3.0 and 9 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.8-2.1 and renewed)
OUATIW-2.9 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.9-2.2 and renewed)
Grey’s Anatomy-4.0 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at 2.7-3.0 and renewed if actors still want to do it)
Scandal-3.5 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.8-3.1 and renewed)
Last Man Standing-2.0 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at 1.4-1.7 and renewed)
The Neighbors-1.6 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at 1.2-1.4 and cancelled)

OUAT, Revenge, Nashville, GA and Scnadal will all go up because they’ll all run their episodes uninterrupted all the way to December. OUATIW will debut with a 2.9 because it will have a LOT of promotion from GA, Nashville, OUAT, Revenge, SHIELD and Scandal. Nashville will premiere with a 3.0 because it will have a 1 hr. MF as a lead in. Super Fun Night will only have 13 episodes and finish in December and Trophy Wife will move to Wednesdays in the post MF slot while in January Suburgatory will be on Tuesday in Trophy Wifes slot. Lucky 7 will be pulled before the new year and in January Mind Games will take its place. SFN, Goldbergs, Neighbors and Mind Games will all be cancelled at the end of the season.

    CW

Hart Of Dixie-0.6 and 1.5 mill. viewers(steady at 0.4-0.6 and renewed)
BATB-0.5 and 1.4 mill. viewers(steady at around 0.3-0.5 and cancelled)
The Originals(Thursday-2.4 mill. viewers and a 1.3)(Tuesday-1.1 and 2.2 mill. viewers)(steady at 0.8-1.0 and renewed)
Supernatural-1.0 and 2.0 mill. viewers(steady at around 0.7-1.0 and renewed)
Arrow-1.1 and 3.0 and mill. viewers(steady at around 0.8-1.0 and renewed)
Tomorrow People-1.0 and 2.5 mill. viewers(steady at 0.7-0.9 and renewed)
Vampire Diaries-1.4 and 3.0 mill. viewers(steady at 0.9-1.2 and renewed)
    Reign-0.8 and 1.8 mill. viewers(steady at 0.5-0.7 and cancelled)
Carrie Diaries-0.4 and 1.2 mill. viewers(steady at 0.2-0.4 and cancelled)

I think TCD will do eight episodes in 2013 from Oct. 25th to Dec. 13th, ANTM will end on November 8th and the final season of Nikita will start on Nov. 15th and since it only has six episodes I think Nikita’s last episode will be a two hour series finale on Dec. 20th. TCD will come back January 3rd to finish off their last five episodes all the way to Jan. 31st just before the Olympics in February. After TCD is done, on Friday February 28th I would move HOD to Fridays at 8 followed by Famous In 12 and put new show Star Crossed on Mondays at 8 and let BATB stay at 9. I think Reign will be done with its season by Thursday Jan. 30th and The 100 will go on Thursday at 9 until May 22 when their done with their season. I think Reign, BATB and TCD will all be cancelled by the end of the season.

    FOX

Bones(Monday)-2.3 and 7 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.9-2.1)(Friday-1.8 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at 1.4-1.6 and renewed for final season)
Sleepy Hollow-2.6 and 7 mill. viewers(steady at 2.0-2.3 and renewed)
Dads-2.2 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.4-1.7 and cancelled)
Brooklyn Nine Nine-2.4 and 5 mill. viewers(steady at 1.5-1.8 and renewed)
New Girl-2.6 and 5 mill. viewers(steady at 2.2-2.5 and renewed)
Mindy Project-2.2 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at 1.5-1.7 and renewed)
    X Factor(Wednesday)-3.1 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at 2.5-2.7 and renewed)
    X Factor(Thursday)-3.0 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at 2.4-2.6 and renewed)
Glee-2.6 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.1-2.4 and already renewed)
Junior MasterChef-1.5 and 3 mill. viewers(steady at 1.0-1.3 and cancelled)
Almost Human-3.1 and 9 mill. viewers(steady at 2.4-2.7 and renewed)
The Following-2.7 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at 2.3-2.5 and renewed)
Raising Hope-1.5 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at 1.1-1.3 and cancelled)
    Enlisted-1.2 and 3 mill. viewers(steady at 0.9-1.1 and cancelled)
Simpsons-3.8 and 8 mill. viewers(not steady because of football and renewed)
Bob’s Burgers-2.5 and 6 mill. viewers(not steady because of football and renewed)
Family Guy-3.4 and 7 mill. viewers(not steady because of football and renewed)
American Dad-2.6 and 6 mill. viewers(not steady because of football and cancelled by FOX and moving to TBS)

