Under the Dome 7 29

Under The Dome is a hit by any measure, continuing to deliver huge numbers for a 10PM drama, scoring a renewal, and proving that it is possible for a broadcast network to successfully launch a scripted program in the summer. For the past two weeks it has garnered a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. However, this week many Time Warner Cable customers are currently without CBS -- including Time Warner Cable customers in the two largest Nielsen markets (New York and Los Angeles) thanks to the epic dispute between the two media conglomerates. The show also faces tougher than usual competition from The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose. will these factors slow its momentum?   Make your predictions.

I hope so! Even though millions of viewers cannot watch CBS due to Time Warner Cable blocking this network in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas and several major cities, while negotiation continues! My family will miss UTD tonight!

  • Nathan

    2.6 – 2.7.

  • Dan S

I think it’ll dip to 2.5 tonight. The TWC blackout in major markets won’t help. The Final Rose could also take a bite but UTD will be back next summer.

  • John A

Its not affecting anything thing else on CBS so i say no. It will dip to a 2.6 but that will be a natural decline.

  • Dennis

    I also went for a 2.5

Still by every means a MEGA HIT :D

  • Andy

Maybe a 2.6 but – as said before – its not really affecting anything yet.

  • kim

here in Canada we get all the shows it does not affect us

  • halloween

thanks for cbs/time warner for giving me a reason to quit the show for good…not gonna both with this mediocre UTD anymore

  • Raykov

I don’t think it’ll drop… There was the same thing with Dish and AMC a while ago and it didn’t hurt The Walking Dead at all.

  • Mark

Big Brother stayed fairly consistent with a 2.2 last night (only dipped a little), so I see UTD going down maybe 2 tenths, but thats it. It will be fine.

  • were123

I think it will hurt a little, 2.5 probably

  • Croq

    I’m thinking it’ll hold steady.

  • somebody

I think the story line is far too abstract from one episode to another with the plot held back far loo long. This will cause ratings to drop. I for one have lost interest.

I will guess a 2.7 after final adjustments.

  • Simon

Even with the last several weeks is my guess. These type of ‘disputes’ RARELY hut shows with strong audiences and even IF it does slip it is still one of the highest rated Summer shows

  • sam

    I miss rose!!

  • A. Rod

The king of television dethroned that stupid show last night. This show needs to start falling. Doesn’t deserve the ratings its getting.

  • Kenny

The fact that the blackout doesn’t affect ratings at all says how antiquated the system is and how it is not accurate. How if millions in the biggest markets not watching doesn’t affect anything is just not right.
