Burbank, CA (August 9, 2013) –“A” sends the Liars on a quest that leads to Ravenswood in “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t,”  the summer finale episode of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” airing Tuesday, August 27th  (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).

An intriguing riddle from “A” has the Liars hitting the road and heading to Ravenswood, where they are surrounded by some familiar faces. During a very special magic show, one Liar pulls a disappearing act, leaving the other three scrambling to make sure she hasn’t succumbed to “A’s” tricks. But before they can hightail it out of Ravenswood, they make a shocking discovery that proves that everything they thought they knew about “A” and the “A” team might be wrong. With this discovery, the Liars may just have started “World War A”--  #WorldWarA.

Meanwhile, Hanna and her mother’s joyous reunion is cut short when “A’s” sights are set on a new target. And Toby uncovers some surprising information about Wren.

Feeding into the fans’ insatiable social appetite, beginning August 18, the series will count down the Top 10 most shocking reveals in “Pretty Little Liars” history to date, with one moment posted each day on all “PLL” social media platforms, with the reveal on August 27 topping them all! waiting for that !!!!

    ha, yeah, i bet.
I LOVE PLL but i’m tired of Marlene lying to us. She always says something big is gonna be revealed but then nothing happens, just EVEN MORE QUESTIONS!!!.

Just watched all 3 seasons on Netflix and now caught up. I wish ABC Family would do a Pretty Little Liars Season 4A marathon so I can catch up!!!

This show is definitely a guilty pleasure. I also like the mother that played on Charmed as Piper Halliwell the middle turned older sister when Shannon Doherty tried to ruin another Aaron Spelling Produced Hit!!!

  • John A

Speaking of Holly Marie Combs how come she has been down graded to ‘Special Guest Star’? Anyone know?

  • CS’ Revenge

If it’s not revealing “A” then I don’t care. PLL is starting to fall off in my opinion as I’ve enjoyed Twisted a lot more this season.

  • Bad Wolf

Apparently there are (at least) two big reveals during the course of this episode. These are the 2 mysteries who should be solved (if Ms King didn’t lie of course, just like her heroines !) :
    – Is Alison dead or alive ?
    – Who is ‘Red Coat’ ?
Now, are Red Coat and A the same person ? Since they appeared in 2 separate scenes at the end of this week episode, it seems that they are 2 different persons (but it could just be a trick and A took off the coat to play the piano).
But, if Alison’s dead, Red Coat was obviously wearing a mask when they pulled the girls out of the lodge in the season 3 finale, and A has been seen wearing this mask at the end of the series 4 premiere. So… what to make of all this ? Since Pretty Little Liars as already been renewed for a 5th season, this summer finale can’t be the definitive end of the A mystery (I haven’t read the books so far but I’ve read somewhere that the Liars are currently facing their 3rd A, so even if the person who took the reins after the events of the season 2 finale gets unmasked too, there’s still room for more).

Anyway, even if I’ve lost track of all the questions raised on the show since day 1, I’m still obsessed about it, I find the characters still likable (with Spencer being my favourite Liar and Aria being strangely bearable this season) and I still love the mysterious and dangerous atmosphere the show’s shrouded in. I personnally can’t wait for this year’s Halloween special, described by Marlene King and Lucy Hale as being very dark and one the best written episodes yet. Even if the show in itself is a pure guilty pleasure, I consider episodes such as ‘The First Secret’ (2-13) and ‘This Is a Dark Ride’ (3-13) as real gems (the bizarre Blank Face and the Queen of Hearts characters are among the most unsettling things I’ve seen on TV – and that’s saying something !).

  • Bad Wolf

    @John A

I was wondering the same thing, I sure hope her departure isn’t permanent. It fits well with the currents events (the mothers targeted by A – beware Veronica !), but I already miss her and she was one of the two main reasons I began watching the show (the other being the A mystery).

As I have said before , for all invovled in the show, hopefully there is a proper end game for this show and the show gets to the bottom line with a smashing conclusion before too many fans begin to drift away because they of indifference and CS’Revenge’s response is a good sampling of this. Like “The Mentalist” with its’ Red John character, Pretty Little Liars needs to tell us all who “A” is before before people start not to care anymore.

  • Nikki

I think Ellas storyline is whats making her a guest star.. there are so many characters if they gave all of them regular roles the credits would last half the show maybe more. But i agree i miss her and hope they bring her back regularly soon. But now were seeing more of Emilys mom which we havent really, so thats cool to see that dynamic and all.
And second.. i understand the frustration with the questions and no answers.. but thats the show. The mystery is the driving force, once we know who A is the shows over. So they are gunna wait till the last possible second to tell us. But they do a good job keeping us interested.. i mean as far as i can say anyways.
They may give you 100 questions but they give you a few answers and the questions they ask are always worth trying to figure out, in my opinion anyways. I have a feeling PLL will go to season 6 and end then. Theyve got enough story to go that far…

I love this show. We are geting answers slowly about A and the A team. It sounds like we will learn alot more in a couple of weeks in the season 4a finale.

I hope Red Coat is revealed, The person on the other end of the phone, Who killed Ali and Wilden?? Who pulled Ali put. And who pushed Ian off the bell tower.
