Under the Dome August 5 2

Last week Under the Dome's ratings dipped two tenths to 2.6 among adults 18-4 after two weeks at 2.8 as the show faced off against its toughest competition yet, The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose. Tonight, the show faces off against another special, ACM Music Festival: Country's Night To Rock, which garnered a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating last year. Even for country music fans, it probably won't have the dramatic urgency of a woman claiming that in a week's time she went from being deeply in love with one man to deciding she wanted to marry another. Time Warner Cable is still feuding with CBS, resulting in their customers in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas losing access to CBS, but the network's ratings haven't taken much of a hit s far.  So will Under the Dome rebound this week? Make your predictions below!

    2.7

    :)

Probably adjust up to 2.8 on the finales.

    :D

Personally given up on the show, don’t want to see Dean Norris in this and Breaking Bad as it could spoil my enjoyment of the latter.

I was watching this train-wreck each week hoping it would get better. Amazed how well ratings have held up – even with the stickiness of Sci-Fi fans and CBS viewers who’ll put up with any kind of dramatic dreck. Last week’s episode was, relatively, better but it’s still a horribly stilted, contrived mess of screen-writing.

Sara, your frustration with UTD’s Barbie/red-head’s relationship is shared by me. This was the only human-interest story-arc that had any intrigue after the first couple of episodes. To go from a loving-wife a week earlier, to go from saying “I never want to see you again” 24 hours earlier to sleeping with the hunk because… he’s a hunk?

  • hanp

I think Sarah was not talking about UTD’s Barbie/red-read…but rather about the Bachelorette?

    Anyway I’m guessing 2.9 for UTD…

  • BigBrotherFan

    2.7 FINAL

    Welcome to 2013, Mr. Mumble!!!

If you don’t like the show just quit watching it already. You are just going to find reasons to hate the show if you continue. And it’s going to be around for a while so put your frustations on something else.

Given Jericho, Flash Forward, Last Resort, etc. I do not even waste my time with these kind of shows.

  • TheTVGod

I gave up on it two weeks ago…why not just give us a great, 6-8 hour miniseries that people will love and talk about for years to come? Why stretch it out to 13 episodes then compound it by turning it into a series?

  • Pepper

let’s split the difference and go with 2.7 with the possibility of adjusting up

  • tv_viewer

I predict a 2.7 final rating because there is no The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose at 10 pm.

  • Dan S

I’m in the minority of this poll & say 2.5 because the CMA Awards will take a bite out of it. The continued TWC blackout doesn’t help either in key large TV markets. Of course I hope it does better than my projected guess

  • Separate Entity

    2.7 Final, maybe 2.6 Prelim.
I’m now watching this the way I did FlashForward, to see just how bad each episode can get.
I’m guessing the secret to the dome is contained in that girl’s GINORMOUS head! ;D

  • Wade

still waiting on this show to get better and it hasn’t yet. I know its supposed to be a bit creepy but it just comes off as lacking intelligence.

  • Liam

    2.6/2.7

  • AllOfHerTwist

Probably flat from last week, but hopefully up a tenth.

  • Bleep

Can’t watch due to CBS trying to hijack TWC. I, for one, intend to boycott CBS (once I can watch again) if this is not resolved very very soon. I had hoped the loss of TWC markets would have a bigger impact on the ratings. It may be wishful thinking, but I’m thinking CBS is due for a big drop — with an equally big drop in ad revenue. Phooey on CBS. As for UTD, it’s not as good as I’d hoped; am not really missing it.

  • Taylor

I’ve been watching Under the Dome since it first aired and I think it’s pretty good. I think it should at least stick around for a 2nd season. After that though, I’m not too sure.

  • Carol_R

I shocked that the ratings are as good as they considering the bad acting, bad writing, and that the show really doesn’t resemble the book at all. The book was all about bullies and had some real heroes in it, people you wanted to root for. I don’t see any of that in the show. I hoped it would get better but each week it gets worse.

The only reason I’m still watching it is that there is not much else on. If there was I wouldn’t waste my time.

  • How embarrassing!

Oh, Sara, I’m so embarrassed for you. There’s no such thing as the “ACM Music Festival”…

  • Brian

It did a 2.3 according to Joe Adalian.
