Scoreboard ABC CBS UNI NBC FOX CW
Adults 18-49: Rating/Share 2.6/7 1.6/5 1.2/3 1.1/3 0.7/2 0.2/1
Adults 18-34: Rating/Share 2.3/7 1.1/3 1.1/4 0.8/3 0.6/2 0.2/1

ABC was number one with adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On ABC, the season finale of The Bachelorette earned a season high 2.6, up 8 percent from last week's 2.4 adults 18-49 rating but down 16 percent from a 3.1 for last season’s finale on Sunday, July 22. It was the show’s lowest rated finale ever. The Bachelorette: After The final Rose tied its lowest rating ever with a 2.5 down 19 percent from last season's 3.1 adults 18-49 rating on Sunday, July 22, 2012.

On CBS, Under the Dome earned a series low 2.5 down 11 percent from last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too optimistic. Both CBS’s ongoing carriage dispute with Time Warner, which has left TWC customers in Los Angeles, New York City and Dallas without CBS, and unusual competition from what was billed as the most dramatic Bachelorette finale ever could be entries on your Fan Excuse Bingo card.

On NBC, American Ninja Warrior notched a season low 1.4 down 7 percent from last week’s 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. Get Out Alive With Bear Grylis garnered a 1.3 up 8 percent from last week's season low 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.  Siberia tied last week’s series low 0.7 adults 18-49 rating.

On The CW, Breaking Pointe scored a season low 0.1 down 50 percent from last week's 0.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

According to Variety, UTD had minimal change in NY. But in LA it fell almost half from last week in 18-49 and in Dallas it went from a 3.7 to a 3.0. So yeah — the dispute definitely impacted numbers for CBS last night.

I thought Under the Dome was really bad yesterday, and I’ve probably given up on watching it in the future. I don’t care about a single character, and dislike most of them. At least one of the more dreadful women died in the episode, but as yet the story hasn’t overcome the lousy characters/casting of this mess.

  • Mon

    @rob60…
Under the Dome faces a little extra competition and falls. Of course its fans would blame the blackout because its a convenient excuse but its not hurting anything else on CBS.

  • Fred

Can’t blame ABC for milking this tired franchise till its bone dry.
Must be very profitable for them.

I have been enjoying Under the Dome from the beginning. However the last several episodes seem to be very formulaic. One ep features a water shortage, next medicine next food, gas etc……
Getting a little formulaic. But still enjoying it.

Why would anyone pay for cable if they live in Los Angeles, New York City or Dallas? Those cities have more than enough free channels, including CBS, so cable is just a stupid waste of money! Trust me on this, I live in the middle of nowhere, so I need cable to watch anything good, but most of you don’t!

  • cc

Has TWC been added to the fan excuse bingo card yet?

  • TR

The Under the Dome drop is going to get worse. People watched that show for a 13 episode arc. This show is horrible as a multi-season show.

  • scfyi

I am getting the Stargate Universe vibe from UTD. It doesn’t feel very good.

  • Survivor Fan

Was ANW a 1.4 or 1.3? Press release also says 1.4.

I watched UTD last night and was amazed how HORRIBLE it was! What a premise! “Imagine if tomorrow a dome just popped up around you”. LOL Doesn’t surprise me from a network, CBS, that’s crime shows involve, having a suspect (no, it’s not them who did it), another suspect (no, it’s not them, either), and on and on, without giving the viewers evidence to work them, themselves, to have them invested in the show. WHAT ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!!

  • Brady

    @TR

lol can I borrow your crystal ball? :D

  • rgxx

“Fan Excuse Bingo Card” – haha – good one TV BY the #’s

  • rgxx

    BINGO!

  • rgxx

Raising Hope repeats equally or better than New Girl?!

  • rgxx

Why do people watch the Bachelorette still?

Only 2 couples out of the last 20 on Bachelorette & Bachelor have married.
The rest have alllllll split up.

So the show only brings false hope. Move on people! ROMANCE IS NOT DATING 35 PEOPLE AT THE SAME TIME

  • Psac

Don’t watch anything on CBS besides UTDome. NY Time Warner blackout is a valid excuse.

  • rgxx

Though I don’t go out of my way to watch it – Get Out Alive is waaay better than Survivor

  • cheri

I totally forgot UTD was on last night :(

  • Jazz

I like Under the Dome. It does not require any thinking on my part. And the mini-me dome with the black egg cracked me up. It works for a summer show. Also I really like the lead guy. I remember him from Pan Am and did not think much of him. I really like this darker dude. This show also fills in the gaps that Revolution blew off.

  • Alan

Still pretty good for UTD! The CW should dump Breaking Pointe already.