I think Almost Human and Sleepy Hollow will turn into hits and stay on Mondays. Bones will stay on Fridays for the rest of their run and this will possibly be Raising Hopes final season. B99 will get crushed in the ratings but I think FOX will move it away from SHIELD and NCIS and move it to 9:30 after New Girl in 2014, TMP will move to 8:30 and new comedy Us And Them will be on at 8:00. I think Enlisted will be pulled by November and I think another new comedy Surviving Jack will be on Fridays at 9:30 in 2014. I also think New Girl and a special preview of Us And Them will air after the Superbowl on FOX and The Following will air after the AFC Championship. I think new summer series Gang Related and the return of 24 will air on Mondays in the summer.

    NBC

The Voice(Monday)-4.6 and 13 mill. viewers(steady at 4.2-4.4 and renewed)
The Blacklist-4.1 and 11 mill. viewers(steady at around 3.0-3.3 and renewed)
The Voice(Tuesday)-3.8 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at 3.2-3.5 and renewed)
Chicago Fire-2.8 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.3-2.5 and renewed)
Biggest Loser-1.9 and 5 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.5-1.7 and renewed)
Revolution-1.8 and 5 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.4-1.6 and renewed)
    Law & Order:SVU-2.1 and 7 mill. viewers(steady at 1.6-1.8 and renewed)
Ironside-1.8 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.3-1.5 and cancelled)

WTTF-1.8 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.3-1.5 and cancelled)
Sean Saves The World-2.2 and 5 mill. viewers(steady at 1.6-1.9 and renewed)
    Michael J. Fox Show-2.6 and 6 mill. viewers(steady at 2.0-2.3 and renewed)
Parenthood-1.7 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.5-1.7 and renewed)
Grimm-1.5 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.3-1.5 and renewed)
    Dracula-1.5 and 4 mill. viewers(steady at 1.3-1.5 and renewed)

I think The Voice and The Blacklist will do very good on Mondays together. The Blacklist will have competition from Castle and Hostages though. I have a feeling WTTF will be cancelled but NBC will let it have its 13 episodes and then Community will move to 8:00 on Thursdays and then Parks & Rec will move to 8:30 since it does better there. I think SSTW will do alright but it will have competition from Glee, GA and The Crazy Ones and I think Parenthood will do good in its new time slot. I think Revolution and Chicago Fire will do better than we all expect in their new time slots but I think Ironside will be cancelled because it will be crushed by CSI. I also think Dracula will surprise because it looks extremely compatible with Grimm and it’s debuting near Halloween.

    CBS

    HIMYM-4.1 and 11 mill. viewers(steady at around 3.2-3.4)
    2 Broke Girls-3.8 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at around 3.0-3.3 and renewed)
Mom-3.5 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.8-3.2 and renewed)
Hostages-3.0 and 9 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.5-2.9 but cancelled cause it should be a miniseries)
NCIS-3.8 and 19 mill. viewers(steady at around 3.0-3.3 and renewed)
NCIS:LA-3.2 and 16 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.7-3.0 and renewed)
POI-2.9 and 15 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.4-2.8 and renewed)
Survivor-2.8 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.3-2.6 and renewed)
Criminal Minds-3.2 and 12 mill. viewers(steady at 2.5-2.8 and renewed if cast wants to go on)
CSI-2.7 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at around 2.3-2.6 and renewed if cast wants to go on)
TBBT-4.7 and 15 mill. viewers(steady at around 4.7-5.0 and renewed)
The Millers-3.7 and 11 mill. viewers(steady at 2.4-2.7 and cancelled)
The Crazy Ones-4.2 and 12 mill. viewers(steady at 3.0-3.4 and renewed)
Two & A Half Men-3.0 and 11 mill. viewers(steady at 2.5-2.8 and renewed for final season)
Elementary-2.5 and 9 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.9-2.3 and renewed)
Hawaii Five 0-1.4 and 7 mill. viewers(steady at 1.2-1.4 and cancelled)
Blue Bloods-1.3 and 10 mill. viewers(steady at 1.1-1.3 and renewed for final season)
Good Wife-1.7 and 8 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.3-1.6 and cancelled)
Mentalist-1.9 and 9 mill. viewers(steady at around 1.5-1.7 and cancelled)
We Are Men-2.6 and 7 mill. viewers(steady at 1.8-2.1 and cancelled)

