    John A TNTs other show Rizzoli and Isles gets similar demo numbers as Falling Skies at 1.0 and higher but that is the only other TNT show I know of. The rest of there shows do. 9s and lower.

    Dexter’s had an obvious impact on Blood this season, but DISC has done the most damage. The Sharks attacked Blood both in the premiere & the encore. I’m confident it will get back the 300k 18-49 it lost on the night next weekend, & Dexter won’t be there next season. The BREAK/Blood preview space was as strong as last wk. Newsroom continues to prove it’s an awful fit for Blood fans as it lost 70% of Blood’s 18-49 viewers.

    HBO should take notice. If they’ve run out of good scripted shows to follow Blood then just go the extreme reality route like Discover has. It’s a lot cheaper & they can go MA extreme.

    @Robert

    Oh well..I didn’t know about the budget increase…
    I’m done with the show anyway, its been a huge steaming pile of $%$% this year with not single memorable moment, let alone episode.

  • Maja

    The Killing will not rise above 0.4 rating no matter what. It will be up to AMC to decide if it is worth to renew a show that will not have audience growth but has a steady audience.

  • Dennis

    @Daniel

    I disagree…The Newsroom has been much better this year.

  • Dennis

    @Maja

    it got two 0.5′s and a 0.6 earlier this season

  • BoSox Juan

    Sorry, Killing fans but a 0.5 18-49 9pm premiere is not good enough. The only way this comes back is if the producers & cast are willing to take a sizeable cut in the cost of the show & agree to air it a different time. It’s not good enough for Sun 9pm. Many reality tv programs did just as well airing an hr later.

  • Dennis

    @BoSox Juan

    It got the exact same ratings last year…so i’m sure AMC breathed a sigh of relief that it didn’t drop further… season 3 was a co-production with Netflix, and all signs are pointing to a fourth season renewal. According to deadline “Sources say things are looking very good”

  • Daniel

    @Dennis Why do you think it is better? I don’t like the long term story lines this season.

  • Dennis

    @Daniel

    I’m really liking the season arc storylines that were missing from season 1. Season 1 was full of stand alone episodes where everything was wrapped up in the hour.

  • Bill

    @Twist of Fate Good Luck Charlie was new.

  • Michael

    I am starting to see GLC season 4 ratings
    Are slipping

  • Samunto

    Is it only me or are the ratings for Newsroom lower than season 1? It’s been renewed for a 3rd season but i still worry about those ratings.

    And Devious Maids has really been growing. Maybe i’ll give it a chance after that dismal pilot put me off completely.

  • Jon23812

    It was just a bad night for Disney, like that third week in May. I wonder how much Shake it Up did?

  • sac

    Robert on the Falling Skies deal… I thought the only ratings that count are live plus same day and the demo. I thought overall viewers does not matter its the demo that matters.

  • Tony JJ

    @Samunto. Do give Devious Maids another shot. I did not like the pilot at all! But I binge watched it this weekend it is a really good show. Every episode got better and now I’m addicted. I suggest trying it out again and give it time.

  • AllOfHerTwist

    “Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives” at the top of the list? Seriously?

  • BoSox Juan

    Dennis, look at the facts. AMC abruptly canceled The Killing after S2 ratings that were on par with S3. In Nov a partnership with Netflix improved the budget & they were able to attract sponsorship with that. The sponsors won’t be as gullible for a S4. The only way The Killing gets a S4 is if the cost of the show is cut in line with the ratings. Even then, it might not happen if AMC decides they can do extreme reality as well as DISC.

  • BoSox Juan

    REM: The Netflix partnership was announced in Nov, but it wasn’t until late Jan, 2013 that AMC announced a S3. That means sponsors weren’t quick to sign up. They had to be convinced. That will be a much tougher sale for S4.

  • gerry

    @ daniel – this season’s arc was incredible. it tied the show together as a whole and peter saarsgard was brilliant.

    @ bosox – it was pulling the same ratings when it was canceled after s2, and then picked back up because of the netflix deal. i think the fact that the ratings didn’t drop this year bodes well. and with amc losing breaking bad this season and mad men next, this is the net’s only critical darling still airing. so there are things that favor a renewal.
