    Go Dexter!

  • Ram510

That was the best episode of Devious Maids yet! I think it was because they simplified the cast and made it just about the 4 central women and their interaction with each other. They finally picked up the pace and got the story moving

  • Daniel

@gerry I watched season one all at once, so that could be why I like it more. I think in season two the characters are apart, while in season one they all interacted with each other more.

  • BoSox Juan

@gerry, the Netflix deal served as a budget cut for AMC. That’s why it made sense to bring it back. But networks don’t normally bring back shows to maintain lowered ratings. Is The Killing still a critically acclaimed show? I agree that’s a strong reason to bring it back if the $’s still make sense to AMC.

Falling Skies is considered family entertainment so the demogs outside of 18-54 matter more to it’s sponsors than it’s competition. With Dexter gone, I expect them to move it back to 9pm for 2014. It makes more sense to go Falling Skies 9pm, Hero or some other extreme reality afterwards, & Falling Skies 11pm. They can still use a movie-lead in & follow-up.

  • Philip

I don’t like that AMC makes past seasons of shows available to Netflix but does not do that for its subscribers. Why do they do that?

  • Wright

    Falling Skies….such a great show!!!!

  • Eddie Beale

Great that Devious Maids did that well despite the beginning of Shark Week. Definitely time for a renewal.

  • Cheryblosen

Drop dead diva should at least be given a final season

  • CKO

    @Philip

Because Netflix pays for exclusivity. In the same way subscribers aren’t entitled to free DVDs of shows, they have to pay to access previous seasons via Netflix or other means.

  • samurai99

    @Juan

hbo runs the newsroom after true blood so that they can keep different parts of their subscriber base (fantasy lovers vs. Political junkies) happy at the same time. Same reason they run veep after game of thrones.

As far as the killing goes, Netflix rescued this show when it was doing practically the same numbers. They’re probably just waiting to see how low winter Sun does.

  • TV Addict

I remember that I first found out about Falling Skies when it was chosen as one of the Critics Choice Awards most exciting new shows. Even since then I have loved watching it and I can’t wait for more. Ok, so this season it has slid quality wise and rating wise, but I’m sure next season will be better. I hope it can continue for many years to come, but if next season is its last I hope it goes out with a bang.

  • Philip

@CKO But people who may not be paying for AMC get access to past seasons while someone paying for AMC does not. I think it is AMC being greedy. That would be like a restaurant making you pay for a meal and only giving you some of it. If you want the rest you have to order more.

  • serendipity’s last stand

This has been the best season of trueblood since season one.

  • Simon Jester

@Philip – AMC is not a subscriber channel. You may pay for cable, but you don’t pay for AMC per se.

  • Philip

@Simon Jester It does not annoy you that they do this? They get money from Netflix, AMC could’ve made a deal where AMC subscribers also get access.

  • Simon Jester

@Philip – Annoy me that they do what? Since there is no such thing as an “AMC subscriber,” I don’t know what it is you believe they owe you.

  • Philip

@Simon Jester Some of the money you pay in your cable package goes to AMC, they make money off of ads, and they make money from Netflix. You are giving AMC some amount of money each month, in return they should offer current and past seasons of programming.

  • Simon Jester

@Philip – Sorry, but I don’t expect *any* cable company to offer me unlimited access to their back catalog forever. I watch (or DVR) the shows when they air, but if I miss them, I assume I’ll have to rent or buy them later. In other words, just like every other cable network. The idea that AMC “owes” me free access to Rubicon if I watch Low Winter Sun is ridiculous.

  • Philip

@Simon Jester If AMC and other networks offers past seasons of shows more people would catch up and start watching. They would be able to make more money off of ads. In an A la carte model would you expect past seasons?

  • Skinemax

Devious Maids came out of nowhere grabbing 2.7 million viewers this week.

Total Divas is a Total Fail only grabbing 1.5 million behind Kardashian’s 2.8 million.

Ray Donovan is easily the best show since The Wire. If you have Showtime I would highly recommend checking that one out and Banshee on Skinemax.
