If I am anything like Sean then you sir are a control freak. Rather than spend time sending off emails to the site owners, you should find a hobby. You sir are the type of person who complains about too much sex on television, when you have a choice in TV viewership.

I do not know if you are a liar, or if you have a problem fabricating things that simply are not there. Multiple people have written positive well thought-out comments regarding GH, and have displayed their immense joy regarding GH and it’s success over the past two weeks. I dare you to point out any comments made by me attacking them? My only gripe was with Sean, and people took one sentence made to a troll and turned it into something else.

I respond to things I find interesting, and ridiculous. I comment about Y&R ratings, GH failures, and casting decisions. Sorry if I don’t find it enjoyable to write 10 paragraphs about the numbers on a weekly basis.

@Mike. Yes Drake filmed his last scene on DOOL in March and his last appearence was last month. Like Bo there was not even a whiff of an exit storyline, and this is a fundamental weakness of DOOL right now. Irrespective of them both being vets it is very lazy writing to just drop a character without an explanation. It also leaves one half of a couple (Marlena and Hope) just hannging around in the background.
I get that DOOL is trying to develop other younger characters, but resolve the plot that has been created. Let these beautiful, vivacious women move on instead of being mere extras.

@lampshade that has been the biggest think with days, they just stop using the actors with no reason for the characters being gone.

I read Eileen Davidson will be leaving in a few months, but with days taping so far ahead she will still be on screen till march of next year. But still another big loss to Days

  • lampshade

@Joe. Yes, Eileen is leaving and I just hope they write a meaningful and fitting exit for the character. You are right Days has done this before-I remember Don Craig going to check the mail in 1985 and never returning; Neil Curtis going for a conference call and was never seen again, and Tommy Horton never did come down the stairs ever again.

Yes Days survived the loose and sloppy writing, but to keep established viewers and gain new ones writers need to remember their viewers are savvy and do notice continuity, especially when they are invested in the characters and storylines.

    Mrs. Garret…LOL! Best. Reply. Ever.

lampshade…I actually like the concept of characters just “disappearing”. OLTL did it with controversial same-sex couple Kyle and Fish. The actors playing the roles left, but the characters remained in town…they just were not featured anymore. I think they were mentioned a few times, but they were never seen again. We all have people that we lose contact with or just don’t see all that often anymore, so in a way it is kind of true to life.

  • Mike

I don’t mind characters disappearing when the other half of the couple is not there. It gets old when you see that character and they constantly come up with excuses for why their spouse isn’t there.

I remember when I was watching Days and Mickey was in town but every time they had a family gathering or whatever he was busy on a case or some other weird excuse.

    ***********

Joe S., Eileen Davidson will only air til November (about the 15th or so). She is no longer working. She filmed her last scene July 15th and they are 4 months ahead. SOD or Ken Corday one said her last scene would air in NOvember.

  • Mike

From looking at the 3rd week of ratings for AMC and OLTL they seemed to do about the same….majority of episodes down.

OLTL was down 3 days and up 1. Friday’s reruns did worse than the previous week. One day OLTL was down by about 50,000 (193,000 to 144,000).

AMC looks like up 2 and down 2 but on Tuesday they were down to 116,000 down from 194,000 the week before. Their Friday numbers for the repeats were actually up a little.

  • Dee

RC giveth and he taketh away. People raved about GH’s episode Friday and come Monday it was back to being focused on the Ex-Livers. So disappointing and pathetic. The RC butt kissers need a reality check.

  • Tim

I know that the gay storyline will be going strong, cause there is a new guy in the picture lately i believe his name on the show is brent,as far as hope goes, they should team her up with raf….Marlena its time to get with stefano….I have watched days for 40 years,i will always like it no matter what….i have no oppion at all of the other soaps, cause i don’t watch them…As far as ratings go…..if you go back to 15 years ago….Primetimes no.1 show was pulling in 25 to 30 million viewers, today the no.1 show pulls in 12 to 15 million…….and soap opera back in the day “days of our lives” will getting 5.6 million viewers…today it gets 2.5 million…So it comes down to almost the same thing….Television has lost over half its viewers in the last 10 to 15 years….Daytime or nighttime….i watch DAYS on computer now….and alot of people do….Tim

    LOL @ Mrs Garret

  • Joe S

@Mike I had not realized that Eileen Davidson had finished taping. I thought Novemeber was when she finished taping and would air into next year. Thanks for the information.

In regard to AMC/OLTL they seem to have settled in to the same viewers each week. I wonder how the numbers will be with them now only being on once per day.

@Dee I wouldn’t get hopes on seeing vets every day. As I have said before the vets are not necessarily the answer, its good storytelling and writing. If the vets are just on to be on not going to change anything

  • Mike

    Joe S

I think from what I have been reading from sites like SON (from some of their insiders) you will be seeing the vets quite a bit in the coming weeks on GH. One insider specifically said that John J. York and Kristina Wagner had filmed a lot of stuff. I think I remember her posting that it would air in August.

So you will probably see an increase in ratings due to that.

Not sure how long all of it will last as they have not said.

  • Joe S

    @Mike
Probably Mac and Felicia’s wedding, will probably tune in to see that but worried that there will be a lot of other stuff with Franco etc that I will not enjoy but will give it a chance.

I guess we will have to see how the numbers are for that plus with the interest as it seems from reading online of the Jerome family return.

  • Jennifer

DAYS is pretty good, KUDOS to both Kristen (Eileen Davidson) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) for both delivering great performances this week. They are both very interesting and important characters. As for the men, well that Galen Gehrig who plays Rafe….I can never get enough of him!!! Good job DAYS!

  • Jeff

So, Sean’s a troll because he posts his enthusiasm for GH when he wants, but some of you who post 20-30 times in a week attacking people’s opinions while cheerleading your own opinions aren’t trolls.

    Interesting….

  • Mike

Wow The Talk set another record last week. Up to 2.6 million viewers.

Will be interesting to see how the soaps did.

I know I and others have said it before but I wish someone would put out a full list of the daytime shows as far as ratings. It would be nice to get the full picture.

  • Chrisann D

Hi Jeff, As you can see this site just stays the same…just different people. But so good to see you!

  • Jeff

Good to see you too Chrisann. I post once or twice when the ratings come out. Love seeing GH improve again, and happy all the soaps are doing better. No need to get into all the board drama, but I just can’t believe people are calling someone a troll for posting once or twice when he wants about his favorite soap.

Hope you are doing great! Take care.

  • PatF

The Talk is now beating even Days and GH in total viewers. Wow.

CBS’lineup is pretty solid. Good job.

  • Joe S

Interesting they are beating them in total viewers, now totally shocking would be if/when they beat them in the key 18-49 and 18-34 demos

The site that usually posts the ratings has not had any updates on their actual site for a few days, wonder if this means we won’t get the ratings from last week today
