The epic saga of The Borgias, starring Oscar® winner Jeremy Irons in his Golden Globe®-nominated role as Pope Alexander VI, concluded in June on SHOWTIME. The supporting cast also included François Arnaud, Holliday Grainger, Joanne Whalley, Lotte Verbeek, Sean Harris, Thure Lindhardt, Gina McKee, Peter Sullivan, Julian Bleach and Colm Feore.  Creator Jordan also served as an executive producer, writer and director of select episodes.  The third season was executive produced by Jack Rapke, Darryl Frank, John Weber, Sheila Hockin and James Flynn.  The Borgias was a Canadian-Irish-Hungarian Treaty co-production.

I do not think this is going to satisfy the thousands of Borgias fans out here fighting for a conclusion to Neil Jordan’s story. An ebook? That’s how you want to give us our conclusion? NO! I WILL NOT BUY! Do not want to READ THE CONCLUSION, I WANT TO SEE IT… with Francois Arnaud, Jeremy Irons, Holliday Grainger, and Sean Harris!!!!

If SHO thinks this is going to make the Save The Borgias fans go away … WRONG!! WRONG! WRONG! Thank you but no thank you, we will CONTINUE OUR FIGHT!

  • Sean

I really hate it when a show has to be finished by print. Nine times out of ten the American (and sometimes British) audience can enjoy it, but the other, international audiences are left out. Mostly because they don’t know about it or because it is not translated in their language. So come on Showtime, finish the series like it should be!

  • Elham

We do not need a book we can read their a story anywhere, we need a movie.

  • Kina Mar

Look at the timing: On the day we post about SMGO.TV then they pull this out. They want us to go away, and were not! We aren’t the first fans in history to want a show back, and we wont be the last! They want to give us an inch, because we want a mile. We already compromised: Were aiming for a mini-series or the movie. He still has the original movie script, he just took parts from it to make a book..Its all about diversion of negative press, they want us to stop! NOT HAPPENING!! Showtime is so greedy its truly sickening, they are all about money!I can check a book out from the library for free if I want to read about it. I for one won’t be buying any ebook to get my conclusion lol! My conclusion includes Francois, Sean, Jeremy, and Holliday, along with the rest of the cast. I want to SEE… not READ!

  • Luke

Okay, to be honest, I think the four users who’ve commented on this post are being incredibly ungrateful. I can’t count how many great TV shows I will never watch because of the fact that they ended on a cliffhanger (“My So-Called Life,” etc.). If I’d seen the show (which I will, eventually), I would be grateful I was getting an ending at all. So stop whining that you don’t get to see the actors play it out; Neil Jordan was a book writer before he was a TV writer, so I’m sure HE’s happy he gets to resolve the stories in this manner. I suggest you be grateful that you’re getting a resolution at all.

  • cara

well, now I get to read the script instead of seeing Cesare and Luca and the Alexander. I am just thrilled. I guess I shouldn’t complain, something is something. Many fans of cancelled shows wish they were getting this.

  • Annie

I’m glad the story will get an ending in some form but that doesn’t mean I want the show back any less. And Luke, we Borgias fans are not “ungrateful”. The original plan for the show was to have 4 seasons. It was cancelled after 3.

  • kathy

Well, Neil.. you are the only one “excited” by this news… “throw them a scrap”, eh… why don’t I just go the the local library….

    SEE THIS THROUGH!

  • Cass Leroux

It’s great news that the ebook will be released but it’s not a replacement for a season four or the movie that the ebook is based on. So thank you, but also, come on and make the film too :D

  • LMD

The script was already written, so we’re getting to see what was planned. But we still want the actors and costumes and to watch it! I own movies based on books (and own the books) and I have books that are novelizations of movies. They both have value but they are different things. Let’s hope this is just the start.

  • Gachi

First I think ebooks are cheap ripoff of actual books. Second I want at the very least the 2 hour movie with all the original actors.

  • Gilly Hynes

I’ve read it – it is a conclusion but it is not the movie – I can visualize the actors in this though reading it felt quite disjointed.
I don’t see this e-book quite fulfilling the actual hopes and dreams of a Season 4 or the actual 2 hour movie, but I do understand Neil wanting to give his loyal and ardent fans some closure. Thank you Neil, BUT, we still want the filmed finale !!

  • IhateandIove

Love the fact that a writer wanted to give what he had. That’s loyalty to fans. On the same hand, this just fueled my fire to get Season 4 on screen! SMGO and the #savetheborgias campaign will move forward to bring this to a reality. go VOTE with me at smgo!

  • Deb Cason

NO MOVIE, NO SEASON 4 = NO SATISFACTION FOR THE MILLIONS OF “RABID” BORGIA FANS………….

Although we are very greatful to Mr. Jordan for at least giving us the conclusion in written format. We ARE NOT PLEASED SHOWTIME, with your lack of respect for the millions of Borgia fans, you know what we want. We want to see = view, the series finale so as to feel the Borgias in all of their glorious grandeur as we have been stating all along. SHOWTIME QUIT PLAYING GAMES WITH US, your customers and the loyal supporters of the Borgias. And hey to the guy who commented above trying to compare My so Called Life to the exceptional splendor of the Borgias, was like comparing a Toyota(my so called life) to a Masarade (The Borgias)!!!

  • Disappointed

This is a joke, right – Showtime published this under Neil Jordan’s name to stop the fan campaign? Who are these characters? I don’t recognize them. They bear no resemblance to those we have seen over the last three seasons. Scrap this. Write a proper season four that reflects the character dynamics and behaviors the fans are invested in.

  • Soledad

I think a great gesture on the part of Neil Jordan, allowing us to have a look at the end that I had planned for our beloved show (Neil we love you!) From Showtime and I expect nothing, made ??fun of us before and they do now too. I guess something is better than nothing, and that we should not be greedy and we should be grateful for that, however I’m sorry but it feels like a disappointment …

  • STB Fan

Fans are not placated by the release of this script. Feedback clearly is showing that many fans feel that the script was rushed in response to David Nevins’ thoughtless canceling of a series that was so obviously supposed to last for at least another season. The introduction, written by Mr. Jordan, says so much when he says that he was creating a “40-hour film”. If Showtime and Mr. Nevins think that the release of this “ebook” will quell the series’ fans, the network and he are sadly mistaken. This has only served to embolden fans and renew their dedication to work towards seeing a full season of The Borgias. SMGO.TV has joined forces with the Save The Borgias Fan Campaign™ and other fan groups to help fans reach their objective. Fans are being called to join and support the effort.

Hasn’t ANYONE learned yet that Borgia fans don’t settle? The screenplay was rushed and in the case of Lucrezia and Cesare their realationship and feelings jumped from A to C with no “B tween.” SaveThe Borgias .com are continuing our fight on SMGO.TV and will try every avenue of possibility. We are Borgias too and we never give up

  • Georgia

The eBook did offer some temporary salve, but the relief was short-lived. The Borgias’ fans are a dedicated bunch and many are renewing their insistence for a 4th season after reading the published screenplay. In fact, the screenplay, while answering a “what happens next?” question, really just shows that a full 4th season would be the best option for this series. The story, the actors and, of course, the fans deserve to see The Borgias played out across their screens for a 4th season. If the introduction to the screenplay from Neil Jordan is any indication, he would like to do the same. And, of course, if you would like to vote to Save The Borgias, you can do that here at: smgo.tv/shows/the-borgias/

  • Valerie Marjoram

Best drama that’s been on for years, I have absolutely loved it! So sad no more episodes, as the Borgia’s story has much more drama to unfold. I hope one day a third session will be shot. Please Please x