I think POI will do well in its new time slot and also I think that The Good Wife and The Mentalist will both be cancelled. I think that The Millers will not hold enough of Big Bang’s audience and will get cancelled by December. Look for Two & A Half Men to do a series low and fall below ten million viewers and be forced in its final season. I think We Are Men is gonna fail against all the competition and will get cancelled by November and get replaced by repeats of TBBT. Mike & Molly will replace The Millers and new comedy Friends With Better Lives will replace We Are Men in January. I think when TBBT is on repeats, Mike & Molly will do two episodes.

I also think that Trophy Wife should DEFINITELY be on Wednesdays at 9:30 after MF not Super Fun Night.

    @rob60990
ABC & FOX seem to be the only 2 networks actively promoting their new and returning shows. NBC & CBS can’t even be bothered to start promoting premiere dates and it’s September 1st.

I’ve seen countless promotions for NBC’s new Thursday night comedies. As always, anecdotal evidence of lack of promotion is completely useless.

  • rob60990

I meant promoting the actual premiere dates, not saying Thursdays this fall.

  • Josh!

YAY something to comment about. i was hibernating till i saw this only a few more weeks to wait!!!!!!!!!! so excited!!!!!!!!

@Kissan, I agree with you. I was able to watch ABC’s Fall Preview Special and The Trophy Wife exceeded my expectations. It would fit perfectly after Modern Family. Malin Åkerman is really a breakout star in this vehicle. I’ll be flipping the channels to see The Mindy Project as well. That show was improving half way through season one. I’ll see which one will win my dedication this season.

Actually all of ABC’s comedy appealed more to me than CBS new comedies.

(Replying to a few pages back)

Fox has already announced that the post-Super Bowl slot will be a half-hour episode of New Girl partnered with a freshman sitcom.

I would guess they’ll use it to premiere Surviving Jack but wouldn’t be surprised if it was something else.

  • Ryan

ABC’s fall preview actually changed my mind on The Goldbergs to where I’ll give the pilot a shot. NBC’s (caught it on Bravo last week) didn’t help me purge any of their Thursday newcomers yet so maybe CBS will help so I’m not trying to juggle premiere weeks to catch each show and see which I’ll stick with.

  • HV

I think that ABC’s new comedies do not look very good with the exception of the midseason comedy Mixology, which looks alright.

  • Nancy

Well, 8 out of a gazillion isn’t bad. And half of those are on USA. So over cops and lawyers!

  • Ryan

Maggie Lawson has my heart so I’m watching Back In The Game

  • Abigail

    definitly:
    tHE BLACKLIST,THE GOLDBERGS,HOSTAGES

MAYBE: THE MILLERS, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY,BACK IN THE GAME, BETRAYAL

  • Networkman

I don’t understand why Lucky 7 has been slated to premiere in the Fall. I really don’t feel it will do any better than Body of Proof. While Body of Proof may be more old skewing than the other dramas in that timeslot, it is capable of drawing a decent size audience. And I feel the audience would be larger than what Lucky 7 will be able to garner.

    @HV

no Dancing with the Stars is premiering one week earlier this season. The only “new” broadcast competition it has it FOX premieres of Bones & Sleepy Hollow.
